"instructions not to easy to follow" I have read through this book and have found that the patterns are beautiful and have had to tab the heck out of the book in order to do any of the patterns. You have to make sure you have thouroughly read through the pattern that you want to make as the author keeps refering you to a different page in order to cut the pieces needed. It is very easy to make a mistake if you do not read through the entire directions. These are very pretty patterns and I am in the process of making a table runner and am loving the outcome! "French Braid Quilts" Excellent book!! I saw the book before I purchased it. There are many wonderful color pictures showing examples of the patterns. Love this book! You would love it too. "French Braid" This quilt is absolutely beautiful when completed. I did it lighter colors going to the more darker of the group.I have seen it done in monocromatic harmony and that is just beautiful too. Instructions are easy to follow. Enjoying the book very much. "Great book, easy to follow" This is one of the easiest quilt books to follow, very well written and great illustrations. I have been quilting for almost 20 years and rarely buy a new book anymore because I have so many. These quilts are gorgeous and go together easily if you follow the instructions. It is not, however, a book for the beginning quilter. "French Braid Quilts" I think this is the 2nd book I have ordered from Amazon, they are promt & easy to order from. I am a quilter & love this new pattern book & I am going to make one of these quilts very soon. Thank you, B.Stratton

What our customer's say! "Great idea book", I saw several of the quilts in this book at a quilt show and ordered the book. It's very well written with clear illustrations and diagrams. The color suggestions are very well thought out and varied. "French Braid quilts - A great Little book!", I love this book, it is informative and has great ideas for making french braid quilts. A great buy!! "Great book, a must have", The quilt designs are wonderful. It's difficult to decide which style make. Maybe I will make them all? I did have to read thru several times to really grasp the cutting instructions (and then reread to make the size adjustments I wanted to make). The piecing is a breeze. It's one of those patterns you can use again and again. It is well written and pictures are terrific. So much inspiration. I think it was a great buy. "Great tool for beginner to intermediate quilter", This well written how-to book provides good instruciton in color blending, planning and fabric choice for maximum impact. It is also helpful in breaking down the steps in timing of purchasing of the fabric to help avoid costly mistakes. There are good visuals to aid the written instructions for planning, cutting & construction. A powerfully visual book! "French Braid Quilts", I order this book because my quilt group wanted to may a French Braid Quilt. I will try making one soon. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Beautiful book, but ...", I have made one quilt (Big Red)from this book and will probably make more. The quilts are beautiful and the photos are excellent, which was fortunate because I found the instructions very difficult to follow. You are constantly being referred to other pages and it's difficult to determine where the instructions for "your" quilt end and the next one begins. I also think they made a mountain out of a molehill because many of the instructions seemed unnecessary. I ignored many of them and did what made sense to me, with the help of the excellent photography. Having said that I would like to add that the quilt went together beautifully. It truly is not difficult once you figure out what is going on. I gave it 4 stars because, to me, it was worth the aggravation and I am extremely happy with the quilt. "French Braid Quilts", Good book with easy to follow instructions. The results are spectacular "Margot's review", I loved the designs and colour in this book. I am going to do one of these quilts and needed information on colour combinations and yardage and now I have it which makes is easier to choose fabrics. Gorgeous designs in this book! "Beautiful!", This book is worth the purchase price for the gorgeous pictures alone. I'm not just saying that 'cause it's my mom's book, either. Real quilters seem to love it. Yay! "Quilt as you go!", What a fun quilt to make! The directions are clear and well-written. I used Sharon Pederson's method (reversible quilts; quilt as you go), and ended up with quilted panels that simply needed to be sewn together to end up with a completely quilted quilt! |
