"coffeepot"
this pot was just what i wanted. i wanted a real perk taste without the hastle of an electric pot always breaking. i highly recommend this product - - it is indistructable.

"Stovetop percs are the best"
if you like hot, strong coffee as I do. I use a liquid cream so a cold creamer added to very hot coffee still remains hot. The plastic top hasn't caused any problems.

"great buy"
This is the best little coffee pot for the money. Coffee is very hot and no grounds in the bottom of my mug. Know that you have to follow the directions and keep an eye on this pot so that it doesn't boil over--whole process takes about 20 minutes on my smooth glass top stove. If you don't have this kind of time in the morning, stick with a drip model or an electric percolator that doesn't need watching. Coffee is still fresh and hot when I drink it an hour or two after my husband has made it. Quality is very good--I expected that from Farberware; USA made--yipee! Unlike some of the other reviewers, I haven't had a problem with the small plastic top becoming too loose. I did purchase the glass replacement top but have not had to use it yet. This simple stovetop pot makes better tasting, hotter coffee than we have had over many years of using different brands of drip machines, ever since we owned the original Ohio made Mr. Coffee back in the early 70's. Well worth its bargain sale price even if you use it only on weekends and if you have the time and patience to wait for it to brew. Often, the least complicated appliances give the best results.

"R.I.P. Electric Percolator"
After going through 3 electric percolators (1 Farberware and 2 GEs) this past year, I decided to make coffee the old-fashion way. Boy, am I glad I bought this pot several months ago. Here is how I make our coffee: always use one tablespoon coffee per 1 cup of coffee, bring cold water to a boil then put coffee basket into pot, perk 7 minutes, shut off and leave on burner until coffee settles. (My dad is smiling in heaven knowing I remembered how to make the coffee the "real" way!)

"genuine coffee"
At first, I was not getting the coffee strength I wanted; then I carefully checked the manual again; I was using expresso coffee, so I had to let it perk for about 8-10 minutes; then I added regular ground coffee to my expresso mix; now the coffee is perfect; and it is very hot; not like an electic drip; I can take this anywhere.
love it.

What our customer's say!

"Farberware Classic Stainless Percolator", This product is superb. A long-term coffee drinker like me loves the untainted flavor of boiled coffee and this stainless steel perk does the job as I remember from years before the glass electric drip.
Bravo!!!!!!!

"CLASSIC", Just as advertised, an old-fashioned percolator. Built well, and a very attractive design. Everytyhing you want when you don't have electricity.

"Does Its Job at a Bargain Price", OK, do you like perked coffee? I do, but it ain't for everybody. If you like it perked, you can't do better than this model. Timeless styling, and stainless steel (not that aluminum junk). Works flawlessly, goes right into the dishwasher. My only gripe is that it does not come with operating instructions. My technique is, once you load it up with water and coffee, bring to a boil, reduce the heat a little, and let it perk for 4 and half minutes. Watch out, perked coffee is (literally) boiling hot!

"Stovetop percolator", I love this stovetop percolator; it makes an excellent pot of coffee - good and hot! There's nothing to break, and it will last forever. I would highly recommend it. Also, you can't beat the price.

"Makes ADC Obsolete", For the past 20 years or more I've used ADC systems; they don't compare to perked coffee. But, I never felt comfortable with the old style aluminum perculators because of the potential for drinking disolved metallic salts - a personal thing. Also, ADC systems can grow bacteria quickly that I'd prefer not to drink. This perculator brewed a nice tasting pot of coffee within 10 minutes. It's easy to clean and requires no filter. I will stick to perked coffee from now on.

"Makes coffee, but............................", I was delighted to have perked coffee this morning but am disappointed somewhat in a percolator that retails for $40+. Farberware found a way to make what should be an almost indestructible item cheaply. It's sad that they used high quality stainless steel, then added a plastic perk top and rather than making the pole with a notch to hold the coffee grounds cup, they put a stupid little spring that will not last. But don't worry, they have replacements!!! This was nothing other than to try and guarantee continuing revenue from this item. The first cup of coffee poured contained dripped coffee from around the plastic perk top. Another thing that was disappointing is the engineering and construction of the bottom of the percolator. Farberware obviously realized that the bottom needed to be at least as large as the small element on electric stoves to alleviate energy waste. They did make the bottom bigger, but all they did was add an approximately 3/8 inch edge around the bottom of the percolator. This edge is higher than the actual bottom of the percolator and does not make contact with the stove element. Therefore, it is just as energy-wasteful as the older models. Also, the perimeter of the bottom of the pot on the inside is a tiny space when coffee grounds can linger and it's all but impossible to get them out. Farberware might do well to replace it's engineering staff!!! I have an aluminum percolator that I've had since 1970 with nothing on it that could go bad other than the handle, which it has not. I just thought I'd like a new shiny stainless steel percolator for the kitchen, which I did get. I did buy a glass replacement perk top and will sauder a piece of metal on the pole when the spring goes bad. I would not recommend buying this or any percolator online; go to the store and inspect it, inside and out, before buying. There MAY be a better alternative than this one.

"Started leaking the first time used", We have an old Farberware that is pretty solid but needed a new glass top and since have found one ....but we purchased this perculator and found that the first time we used it it leaked from the lid....it's designed better than our old stovetop perculator but I can't give it a 5 or even 4 star because now the glass top seal has cracked and I had to run to the hardware store for a replacement. Not too happy with this product...they definately need to make it stronger.

"Stove top Coffee pot", This was a gift for a friend. She was very happy with it and says it works perfectly.

"Makes great coffee!", This percolator works very well on a propane stove. I made my first pot of coffee a few weeks ago in it and I was very impressed. No filters are needed. Initially I was a little concerned about the provided filter after placing coffee in it. It looked like the coffee grounds would seep through and end up in the bottom of the pot. My concerns were not warranted; hardly any coffee grounds made it into the pot.
My only complaint is that there are not any directions on how to use this item. I am 34 years old and I have never used a percolator in my life, though I do remember my parents using one when I was young. Whatever I did worked and I can only imagine right now what the coffee will be like on a cold morning exiting my tent out in the mountains. I will find out soon. Well worth the cost.

"Not like the old ones'", This product is made well, however, the design (wider and slightly shorter) is different enough compared to the older design that while perking the coffee "spurts" out of the pouring nozzle. I liked the older design better.
