Others say...
"Wow! Just as great as they say!" These mats are terrific. Pizzas slide right off; cookies just cruise off; they work great! "Incredible." This product is incredible. Works as advertised. No clean up after biscuits, cookies, etc. "These mats make cleaning up after baking a snap!" I've had my Matfer Exopat sheet for about two years now, and its still going strong! The sheet makes cleaning up after baking anything on a cookie sheet a snap, because stuff gets cooked onto the sheet--which is super easy to wipe off--instead of onto the cookie sheet itself. I've also noticed that the sheet seems to even out the heating differences between cookie sheets, making my baking time more consistent. For example, if I bake cookies using the sheet, instead of using parchment paper, they all seem to take the same amount of time regardless of what cookie sheet I use. This makes baking easier, which is an added bonus to this already great product! "Works great for the price" Works just as well as I would expect the more expensive versions to be. That said, it's larger than my current cookie sheet; not exactly a problem with the mat, and it doesn't cause any issues baking. Make a note to wash it thoroughly before use; I only rinsed it a bit and it smoked a lot on the first batch. "Great Product" Only used this once in my HALF SIZE SHEET PAN, for which this is designed to fit. Made some drop biscuits that turned out great. My only gripe is that the baked biscuits would move on me when I tried to brush butter on the tops while they were still on the mat -lol! anniebelle, (and others): I always measure to make sure mats and racks will fit my pans before I make a purchase, that's why the dimensions are given. This size is not designed for a standard cookie sheet or bun pan. I'll give one to my sister and mother, along with a true 1/2 size pan, which you will not find at any of your normal brick and mortar retailers.

What our customer's say! "Not as nice as a Silpat.", I have a Silpat and generally use it for making bread and other doughs. It really is a great nonstick working surface which helps me to use less flour. I don't use it for baking because I'm sensitive to many chemicals. I bought the Matfer for my daughter after reading reviews that claimed it was comparable to the Silpat (and was cheaper). The first thing I noticed was that it just didn't have the nice heft that the Silpat has, which I can just unroll and toss on the table and it lays immediately flat. This was thinner and curling a bit on the edges. Next, I noticed that it was dirty with some sort of greasy spots and the white edges were smudged. Could be cleaned off, but it does make you feel better for something intended as a cooking surface to arrive in clean condition. My daughter was moving and timewise a return didn't work out so we decided to test it out and see how it held up. It may turn out to be perfectly serviceable. My recommendation would be that if you are very fond of your Silpat, as I am, stay with them. And maybe Matfer should take care that its products are sent out in clean condition. "Non stick is great, but I'll stick with parchment paper", I used this mat to bake pig in a blanket. The bottom was still undercook whereas the top had turned brown. I used parchment paper and my bakery turned out perfect. I will stick with parchment paper for my bakery and use this mat only for cooking meat. "Home baking as easy as 1-2-3", I bought this is January 2007. The mat keeps going strong and I give it a 5-star review because: 1. Everything -- pizza, cookies, biscuits -- slides right off the mat after baking. 2. This is very easy to clean. 3. I'm baking more at home and buying less ready-made foods, helping me reduce my monthly food budget. "A must have!", I can't say enough about my Matfer Exopat Nonstick Baking Sheets. I purchased several for Christmas gifts and kept a couple for myself. They are priceless when it comes to perfect cookies and perfect cleanup. "Absolutely nothing sticks", I love this, except for cookies. Here in the Florida where the humidity is always high, there is a problem with cookies rising. I find that using this mat for cookies increases the problem and the cookies come out hard and flat. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Exopat not great", I ordered this thinking it would fit into my cookie sheets. It is too big, so it stick out over the top. However, the cookies on it do brown nicely. Just wish it was 2" small all around. They say not to cut it, darn. "Excellent cookie sheet!!", You can pretty much bake anything on it and it will not stick and the results are wonderful! Definitely recommend it to all bakers! "Recommended for frequent cookie bakers!", Works well! I hate washing cookie sheets (my favorite doesn't fit in the dishwasher), and I feel guilty using yards of parchment paper. These and similar baking mats are kind of pricey, so I bought two when I saw them on sale. Benefits beyond providing a non-stick surface: - I have two of these mats, but only one good cookie sheet. I put one batch of cookies in to bake, and prepared my next batch on the second baking mat. Previously, I'd have taken out the first batch, then let the sheet cool thoroughly so it didn't melt chilled dough of my first cookies while I rolled the rest in sugar. Having two mats sped things up. - Kept cookie bottoms from getting as dark as they normally do. - For cookies that bake too soft to spatula off the cookie sheet without crumpling, I was able to slip the mat w/ cookies onto the counter or cooling rack, so cookies stay in perfect form but don't get over-done sitting on a hot cookie sheet. "Absolute JUNK - There's a Reason It's on 4 for 3 Promo", I have one of the Silpat's which is more expensive and love it for baking. It saves messy cleanups and is more environmentally friendly than continually using parchment paper. When I saw the Matfer product was made by Silpat and was significantly less expensive, factoring in the 4 for 3 promotion, I bought two. The first two that came were absolutely filthy, having grease marks all over the edges. In addition, the white edging was peeling/flaking off both mats. Amazon's return service was a dream and I reordered replacements for the two defective mats. Well, guess what - the replacements' edges were also peeling/flaking off. I've returned these to Amazon and once I get my refund will purchase the more expensive Silpat product. Don't waste your money on these less expensive items. "Made some great not burned cookies! ", Works as advertised and less mess and ease of use and never a burned bottom. They certainly could burn though if in long enough so pay attn to your temps and timimg and you will get great cookies each time with these easy to use and clean mats. I did not notice any funny tastes, the cookies baked well, looked good and I had to make a couple trays to determine my timing on each type of cookie I was making. All ovens are different, types of cookies, volume of dough/size of cookie etc all make a difference whether with these mats or with metal baking sheets. So nice to not have to spray them and make a bigger mess! ![]() |
