Cashew Triangles

1/2 cup margarine or butter (1 stick) -- softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg -- separated
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon water
1 cup chopped salted cashews, macadamia nuts or
toasted almonds
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate -- melted and cooled

Heat oven to 350º. Mix margarine, sugars, vanilla and egg yolk in medium bowl. Stir in flour and salt. Press dough in ungreased rectangular pan, 13 × 9 × 2 inches, with floured hands. Beat egg white and water; brush over dough. Sprinkle with cashews; press lightly into dough.

Bake about 25 minutes or until light brown; cool 10 minutes. Cut into 3-inch squares. Cut each square diagonally in half. Immediately remove from pan; cool. Drizzle with chocolate. Let stand about 2 hours or until chocolate is set.






Brownies and Glaze

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

6 tablespoons sweet butter

3 ounces baking chocolate

3/4 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 ounces Jack Daniel's Whiskey

Jack Daniel's Glaze

Mix together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Melt butter and chocolate in top of double boiler over simmering water. Remove from heat; add sugar, eggs, nuts, vanilla, flour mixture and Jack Daniel's Whiskey; mix well. Preheat oven to 350ºC. Pour batter into a greased 8x10-inch cake pan. You can make guacamole that people will rave about! It’s easy, and you don’t need any fancy kitchen utensils or appliances.
