Meal Planning Help: Meal One
by Monica Resinger
It's nice when I find a meal where the foods compliment each other because it simplifies my life by knowing what to serve with what. Of course I don't have to stick to any one meal plan; I can mix and match the main dishes and sides, but a lot of the time I'm in a hurry and don't have a lot of time to think about it. I already have quite a few meals like this up my sleeve, but when I find a NEW one to add to my collection I get happy because it adds a little more variety to our meal choices.
I'd like to share some of my new and old meal plans with you in hopes of helping you with the question `what do I make for dinner'. Here's a meal that we have tried lately where the foods complimented each other really well. The food items aren't necessar

Meal Planning Help: Meal Two
by Monica Resinger
One meal planning challenge for me has been to `lighten up' for my family's and my health. My husband and I were both raised on `meat and potatoes' so it has been a difficult change. But we are making gradual progress.
One way to lighten up is by substituting ground turkey for ground beef. To us, this is a huge taste difference and hard to get used to when we're used to the ground beef flavor. However, I have found recipes made especially for ground turkey and they are much better. The `Turkey Medallions With Orange Teriyaki Sauce' recipe you'll find below is one such recipe. It is delicious and is almost a complete meal by itself with the meat and vegetables. But to round the meal out and make it more filling, serve it with `Hawaiian Bread'

My Mother's Recipe Box
by Rachel Paxton
Remember the days when cookbooks weren't so readily available, and you or your mother relied on only one or two different cookbooks for cooking all of your family's meals? I still have my mother's old cookbooks, as well as my grandmother's. Each one is worn from age and use--if you flip through the tattered pages it is obvious which recipes were turned to time and time again. These cookbooks will always number among my most precious treasures.
When our mothers wanted to try new recipes, they most likely didn't run out and buy new cookbooks. They often didn't have the extra money to spend, and often there weren't very many to choose from. So where did they get new recipes? From each other.
When I was a child I remember my mother exchanging r

Canarian Recipes for Shrove Tuesday
by Pamela Heywood
For the British at least, Shrove Tuesday is probably better known as Pancake Day. Those wonderful delicacies, smothered in sugar and lemon and often tossed around in village competitions. As you will see from the recipes below, the Brits certainly don't have the monopoly of this type of fare for the occasion:
REBANDAS DE CARNAVAL
This a great way to use up stale bread at any time.

Avoid Holiday Excess with Tasty, All-Natural Recipes
by ARA Content
(ARA) - The holidays have long been viewed, from a food perspective, as a time of excess. An extra helping of stuffing for Thanksgiving, a few cookies at the office party, an extra glass of champagne to ring in the New Year, and most people just give up on their good intentions to eat healthy foods. After all, healthy foods and celebrations seem like mixing oil and water, right?
Wrong. Americans are increasingly demanding healthy, organic foods. In fact, one industry source says organic food sales in the United States reached $7.8 billion last year. This has translated into more products that are readily available to bridge the perceived gap between what's good and what's good for you.
Organic soups and broths provide a great base for recip
