The Bebe Sounds Angelcare Movement Sensor with Sound Baby Monitor and Two Receivers detects your baby's slightest movements while she sleeps. Although it may seem like she is perfectly still while she sleeps she isn't. An alarm will sound alerting to check the baby if she becomes absolutely still for 20 consecutive seconds.This monitor via the placement of the Sensor Pad in baby's crib. If there is absolutely no movement for 20 seconds the pad sends a signal to the Nursery Unit which sounds an alarm to check the baby. The two portable Parents' Units will pill pick up the alarm plus any other nursery sounds acting as an audio baby monitor as well. It's like having two monitors in one making it a great value!Crib must have hard flat surface for pad to work. If it doesn't just place an Angelcare Masonite Board (sold separately) under the mattress and place the Sensor pad on top of the Masonite and under the mattress.
