"A good item"
This funnel is of really high quality - it's made well enough it might even serve as a sausage stuffing attachment for your meat grinder - that's a joke folks - but it is very well made and I'm happy with my purchase. I wish they made one a little larger, though. This one is just about perfect for filling baby bottles, but a larger model would fit my needs better.

"great strainer/funnel"
I bought this at the same time that I bought my new deepfryer for the purpose of straining the oil after each use. I used to use a plastic funnel with a little strainer inside, and it worked, but it was unstable and easily resulted in spills. And who likes to clean up oil spills? The Norpro 5 1/2 inch Stainless Steel Funnel with Detachable Strainer works great for the purpose for which I purchased it. It cleans easily as it is dishwasher safe. I am not disappointed, in the least, for making this purchase.

"Performed well but..."
When it arrived I thought to myself that the filter holes look a bit larger than expected. Upon first use the filter is only good for large particles. Grit and bits of things like floured coatings slipped through. I ended up using a couple layers of cheese cloth instead.

One other "nit" to pick. Because of the design, when inserted into a largish container openning, there is little to no room for air to escape so I had to lift the funnela little to let the air out. Laddling 4-5 liters of oil one handed was messy at best.

All in all my $2 large plastic funnel and cheese cloth performed better for my needs.

"daily use"
I use this funnel twice a day to fill glass bottles with distilled water,
works great. I like the strainer being detachable. I like the strainer, but like too the option of not using it too.

"It's OK"
I purchased this funnel for my homebrewing needs. The size is just right and it stays put on top of my carboy but the funnel clogs up too easy when pouring the wort into the carboy. It becomes a trick because you have to pause and clean the thing out which can become a pain when you're trying to keep things sanitary. I might drill the holes little bigger and see what happens. I do recommend the stainless steel for homebrewing though.

What our customer's say!

"Exvellent strainer", I've been looking for a good strainer with a filter and now I have it. Good quality, works as intended.

"Doesn't do the job.", The strainer is almost impossible to get seated so the oil bypasses, as well as material that needs to be filtered out. The strainer clogs readily and it takes quite a while to even attempt to filter the cooking oil. Very frustrating to use.

"I agree with the others here...", What can you say about a funnel? It works, even if it is a bit expensive for what it is. As others have said, the strainer is a bit on the course side, but a coffee filter wrapped around it seems to take care of the filtration issues. Had this been $5-6 I would have given it 4 stars instead of 3.

"Sieve not fine enough for oil", I bought this funnel set specifically to save deep fry oil for reuse. While the body of the funnel seems fine, the wire mesh insert has holes that are large enough for floating particles in the oil to pass through. While it does get the bigger stuff out, the smaller stuff remains in the oil, which renders it useless to me. Perhaps I'll do as another reviewer did an use cheesecloth in conjunction with the body of the funnel instead of the sieve, and see if that works. Feels like a bad buy...

"There's no better funnel for a deep fryer", Figured I'd need a funnel after I bought a deep fryer, read the reviews about this one and bought it. A very good decision. I've had funnels over the years but nothing like this. It's large, sturdy, the screen holes are the perfect balance to filter out the large particles and not slow too much. Fits in the dishwasher nicely too.

"Good Product", Strainer does not filter particles such as cornmeal. Otherwise, it's a fine item.

"A big funnel and worth the cost.", This funnel is bigger than I expected and for the cost it should have been. It is very nicely made with a very wide mouth and hefty material. It will hold a lot of liquid if you pour too fast but is very well balanced and has not yet tipped on me like other funnels do this is probably due to it's significant weight.

"Could use a finer filter", I bought the funnel to put fry oil back in its bottles after each use. It turns out the filter that comes with the funnel is not nearly as fine as I would like for such an application. Otherwise, the funnel is fine. The side handle is useful.

"Great for Mixing up fly spray for horses!", i use empty spray bottles from a retail store and mix up my own fly spray. I bought this just for that. It works great though a little top heavy on an empty bottle, but that is to be expected.Strainer tends to keep most dirt out that would plug up the sprayer. Nice item.

"Great for dressings, sauces", Handy little gadget when you don't want bits of herbs and spices in your salad dressings or gravies, etc. Its not a "must have" but it is convenient.
