"Strong, but...." It's powerful,but I'm giving it a 3/5 because the pull up "switch" for turning off the oscillation falls down and causes the thing to start oscillating unpleasantly every time you touch the fan. "Way too loud" I bought this fan for my office, and it's way too loud. I'm returning it today for something quieter. "strong breeze but loud" This fan does a great job of circulating air and cooling a room, but anything other than the lowest setting is pretty darn loud. I ended up returning it, but I do think it's a good fan. "Junk, junk, junk." Lousy junk. The fan sounds like it would burn at any time, and the motor doesn't run at all three speeds. Get a Vornado 610. "Way too loud" A table fan should be felt and not heard. A little sound from the whirring of blades can be comforting. Motor noise, on the other hand, is very different, very unpleasant, and actually quite unnecessary. Whether it is the motor on a $10 product or a $1,000 product, manufacturers seem to have an aversion to putting a little inexpensive vibration/sound absorbing material around the motor housing. Go figure. I do have one tabletop air circulator (Vornado) that is tolerable on the lowest speed thanks to a square of egg crate foam I set it on - a little fan whirring but almost no motor noise.

What our customer's say! "Great fan, great price", Wonderful fan for the price. It doesn't seem abnormally loud compared to other fans, but it sure blows plenty of air. We hardly ever need to use the high speed due to the amount it blows out effortlessly at the lower speeds. "know what you're getting", I can't believe one reviewer said this fan is "quiet." Compared to what? A jet engine? This fan moves a lot of air, but it is LOUD. "Too loud for the bedroom", This could be ok for an office, or maybe a busy kitchen, but I wanted something to circulate the bedroom air at night. Although this did the job, the noise couldn't be ignored. After trying an array of other small fans as well, I ended up putting in a ceiling fan, and am glad I did. On low, the ceiling fan is absolutely inaudible. "LOUD and OBNOXIOUS ", This fan is so noisy that it didn't even last five minutes in our home. We got rid of it. We own an older metal frame LAKEWOOD fan (similar in size to this Blizzard) that operates very quietly. However, I understand that Lakewood has moved their manufacturing to China and their quality is in the toilet. Save your money and buy something besides the Blizzard unless you want a NOISY fan. "Good night's sleep", I LOVE this fan. I can't sleep without a fan blowing both for the white noise and to keep me cool. I've had this one for several years and it's starting to wear out, so I'll probably get a new one before long. Some people mention the noise it makes; admittedly, when I first plugged it in and turned it on, it definitely seemed loud. But on the lowest setting, it's not loud enough to really bother you unless it's blowing directly in your ear or something. And, if you need it to sleep as I do, then you'll definitely notice when it ISN'T on. If you're looking for a strong fan for whatever reason, this is an excellent choice. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Works great", Works great, much better than my other small one. Was all I needed to aid me at night. Recommend. "Works for my son...", I bought it for my 16 year old son and he likes it. The fan works well, it is powerful, good size and design. He uses it while sleeping but to tell you the truth I couldn't do that. It seems noisy to me even at the lowest speed... but I'm sensitive to noises, mainly at night. So I recommend this fan only if you are not like me. (I found it noisy since I took it from its box, which means without dust; but, like I said, works great for my son.) "fan", This is not the first time I have purchased the Holmes HAOF-90UC 10-inch 3 speed blizzrd table fan. Over the years I have purchased at least 3 or 4. I love them. I use them daily and have recommended them to friends. The only thing is that you have to be diligent in vaccumming the blades periodically or the dust builds up and the blades tend to rub and make noises that are noticable which can be irritating if you are sensitive to different noise levels. "the breeze", This little guy puts out some serious windage no doubt. However, it seems a tad noisy to me. "Yes, it is really loud!", I can attest to what many of the other reviewers are saying: at its lowest setting, this fan is very loud! I suppose you can think of it as white noise, but it's almost loud enough to go beyond that. If you turn the fan up to medium or high, it gets even louder, but really, I don't see any reason to go above the already-powerful low setting in an office or home office setting. One or two other reviewers have stated that the fan is quiet. Perhaps there is a quality control issue and it depends on the individual fan you end up with. On the plus side, the fan really does get the air moving. It has a three-year warranty, which is better than a lot of the cheaper or "no-name" fans. I'm keeping this fan. I wonder if it will last 18 years, like the one it's replacing. Remember to check back in 2025 and I will let you know! |
