Others say...
"Fabulous!" This is a great product. I definitely recommend it. Just make sure you get it nice and hot before you add batter. "Wow !! (Look at my photos)" I got this as one of the 4-for-3 promotion. And it works great. The aebleskivers came out very well, perfectly shaped. Anyway, I did not make aebleskivers with it !! Instead, there is a savory, spicy version of it in Indian cuisine called "Kuzhi Paniyaaram". When I was searching for one such pan, this pan was looking identical that we used to use back in India !! That was when I learnt about Aebleskiver - a Danish delicacy. Anyway, I might try that after I get a good aebleskiver mix. Also, there is the Japanese version Takoyaki, Thai version Kanom Krok etc. That's all the part of learning. As for the Pan, it sits pretty well on my electric-coil range. Heats evenly and the best thing is there is no toiling with turning the aebleskivers. Just a pair of plastic / silicone forks will do. No sticking and all. Yes, you can also use bamboo skewers. But I prefer forks since they are re-usable. Try not to use any metal utensil on this pan. That said, the only disadvantage of this pan is you cannot use high heat. Only medium heat. But that's an advantage in disguise, I'd say. Since, you get great tasting aebleskivers every time instead of very brown or burnt ones. I was a bit worried about getting the one with wooden handle like the previous reviewers said. But no, I got the same one in the photo - black insulated handle. And thanks AMAZON for delivering it on time a week before the estimated delivery date .....KEEP IT UP.... "Works great, but ordering was weird..." My husband ordered this version of the Nordic Ware Iron, without noticing that it had an expected ship date of about a month later. We pretty much try for Amazon Prime shipping (which this had). When I went in to see why it hadn't come, I realized it had the long ship date, so I switched the order to a wooden handled version (which said it would ship immediately --and was cheaper). This is what actually came. Go figure. "Great for Takoyaki too!" If you are Japanese or anyone who loves "konamono" and looking for Takoyaki pan, this is it! This is more stable than traditional Takoyaki pan, lighter and easy to maintain ( I believe this is non-stick and dishwasher safe). You need ice pick to make Takoyaki but you can get it at dollar store. I originally bought this to make ebelskiver but I also use this for Takoyaki and this is great and love it!! "Ebelskiver Pan" This is the second ebelskiver pan (made by Nordicware) that I have puchased (I gave one to my mom). I use my pan 2-3 times per week and am extraordinarily happy with the product. We have had countless compliments on these pancakes, and my kids LOVE love love them. You can use virtually any type of pancake mix with them (homemade or otherwise). We have used rice, rye/barley, and regular pancake mixes. If you're using rice flour, make a note that they tend to be more sticky and might require more butter. I would totally recommend this product for anyone wanting to spice up their breakfast!

What our customer's say! "Puffs puffs everywhere", I love the pan the only problem is the nonstick coating comes off really easily. DO NOT USE nething other than plastic or chopsticks which are my favorite. "Easy to Clean", This pan has the plastic handle. That is the only difference from the one selling on William Sonoma website for much more. Well made and easy to clean. Whatever you decide, DON't buy the cast iron one, which I just threw out. "Fun!!", I decided to get this when I seen it on the Rachael Ray show. I am so glad that I did. It does take some practice. So easy to clean too. "Modern Aebelskiver Pan Is Great!", I used to own a cast iron Aebelskiver pan, and it was constantly rusting up despite trying to care for it properly. This new non-stick pan is a real treat to use and clean up is a breeze. The first time I used it I was very impressed with how the non-stick finish made turning the little puffy "pancakes" so easy, which in turn made making them the sought-after rounded shape so much easier as well. A tiny bit of oil brushed in each well was sufficient to prevent sticking. I used a home-made recipe (found online) and they were a real hit. Clean-up was wicked easy as well. Nothing stuck, so a very easy and quick clean-up was all that was needed. Great little pan, and I recommend it. "The real Pancake Puff pan!", My son saw the infomercial for the Pancake Puff pan on TV. I know first-hand, coming from a Swedish family, that this is nothing new. My 97 year old Grandmother has several cast iron versions hanging in her home. I asked for one and she gladly handed it over. My father commented that he always thought they were egg poachers. We fired up stove but with the age of the pan and the natural difficulty of cast iron, my aebelskivers came out very poorly. So, I threw heredity to the wind and went online to find a teflon version. My son was so excited to use this. Any batter will work, but it must be a thinner mixture than what most normal boxed mixes result in. Anyone who complains that they can't turn these with absolute ease is not doing it correctly. The object is not to poke the aebelskiver and manually flip it. You are really just using the stick (or whatever you use) to spin it over so the uncooked side cooks. Just slide the stick under and sort of spin it under itself. It'll spin right around. We have a lot of fun with this. I also bought the cookbook that Amazon sold as a package with the pan. There are only a few pages of recipes that can be used with the pan. The rest are Scandinavian recipes every Grandmother has in her own recipe box. They can easily be halved; we are a family of 4 and always have too many leftover when we use the regular recipe. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Good", It is a bit tricky in the beginning but once you got the hang of it it goes quickly and they taste YUMMY!! "Nordic Ware Ebelskiver pan", Followed the directions that came with the pan and had picture perfect and delicious ebelskiver the first time I used the pan. "Awesome!", I just used this pan today for the first time, and I was amazed at how easy it was to use! I used a little bit of butter (1/4 tsp?) for every hole and the batter did not stick at all. Flipping was a breeze with a wooden skewer. It was fun putting in different fillings for each ebelskiver. I'm excited to serve these for my guests in the future. Make sure the heat is around medium-low. "Satisfactory", This specific pan is the only one of it's kind that i've found that will work on glass-top ranges. Seeing as that's what i own it was the only option. The non-stick surface is damaged a little too easily, but as long as you use butter every few rounds it works very well. It has a nice weight to it, for aluminum, and the handle seems to be well-attached, though i haven't had it that long. This item makes smaller pancakes than you'd expect though, fully bite-sized. Overall i'm pleased. "Great Item for Great Tastes", This device can produce the most exciting treats for which the mouth is yearning. Recipies are hard to find but they are available with a good search engine. Ebelskevers may be frozen and reheated in a conventional oven at 400 degrees for 7 minutes and have a fresh flavor. ![]() |
