"Not recommended for the elderly"
I bought this for my 82 year old mother in law - thinking it would be easier than peeling potatoes and vegetables the 'old fashioned way'. It isn't. If a person is losing the strength in their hands or wrists for ANY reason, this would not be the product to choose. Actually it isn't the product I thought it would be. It is well made, and has a nice stainless steel bowl (the only part she uses).

"Waste of money"
The Hoffritz Mandoline slicer was very difficult to use, came with only two blades, the others being plastic and were absolutely useless. I tossed it out it was a total waste of money!

"Great Tool"
I use this product in a soup kitchen. There are things you need to know.
1. Don't let the bowl get too full, when this happens the food gets stuck in the blade.
2.Put a towel under the bowl.. The rubber grips will stain under the bowl.
3. Use one hand to grip the bowl through the top.
4. When using tomatoes make sure they are firm.
I really love this product and going to order 2 more. For $25 this is almost disposible.

"Good machine and concept... just a small warning, though..."
If you have wrist problems, don't buy this machine. The potatoes are hard to push through because they are so dense and I have tendinitis. When I was using the mandoline regularly with potatoes, I had a flare up of tendinitis which took days to recover from. I've not used it with any other vegetables though, so it's not fair to say it's not a good product.

"Kute Kitchen Kutter"
So far so good. The product seems to be well made and designed. My wife enjoys using it and is pleased with the results

What our customer's say!

"barely adequate", I was disappointed in this product. The thin slicing blade made slices paper thin which is way too thin for my purposes. The thick slicing blade made slices only about 1/8 of an inch thick which is fine for thin slices but there is no way to make thick slices (1/4 to 1/2 inch). I used to have a plastic model that did better.

It is very sharp and does make slicing very quick. The bowl is great and I like the idea of storing everything compactly in the bowl.

"Waste of money", Fortunately, this was a gift and bought at an outlet store. Did not perform well at all. donating to charity...maybe they'll be able to make better use of it, if not the bowl at least

"Great Value.", This product is versitile and much easier to clean than a food processor when you want to chop a few veggies. Also neat because it's easy to use the bowl for salad after all the veggies are sliced. It makes cutting potatoes a breeze too. I really like this product, even though my arm does get a little tired.

"Yikes! Save your money.", I bought this a few years ago from Amazon. I used it once. In the cabinet it sits, just waiting to be thrown out.

It does not work well at all. It is difficult to push the vegetables through. A large portion of them do not get cut up. It is a hassle to try to get this thing clean.

What a nightmare! Avoid this at all costs. I beg of you.

"The worst", I agree with all the negative reviews. I should have sent it back right away. I could use the money for at least a half tank of gas. Now it sits in the garage collecting dust after only being used a couple of times (with terrible results).

"not quite as good", Really nice bowl with cover. It mushed up the tomatoes and the safety handle you hold on to broke on the second use. It does however make very thin slices.

"perfect", THIS SLICER IS SO EASY TO USE AND W/THE CATCH PAN THERE IS NO MESS. YOU CAN COVER THE PAN AND YOUR READY TO MAKE DINNER TOMORROW WHEN FRIENDS STOP BY.YOU CAN VISIT NOT BE STUCK IN THE KITCHEN.

"So so", The only thing I find this slicer useful for is thick and thin slicing of onions. This concept is too akward for slicing any other vegetable that is not round. The french-fry cutter and julienne slicers require a lot of arm power and I'm just paranoid that I may cut my finger off. It's still tricky removing the different blades even with previous customer advice of lifting, then pulling. I like the bowl feature since I don't have a lot of counter space and I often end up slicing sitting down on my step stool.

"Works but scary", Sharp-sharp-sharp. The force required either broke the food or got jammed until I figured out a solution. Place the item on edge to acheive the narrowest profile to reduce cutting effort. Cut large items into smaller profiles as well. Don't attempt to slice last remnant--you can't get enough traction. Rather, hand slice or turn on edge and be careful-careful-careful.

The bowl doesn't accomodate the cuttings of large stiff items as it hits the rim before being completely cut. Reduce the length or use the left edge which allows a little more length.

"Kitchen gadget must have", I can't begin to describe how worthwhile a piece of equipment this is. It makes the best little potato shreds for potato pancakes, then, you just switch blades and slice up a little onion for them in the same bowl, which you can then mix the batter in. The bowl component is my number 1 favorite feature of this little guy, but it just plain works really well.
