Others say...
"They are what they are" These rings are exactly what they say they are, rings to cook eggs with. They say you can also do pancakes, but I don't know who likes pancakes that small or why you need a perfectly round 3.5 inch pancake, although I guess you could use them to make crumpets as well. The product works well and cleans up easy. My only issue is finding the perfect heat/ time balance so they are cooked through but not browned like the people at the golden arches are able to. "Different than McDonald's..." As a person who used to work for Mickey D's, there are some differences with the tool they use to make Egg McMuffins. Theirs is heavy duty, felt like cast iron. Before cooking, we coated them quite liberally with melted butter, then cracked the eggs into the rings. Next step was to break the yolks with a spatula. Finally, the step that differs most from these rings - we added a heavy lid over them which had an integral little cup with a small hole in the bottom. We would fill the cup with water and the water would seep under the lid, hitting the grill and steaming the eggs to completion. I haven't used this item, but imagine if you are looking to duplicate the McDonald's process and want to avoid 'egg seepage' you may want to look for a heavier duty set and perhaps find a way to duplicate the lid idea. "Good product." I purchased several sets of these for the Church to use when we have a pancake event(cooking greater than 50 pancakes in a short period of time). The rings did not stick and made well formed pancakes. The only draw back was the poorly designed device that was intended to pick up four of the rings at once...it was very flimsy and we ended up using tongs to remove the rings from the griddle because it was faster. If the center piece could be secured, the product would be perfect. The rings still performed very well utilizing the tongs and we cooked 250+ pancakes in 45 minutes using them. "Nonstick Egg/Pancake Ring, Set of 4" I love these things. Now I make my own Breakfeast Sandwiches like you can get in the stores. I haven't tried them with pancakes but I will. These are the right size for your Muffins so you can make the perfect Breakfeast Sandwich. "escaping eggs" I purchased the egg/pancake rings to make homemade versions of egg mcmuffins but when I used the rings the eggs run out from the sides all over the place! What a waste!

What our customer's say! "If you care about your health, don't buy it", I got a set, the coating start to peel off after 6 months. I didn't read the instruction (if any), so I might over heated it, if that's even possible. "Needs a lot of Improvement", Don't let the non-stick fool you. the first few times I used the rings, the eggs would come up with it. I use a little margarine on my finger and spread it around the rings and it solves that problem. Another problem is that the eggs will leak through the bottoms of the rings. I live with that and use the flat side of a butter knife and press down a little before I remove the rings. I think they could certainly improve this item. I would rather pay more for a heaver set. "My granddaughter is happy now!!!!", Not long ago, my 5 year old granddaughter was visiting, and I made her an breakfast egg sandwich. She told me, "Grandma, the egg isn't round like I get at school." After looking at every store I could think of to purchase egg rings, and not being able to find them, I turned to Amazon.com. After looking at the numerous sets they have, and reading the reviews of all of them, I decided to purchase this set. And let me tell you, they are great. Like a lot of the reviews stated, I did spray a little non-stick spray in them. And to avoid leakage of the egg white under the ring, I did put the ring into the frying pan and heated it for about 30 seconds. And guess what?? I now have perfectly round fried eggs for my breakfast sandwiches. They fit perfectly on a muffin....just the right size. And they clean up easily, too. I must say, I have never tried the handle due to the fact that I never make more than 3 fried eggs at a time. But I have had no problem removing the ring using a pair of tongs. I am VERY happy with this product, and have recommended it to many people. I was very anxious for the next time my granddaughter came, so that I could make her a breakfast sandwich. And, needless to say, she was very surprised and happy. Just let me tell you, you can't go wrong with this set. "One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.", OK, so these egg/pancake rings aren't exactly cursed but you'd think this product was downright evil after reading some of these reviews. Perhaps, most people are expecting too much. These rings work and respond best to a gentle cooking hand. I've tried eggs and pancakes both and have had great success. The more I use the rings, the more proficient I've become. HERE'S A TIP: You don't want to overfill the rings. Give it a gentle shake to loosen the pancake from the edges before lifting the rings away. I like this product because it allows me to produce pancakes that are PERFECTLY SIZED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. I make a huge batch on Sunday and put enough in the freezer to last the week. BTW: We've owned the rings for more than a year and the NONSTICK SURFACE is holding up well. "Difficult to use", This product is difficult to use all 4 egg rings at once. You cannot simply lift the rings away the eggs always stick. I found u need to seperatte the eggs from the side of the ring then lift. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Not totally effective, but will work", These are not truly non-stick rings. I have to spray them with cooking spray before using them for eggs. Also, the eggs come from under the ring. Overall, they do the job. "Not as thrilled as hoped", I purchased this item to cook eggs in an isolated location. The rings are not very heavy and did not sit well in the pan and egg whites seeped easliy underneath and created more of a mess than a round fried egg. I would believe the same thing would occur with pancakes. This item needs to be made of a heavier material to sit on the pan and not allow leaking. "breakfast in a hurry", Gave these as a gift to my son. He loves them and can make a homemade egg on a muffin in a blink. "So-so gadget", I used these to make egg mcmuffins. They definitely need to be sprayed with PAM or some cooking spray prior to use, as they tear the side of the egg when you go to remove the ring. So they should not be billed as "Non-stick". Also, a little clunky to store. You can put all four together with the clip they give you, but I don't have room to store that way, so I take them apart. "Lasted about a year, used twice a week", I had to buy a new set after a year, because the teflon wore off. Even before the teflon wore off, I needed to use a lot of cooking spray to keep the eggs from sticking. But I'm buying more after a year because they do the job. Makes very nice eggs for English muffins. I can't imagine using these rings for pancakes. The batter would ooze out, I'm sure. I guess you'd have to use super-thick batter. ![]() |
