"Cool gadget"
I am in heaven! We have a dog that eats part canned food, love Italian food which means opening lots of canned tomatoes, and I bought a manual can opener about every 2 months since all of them stopped cutting after a short time. This opener is not only cordless (big plus, you can use it anywhere without dragging a cord through the kitchen), fast, quiet, and cuts right through the metal like butter. I also like that the attached magnet holds the lid after it is detached from the can. No more cuts on my fingers. Another plus is that you can actually clean the blade and wheel, no nasty food leftovers anymore.

Considering what a good, manual can opener costs, this is a bargain, even if the battery won't last forever as some reviewers mentioned. I will just buy a new one.

"Can Opener"
I bought this as a gift for a friend who has very limited dexterity in her hands. It is really easy for her to use and she is delighted with it. Also, it is very easy to clean, which is a big plus.

"So far so good"
We bought this to replace our "Gizmo" can opener when the battery finally stopped accepting charges (After 4 years).

We didn't want an under-the-counter unit, so we decided to give this one a try. So far it is at least as good as the Gizmo was, but even seems easier to get lined up on the can.

We can only hope for the money that it lasts 4+ years as well.

"Black and Decker makes good products"
This is the second one I've owned... I am very pleased with the new ergo features this item has.

"convenient can opener"
This is the best can opener I could find. I had one for about 10 years by Black and Decker with a wall mounted charger/storage place. I tried to get another after it was worn out, but this is the closest I could find. I like it, but it has to sit on the counter and take up precious space. It is almost the same as the original, can go anywhere you need to open cans and it can be hands-free.

What our customer's say!

"Can opener", Exactly what I was looking for. My other can opener of the same type finally went kaput and I could not find one like it anywhere in the stores. This one works great and would recommend it to anyone.

"Shame on Black and Decker", I have a house full of Black and Decker appliances and power tools. This product is very attractive and ergonomic in its design. That is where B&D's reputation ends. The can opener must be placed a certain way in the base or it will not charge. It will not open a large can as the battery goes dead 3\4 of the way around the lid. The cutter falls off when you raise the handle to remove the opener from the can. I have never been disappointed in a B&D product before. This one is very poor. Shame on B&D for allowing an appliance of this poor quality to wear its proud name.

"Best canoperner ever!", I had one of these openers for 5 years before it finally died. I could not find it in any of my local stores, but of course Amazon had it in stock! It is so much better than a stand alone can opener because it fits any size can. No trying to lift heavy, over sized cans off the counter to fit under the blade! Plus it takes up very little room on the counter and can be used anywhere you need it. This is the only can opener I will ever own.

"Had ours 16 years...now its dying.", Our can opener is now dying after about 16 years. It isnt holding a charge all of a sudden. We like the opener very much. Have there been many changes to the design over the years? I am seeing that some say the opener is only lasting a year or two. That would not be good as the one we have now lasted along time.

"THE BEST", Have owned mine since 2000. It just died, my fault dropped in kitchen sink full of water. NEVER had a problem with it in all those years.
would recommend 100%

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Best can opener ever!", This is the best electric canopener I have ever owned. It took me a few tries to learn where to place the blade for it to work, but now that I know to lay the two white tabs on top of the can edge, it works on the first try every time! It is very quiet, takes up very little space on my countertop, and is always charged and ready to use. I did my research and trusted the reviews and am very happy with it. It was also worth the wait to get the white/gray color that I wanted.

"Great can opener", This can opener is so easy to use and makes opening any can an easy task. Would recommend it to anyone.

"Cordless Can Opener for People w/Arthritis", My Mom has problems w/arthritis in her hands. She loves to cook, and is often in need of opening a can. Manual can openers are too bulky for her and hurt her to use due to the strength and pressure necessary, etc. Most large electric can openers are too clunky and often require one to hold the can for some time while they work so that the machine doesn't tip over. Under the shelf openers have their own challenges, but with this opener, she simply makes sure it's charged, sets it on top of the can, puts pressure on the arm at the top to make it lock, and then it "walks" around the can. It stops automatically when the job's done. The arm is wide, so it's easy for her to pop it off, too! Works like a dream and a real welcomed appliance for my aged Mom's kitchen!

"Convenient and Easy to Use!", This is our second version of the Black and Decker can opener. Our old one finally started to burn out after 5 years. This version is even easier to use and looks much nicer. The best part about it is that, it takes up very little counter space.

"Ergo can opener", Really happy with this product for the most part. We work ina restaraunt and have to open multiple cans each day. This liitle can opener we call"The Magic Can Opener" works beautifully. It will usually open at least 6 #10 cans and we keep it charged all the time because we never know when we'll need it. I have arthritic thumbs and this is a god send for me.
The only drawback I could find would be that it sometimes doen't track on the big cans. But for regular cans it's GREAT!!!
