"Wait 'til it ages a bit..."
I've had one of these for almost a decade and love the way it handles ice cream. Unfortunately, as the finish ages, the dark color from the scoop is transferred to the ice cream: a most undesirable effect.
Seriously, just buy the regular, not-nonstick version. The real secret is the conductivity of the anti-freeze solution and the aluminum that encases it. The solution readily transfers heat from your hand to the handle, to the liquid, which warms the scoop ever so slightly after you scoop. By pre-warming the handle & liquid in lukewarm (NOT HOT) water for 90 seconds, you'll allow the scoop to release the scooped ice cream faster. Also, that 90 seconds actually lets the ice cream temper before you scoop. The end result: no-longer rock hard ice cream that you can readily scoop and virtually drop in a dish or on a cone. Note: if the surface of the scooped ice cream retains a liquid appearance for more than a few moments or (Eek!) if liquified cream runs off of the ice cream, you've over-heated the handle. Don't worry, just a bit of practice...

"Professional Grade"
I used these scoops for the two years that I worked at Brigham's (an ice cream parlor) while in high school. For those two years of daily use and abuse I never had a complaint with the usefulness of these scoops. They were even run through a commercial dishwasher every night.

I have one in my kitchen now that the shop had retired nearly twenty years ago and it still scoops better than anything else that I've used.

They do work best when you wet the scoop before starting and rewetting from time to time.

The scoop might be expensive, but it will probably be the last scoop you or your childen or their children will ever need to purchase.

"Wonderful!"
For years I've been fed up with lousy ice cream scoops and vowed to someday find a really good one. When I saw this one I thought, "Wholly cow, how can someone justify spending [such an amount] on an ice cream scoop?" Well, I bought it anyway and I do not regret it. It is wonderful; even better than I had hoped. It cuts hard ice cream like butter and is beyond sturdy; it should last generations. Negatives are that it can't go in the dishwasher and high price.

"Best scoop yet!"
I had been in search of the ultimate ice cream scoop when I came across this Zeroll product. At first I was suspicious as to its claims and the relatively high price. However, upon my first scoop I was convinced it was worth it. The scoop contains freon which transfers heat from your hand to the scoop, allowing you to effortlessly scoop through even the hardest ice cream (like Ben & Jerry's straight from the freezer). You actually see the ice cream melt upon contact with the scoop!

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves ice cream but doesn't like scooping it out! Highly satisfied!

What our customer's say!

"10 STARS! Works like a HOT KNIFE through BUTTER ! ", WOW! I will never go back to a non-Zeroll scoop again! I received this as a gift. This is the best scoop ever! We eat icecream almost every day in the warm months, which can be 8 months out of the year here. I have small weak hands with wrists that easily hurt from strain - this scoop is a godsend! It quickly scoops even the hardest icecream like a hot knife through butter! Even a child can dip their own with ease. If you like eating from cones, it makes a perfect rounded scoop for the top. I use the thick rounded handle to push icecream down into the cone first, for icecream all the way to the bottom. Rinses clean with running water and a quick wipe with a paper towel. Highly recommend!

"Get The Scoop On Ice Cream", Seriously, though, the Zeroll scoop is one of the best ice cream scoops on the market. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I dipped the scoop into a container of frozen-solid ice cream. It went through like the ice cream was softened butter.
The ice cream handles nicely and slides off the scoop easily.
The handle does get a bit cold to the touch after you have been scooping for awhile. Others have said the finish tends to wear off over time, onto your hands and ice cream, but I have not seen this yet (used almost every day for three months.)
I do not use the dish washer for the Zeroll, just a warm water rinse cleans it nicely for the next use.
For me, a better grip on the handle and a slightly larger scoop size would be about the only improvements I would make to this super scooper. It also works nicely as a melon-baller.

"best ice cream scoop till the finish comes off", I also have had the ice cream scoop for around five years and noticed the finish comes off on your hands and ice cream. It worked better than any other scoop but it worries me about the way it doesn't last.

"Shipping prices are ridiculous", $9.95 on shipping for this item. I wish I would have realized that before I purchased, but it was in a large order. Give me a break. I won't buy from them again.

"Good, but not the best", I have one of these ice cream scoops too (I have quite a collection, but I am a self-proclaimed icecreamaholic) and while I do like it, it's far from my favorite. I personally like the KitchenAid scooper much better.

This one is good too though, and does slightly melt the ice cream which helps in scooping. I run mine through the dishwasher all the time and never had an issue. The nonstick surface is also really nice, it makes the ice cream slide off the scoop easily in to the bowl. Also, the feel of the handle is nice, though the grip isn't as good as some other scoopers - mine is slightly slippery while my KitchenAid scooper has a much firmer grip! I still give it 5 stars, it does its job well!
