Others say...

"It really works!"
I try to make my own ice cream as often as possible - generally it's softer and creamier. But with the effort it takes, it doesn't happen to often so Baskin Robbin's it is. And anyone who knows Baskin Robbin's knows that their ice cream can be so packed it's hard to scoop. I bought this scoop and kept my fingers crossed the whole time. I'm happy to say that it works! I've gotten rid of all the other ice cream scooping contraptions and am dedicated to the Zeroll. It's a definite recommendation for anyone who loves ice cream!

"Great scoop. Bad discoloration"
I enjoy the scoop immensly. Solid feeling in your hand, and performs like a pro. Unfortunately, after washing it and placing it in my drying tray, the water on the bottom of my tray badly discolored the scoop, turning it a dark brown color. The discoloration doesn't go away either. Buy the scoop, love the scoop, but please keep it dry!

"Best ice cream scoop ever"
Finally an icecream scoop that actually does what a scoop is supposed to do - give you easily-scooped nice round balls of ice cream. Easy to use and perfect in every way, down to it's classic good looks (except for the no-dishwasher factor). My husband laughed at me for paying so much for an ice cream scoop but now he wants to get it as stocking stuffers for everyone we know this Xmas. If you're reading this review, you're probably looking for a good scoop - you've found it!

"There are no negatives about this scoop"
Greatest icecream scoop i've ever owned. It does exactly what it says. I received it as a gift and very thankful i have it. Good job to Zeroll.

"Just about perfect."
I've had one of these for almost a decade and love the way it handles ice cream. Unfortunately, I also own the "non-stick" version and as the finish ages, the dark color from the scoop is transferred to the ice cream: a most undesirable effect. Seriously, just buy the regular, not-nonstick version.

The real secret is the conductivity of the anti-freeze solution and the aluminum that encases it. The solution readily transfers heat from your hand to the handle, to the liquid, which warms the scoop ever so slightly after you scoop. By pre-warming the handle & liquid in lukewarm (NOT HOT) water for 90 seconds, you'll allow the scoop to release the scooped ice cream faster. Also, that 90 seconds actually lets the ice cream temper before you scoop. The end result: no-longer rock hard ice cream that you can readily scoop and virtually drop in a dish or on a cone. Note: if the surface of the scooped ice cream retains a liquid appearance for more than a few moments or (Eek!) if liquified cream runs off of the ice cream, you've over-heated the handle. Don't worry, just a bit of practice...

What our customer's say!

"Slippery Handle", I don't like how my hand always slides when I'm holding the handle. Also, when you're trying to scoop really hard ice-cream, it still doesn't work very well.

"Unstickable Scoop", I love this scoop! I've been using an old scoop with a sweep blade and never thought this type of scoop would work. I saw one like it on Good Eats and thought I'd give it a try even though it seemed pretty expensive. It's great. The ice cream never sticks and there's no need to put it in water between scoops.

"It's Just an Ice Cream Scoop, Right?", WRONG! This is not just any other ice cream scoop and it's not just an expensive scoop that will do nothing more than the $2 version you bought at the grocery store. This ice cream scoop, complete with antifreeze built right in, will cut right through even the most frozen ice cream. No more dipping your scoop in water to get a small bit of now-watery ice cream. Just scoop right through the ice cream and plop it in the bowl.

Even better, if the ice cream you scooped sticks in the scoop, just hold it over the bowl for a second and it will drop right out when the antifreeze takes over.

And in case you didn't catch it in the other reviews or in the directions with the scoop, DO NOT PUT THIS SCOOP IN YOUR DISHWASHER. You will seriously ruin the scoop and then wonder what happened. Just take the few seconds to wash it by hand and you'll be fine.

"ice cream scoop", this seems to work well. the handle did retain some spots even after i dried it with a cloth.

"Best scoop", This scoop works extremely well on ice-cream, sorbet, gelato, you name it. I'm able to scoop as soon as I pull the ice-cream out of the freezer. Previously, I would have to set the ice-cream on the counter to defrost a bit. However, with the Zeroll, the heat from your hand immediately transfers to the scooper and cuts into the ice-cream. Remember not to put the Zeroll in the dishwasher!

"Don't run it through the dishwasher", Scoops ice cream as advertsed, though I did not detect much magic from the antifreeze said to be coursing through it.

A beautiful, lustrous finish was ruined by one trip through the dishwasher -- now it is a sort of zinc grey. 4[stars}...s had it retained its finish.

"A scoop above.", No more bent spoons. No more throwing out a scoop that has been broken. This scoop is a scoop above the rest. It makes getting that ice cream out of the box and into the bowl so easy. Although it is not dishwasher safe, that is a small price to pay for keeping the rest of the silverware safe from being bent or tossed. Why didn't someone think of this years ago? Sure, it is a bit pricey, but again - I feel well worth it in the long run. You won't be unhappy with this purchase.

"Too Pricey", This ice cream scoop works really well the way it melts through ice cream, but the price is too high. The Pampered Chef sells them for a lot cheaper.

"wonderful at what it does, but...", The Zeroll Aluminum Anti-Freeze Ice Cream Scoop is an engineering triumph. Easy to use and convenient, it does exactly what it claims it will. The only question is: do you really need a self-defrosting ice cream scoop? I've got three types of wine glasses for different red wines and even I think this space age super scooper is excessive. Think twice before buying unless you do volume scooping. Did I mention I like saying scoop?

"Once you try this you won't go back to conventional scoops", This scoop does what others fail to do. This cuts through ice cream easily. The antifreeze that is built into the handle absorbs the coolness of the ice cream, and melts its way through easily. If you place an ice cube on this, it will easily melt it in about 60 seconds. I loved my ice cream scoop. I have to say loved it, because I had a family member take one with them when they tried it. I highly recommend this if you are looking for an ice cream scoop.
