The motor is housed in a stainless steel can that is filled with environmentally friendly oil for excellent heat dissipation. All exposed metal is stainless steel and is protected by a sacrificial zinc anode for corrosion protection and can be used in salt water applications. Minimal maintenance includes cleaning the stainless steel housing removing clogs and replacing the zinc anode when needed.All Kasco products are ETL approved to UL and CSA standards as complete packages (meaning motor float power cord and control panel) for safety in water.
