"Essential for Grilling and Smoking"
This is the one item that I use every time I use my grill or smoker. They are easy on and off and provide good overall heat protection for your hands and forearms. Now that being said, you can burn your fingers through them, but I never expected that this couldn't happen. If you plan on picking up burning hot coals or embers.....expect to burn your hands.

When the pair that I have now wears out...I wouldn't hesitate in buying a replacement pair....as a matter of fact, I wouldn't buy anything but.

"These are NOT fire-proof"
Don't get me wrong. I love these things. The only problem is that they're not entirely heat-proof. They're meant to be used when handling hot stuff, not to be confused with handling fire. I have several scorch marks on my gloves because I wasn't careful with them. Use them as the manufacturer advises; as an aid to handling utensils and food on a hot grill. If you want something fireproof, buy something made of asbestos, but be prepared to pay a lot more money for them.

"Excellent!"
My Partner bought these for me. I actually use them for indoor cooking because most cooking mitts don't go far enough up the arm. The gloves are helpful when you have to reach further back into your oven. I also love the freedom of individual finger movement. The only 2 downfalls are (A) They had a VERY strong chemical smell when I first opened the package (Thankfully it disappeared over time), (B) They don't have a ring to allow you to hang them on a wall hook.

"Eastman Outdoors 13-Inch Cooking Gloves"
This product said it could pick up coals and I tried to do that and burned my hands through the gloves. Not worth the money I paid!

"cooking gloves"
Saving the hair on my knuckles is greatly appreciated. I am a serious bbq-er and have been looking for gloves that provide better protection from hot lump. These work perfectly and I strongly recommend them.

What our customer's say!

"Super gloves", These are basically the same as welders gloves only nicer looking. I have used them quite a few times and they work quite well, I can pick up the cast iron pan I use for wood chips and not suffer the usual scorched fingers....

"Soft", They have a very soft interior and a hefty liner to prevent me from getting burnt. The one size fits all helps and you can compare this product to industrial welding gloves.

"just OK", I bought these to do outdoor bbq. I had expected they would be more heat resistant than they turned out to be. will keep you from getting burned at least, and they are comfortable to wear and use. not too bad for the price...

"Heat is not your friend!", These are really good gloves. They are lightweight, flexible, and long enough to keep your forearms from getting burned. They look good, too!

I leave mine in the storage area of my grill and use them when I need to shift a hot grate or add coals.

There is a trade-off with the fact that they are thin and light, though, and that's the heat handling ability. They will work fine for picking up something hot and moving it, but they don't have the heavy lining that would allow them to better manage sustained heat, like holding something hot for more than a short period of time. For me, they work perfectly for grilling, but keep this in mind if you have a different application.

"If ya cant take the heat dont buy these gloves", These gloves really didn't provide enough heat protection in my view. They look good and are well put together but i bought them to protect my hands from heat... So not really happy with them.

"Buy them you are not faster than fire", These were absolutely essential for me. I have been moving stuff in our fireplace or moving racks on the Grill (even though the fireplace/BBQ tools were right there) because I always thought I could do it quick enough and not singe my fingers. Well one of my friends had these and I was so impressed with the concept that someone actually made something like this. I bought these with my Weber Smoker and absolutely love them. However I still fall into my old habits when they are sitting within reach... IMPORTANT!! you must wear them for best results!

"Awesome product", By far the best grill mits I know of. Nothing better than picking up a glowing coal and moving it to the other side of the grill to really affect your slow cooking.

"Good, but not so heat resistant", These gloves are good because they cover the whole hand and wrist, allow for good manual dexterity, and stand up well to abuse.

My only gripe is that they allow a lot of heat in, eventually. Sure, you can grab a hot cookie sheet from an oven, but if you leave the glove on your hand for 10 seconds that heat is going to transfer and make it very uncomfortable for your fingers. So if you use them, make sure to take 'em off right after you're done grabbing the hot stuff.

"Wonderful cooking gloves - would be even better with hanging loops", I love these thick, high quality gloves. I use them for the grill and in the kitchen. They protect my hands from heat really well. Also, we have a gas stove and we've burned many regular cotton oven mitts. These gloves seem flame resistant and have not been burned at all - which is why we purchased these.

The only disappointment is they don't have hanging loops, so we have to leave them on the counter.

Another thing that annoyed me some is the product description didn't indicate $14.95 is for a PAIR of gloves, not just one.

"Eastman Outdoor 13 inch cooking gloves", Well insulated and constucted gloves. They might be a little snug if you have large hands.
