"Great handy little product", Great multifunctional good sized product. The suction is good, but not great compared to my Hoover Upright bagged vacuum.

The missing star is really for my personal dislike of having to vacuum all the time.

"Better than traditional vacs for hardwood floors", We love this vacuum. We have a really large one too that we were using to vacuum our floors but we thought this one would be more convenient, and it is. It works great and it is easier to carry or drag around than a big shop vac. It has more than enough power to vacuum the floors and rugs in our house and we put the big one back in the shop.

Most upright vacuums have gotten so big and clumsy and are really only good for carpet. This vac is sooo much easier on hardwood, tile, and rugs (not carpet). You can get under furniture so much better. This vac is so much more flexible, with attachments and all, it can perform so many more functions.

An added perk is that I noticed my cats aren't afraid of it because it is quieter than the big one. So I tried to vacuum my cat and he loves it. I just bought a grooming attachment and now I have so much less cat hair around it's awesome.

And we haven't had any issues with the on/off button that I've seen mentioned in some other comments. Maybe we just got lucky or they improved it.

"Great Company", Didn't buy this exact unit, but I want to post a good word about this Company. I burned out the motor unit accidentally (my fault) in my Shop-Vac 10-gallon wet/dry vacuum a while back during a cleaning job. The unit was still under warranty. I wrote an on-line service request with a thorough description of what happened and received an email reply within a day or two stating a replacement motor assembly had been shipped! No hassles whatsoever and the part even came with installation instructions. Took maybe 20-minutes to install and I didn't have to return the old part.

Very refreshing to find a company these days that provides great, prompt customer service. I will be a faithful Shop-Vac customer from now on and highly recommend their products.

"Love the sweeper", Great vac has a lot of power ,I keep it in my garage just for my automobiles, some of the floor mats are sucked off the floor because it has that much power .It's well worth the money, I would buy another

"The Best!", This is one great vacuum. It's so light weight that it doesn't hurt my back. The size is perfect for my small condo. I've got hardwood floors thru out and it takes only minutes to do it all!!! :)

"It is wonderful little helper! I just want to know.. ", how to clean my carpet stains, using it. I've heard that some people did it.

"Actually a 4 1/2...........", I'd rate it a 5 but you have to use bags unlike a larger shop vac.
PROS:
1) *Very* light weight.
2) TONS of "suck".
3) Attachments (plus major suck) allow true cleaning of carpet next to baseboard, tight/small corners, etc.
4) Say "goodbye!" to pet hair!
5) Surprisingly quiet for a shop vac.
CONS:
1) Instructions have no explanations of attachments. I thought one rubbery piece was a throw-away. Oops. It is part of the vacuum attachment end (I think for wetness).
2) Even my husband said the wheels take major effort to pop into place.
3) Have to use bags unlike bigger shop vacs (major bummer).
4) On/Off switch is same color on both sides & I don't think the rubbery cover will work well with my all-purpose marker (nail polish).

We bought this so I would not have to haul the 16 gallon Craftsman Shop Vac in from the garage every time I chipped paint. Well...it not only does an excellent job of sucking up paint chips, it's killer for pet hair and small crevices. I strongly recommend this item. And it's small enough for condos & apartments.

"My Little Buddy", I've only had this for a few weeks but I love it. Works much better in my house than a traditional, push type beater brush vacuum. My place is only 1300 sq. ft and this fits in wonderfully. I can vacuum the whole place starting with the tile, then vacuum the cat hair off the sofa/loveseat, to the carpet without any problems. It just rolls around and follows me merrily around my place like my little buddy. Does a great job in my motorhome as well as my vehicles. Used it once to empty the condensation under the fridge, then easily converted it back to dry mode to clean the coils under the fridge. It only comes with one bag so better order some more. Between this and my Dirt Devil quick vac, my place stays squeaky clean.

"Great lightweight vacuum for quick cleaning", This little vacuum is a great addition to our house. I have a toddler who is always making messes and this vacuum is great for all those dropped food and crumbs on the floor. I mostly use it to clean the tile kitchen floor, the stairs, and a lot of the areas that have little krooks and nannies. I still use a regular upright vacuum for most of our carpeted areas. I don't feel this vacuum cleans well enough to handle deep cleaning for a regular carpet.

This vacuum is very lightweight and I love the handle on the top of the vacuum to carry it around. It is easy to carry and vacuum the stairs at the same time. I buy the type B bags to put in the vacuum. The only thing I can think of that I don't like is that I think there should be some type of bag to keep the attachments in.

"This will be helpful overall", I'm kinda lukewarm. It arrived without a (nonessential) part, but customer service said they'd send it to me. If you need to call customer service, know that it's not toll-free and that you may have never dealt with such thoroughly, almost comically indifferent people as you will run into there. I had no problems with the casters or the base as others have noted, but did notice the clumsy on/off switch, so I plan to leave in on and use the power cord as the on/off switch. It's really loud but it has amazing suction and is much easier to haul around than my big canister vac. Pretty sure I'd buy it again, just disillusioned by the who-gives-a-crud customer service people.

UPDATE 3/10/08: I got the feel of the on/off switch and have had no trouble with it. Despite the indifferent customer service people on the phone, I received the part that was missing from the original package so fast I was amazed. I was also suprised to find that lots of disposables (bags and filters) for this thing are available at Wal-Mart.

I do wish the bags held more, but am very happy with this item.
