"Coffee for the coffee snob"
The Bodum Chambord 48oz press is the second Bodum press I've owned.

Basically, its amazing. Makes about 5 standard mugs of coffee. The only downsize is waiting for water to boil.

"Outstanding coffee"
I have had this product for three months now and it takes coffee to a whole new level. It brings out flavors that are not apparent in a conventional drip coffee maker.

As noted by others, the coffee maker is simple to use and I have not had any difficulties with the French press at all. However, the carafe is made of thin glass and appears to be easily breakable. To avoid this, I have been using a rubber spatula for both stirring and grind removal purposes.

Bodum now makes a double walled insulated carafe, which I will consider as a replacement if the glass breaks. Ordinarily, I would have rated this 5 stars for the quality of the coffee; it was downgraded because of the quality of the glass carafe.

"coffee press"
Long while ago, I saw similar product at a friend's house wondering if it does make the taste of coffee any difference. A few months ago a close friend gave me two bags of coffee bean from Java. I finally made an effort to search for a hand-cranked coffee grinder and a coffee press. As soon as I received the products I bought on Amazon, I was excited to try them. The aroma and the taste of coffee made my daily morning ritual even more satisfactory. This product seems to be durable and easy to clean. I love it.

"Best coffee ever!"
My husband and I are both coffee fanatics and love the Bodum Chambord. It's easy to use and, although some people have complained about cleaning the unit, we found it no more time consuming than any cleaning any other coffee maker. The coffee that it makes is so smooth that it's difficult to go back to coffee brewed using other methods. Needless to say the best results come from using good beans. We love Trader Joe's Ultra Dark Sumatra beans. Once you master grinding the beans just right, you're all set. Some people mentioned that only the most expensive grinders will do. We have an inexpensive Braun and it works just fine.

"A good cup of Coffee"
I purchased the Bodum Chambord Coffee Press and have used it only on a couple of times. It takes too long to prepare and brew for it to be used in the morning before I head out for work. It's good for after dinner coffee and it takes practice to get the coffee the strength that you like. It does make a very rich cup of coffee and I would purchase it again for those times when I have the time to let it brew properly.

What our customer's say!

"Much better than drip brewers", We were buying whole beans at Peets, using a burr grinder on a daily basis and a quality Cuisinart drip brewer but something was missing. It seemed as if the different roasts always tasted the same when served. A Peets employee suggested the Bodum French Press and it truely makes a huge difference. Each of those roasts or blends now has its own unique flavor and aroma.
It is a little less convenient than your drip machine, but if you are paying $11-$14 for a pound of whole beans, you are already committed to the best cup possible. On the other hand, if your coffee comes ground out of a can, this probably isn't for you. It's likely not worth the effort.

"Loved it - until it broke", This press made the best coffee, so good I was able to overlook how annoying it was to clean. Unfortunately, as so many others have pointed out, the glass is extremely fragile and all it took was a slight bump in the sink and it cracked. I'm replacing it with a press of more sturdy construction.

"Great French Press", Love this large French Press. Large size makes getting 3+ 12 OZ cups a snap. Size really better than the 32 OZ we used before. Don't run out of coffee or don't have to fill to the very top like before.

It works well and have nothing bad to say. Would buy again immediately if I happen to break it.

"Best cup of coffee ever.", I don't think I can drink drip coffee again. I also purchased the Capresso electric glass kettle which boils water very quickly so it doesn't take any extra time to make this than it did for drip. Amazon had the best price also, I shopped around. Be sure to follow the directions carefully especially when it says to use a coarse grind. I could see the filter being ruined by finely ground coffee. The Starbucks Pikes Place is wonderful as well as Trader Joe's Columbian/Sumatra blend. I could never drink black coffee before and now I can.

"Glass Breaks Too Easily", DO NOT BUY ANY BODUM COFFEE OR TEA PRESS THAT CONTAINS GLASS. BODUM USES A SPECIAL GLASS THAT IS EXTRAORDINARILY FRAGILE AND BREAKS FOR NO APPARENT REASON.

I love Bodum Coffee Presses. But I would NEVER recommend anyone buy one with a glass beaker. You will need to replace the beaker frequently, since the special glass Bodum uses is extremely fragile, and breaks repeatedly for no apparent reason at all. I replaced four beakers, two glass tea presses, and several beakers from milk frothers in short order before giving up. Make no mistake, you do not have to bang the glass against anything for it to break. It simply cracks spontaneously for no apparent reason

Bodum has come out with some presses with a LEXAN clear plastic beaker.
These do not break. I assume they came out with the LEXAN product because of problems with the glass. Be warned. Bodum Chambord 8-Cup Coffee PressBodum Chambord 12-Ounce Coffee Press

"For the Fresh Coffee Fanatic", I'm into brand loyalty. I picked up a 4-cup Bodum at a local thrift store and had been happy with it until I realized why it was at the thrift-store: faulty connection at the end of the shaft.

I happened upon this 12-cup press when it was a bargain at $19.99. Now, each Sunday morning, when I'm sifting through 6-lbs of newspaper, I fill this beauty up and work my way down to the bottom cup by cup (with my husband's help of course).

I love the extra grittiness of each cup that a French press provides as compared to an electric coffee maker. Reminds me of New Years in Paris.

"Bodum Chambord 48-ounce Press-CoffeeI ordered", I ordered the Bodum Coffee Press as a gift for my husband. It arrived in excellent shape within two days, and we enjoy using it every morning. It is a wonderful way to make good coffee. And, it also makes a wonderful presentation when serving at the table.

"BEST DAMN COFFEE PERIOD.", first of all I have only been a coffee drinker for the past 3-4 months before I purchased the Bodem french press, but from the very first sip of the french pressed coffee, I was won over. There is such a difference in the boldness of the flavor. Even with cheap coffee, you can have a good tasting coffee. It's like getting more bang for your buck, but in this case BEAN. I bought the 48 oz, but I think I'll look into a smaller 16 oz for my personal use.

"Bodum French press rocks!", this is the only way to make coffee and Bodum has created the perfect system to it. It takes a few seconds more time, but oh is it worth it! Their cup measurement is about 1/2 of a mug sized cup, so be aware of that when you consider which size press you order.

"bodum chambord 48oz coffee press", the product made an excellent pot of coffee. following directions carefully i made the coffee.....it did't have the bitter taste that coffee can have....it was a clean fresh taste that even my non-coffee drinking husband loved and now asks for regularly....the price of the pot was very affordable and the chrome and glass go with any kitchen..i am going to order 4 more for my adult children and maybe one for my sister.
