"A Top Quality Product-Does what is Claimed"
In addition to being attractive looking, it is a rapid boiler, so I make my much needed first "cuppa" in a flash. Product performs as advertised! Winnie P.

"Fair electric kettle"
I picked up this kettle a year and a half ago because my husband is an avid tea drinker, and I hated to wait over a kettle waiting for it to boil on the stove top.

This kettle does boil water quickly (a minute or so for a full kettle of water), but there is no whistle or automatic shut off, so you do need to wait for it to boil. It also cleans up well after using it to cook soup or noodles. The adjustable level setting is also handy if you plan on using it to cook with.

Overall, it's a decent purchase, but I got mine for about half the price here. If I were spending close to $25, I'd look around for a model with automatic shut off setting.

"Great buy"
This hot pot is great in the dorm. It boils fast, cleans easy, and is small enough to not be a problem. I haven't had any problems with a "placticy" taste, and really no problems overall.

"Missing a basic function"
While researching inexpensive electric kettles for the occasional in-office cup of tea, I checked for capacity, ease of cleaning, etc., but I never thought to check if it would actually TURN OFF. After ordering this 45802 Hot Pot I failed to note that the temperature dial goes from Warm to Boil but has no actual Off position. After boiling my first cup of water on Friday (which did work nicely) I left, only to come back on Monday to discover that the pot was warm! Luckily there was still some water in it and no damage done. In addition, I have also found that the way that the lid seals near the handle is prone to leave a small gap through which boiling steam will escape as you tip it forward, thus exposing your hand to an unpleasant surprise. I think that someone let the junior engineer work on this one and would choose another model next time.

"Good value for money but mind the gap!"
I purchased this product in the mistaken belief that it was a kettle; i.e. that it boils water and then turns off. It doesn't. It boils water, and any other liquid one cares to put in it, but then maintains the temperature at a given level.
To that extent the product is very good value for money.
It has no visible heating elements so scale is not a problem and it looks nice. As a hot pot, the only drawback I can find is that a gap develops between the back of the lid and the handle when pouring liquid. This, of course, means that steam can escape and provide a nasty shock by scalding one's hand; nothing fatal, just a little annoying. The other annoyance is that there is no "Off" switch, which means that I have to take the plug out when I have finished using it. However, for [the price] I can't really complain too much.

What our customer's say!

"Proctor Silex Hot Pot", LOVE IT!!!!! I have this one in my office to make Ramen Noodles. I put the water in, It boils in under 2 minutes, I add noodles and presto, I have lunch in under 4 minutes. I've been using this for about a year now and it still looks and works like new. All I do is rinse it out as soon as I am finished eating. I can't imagine having anything that would be more convenient or reliable.

"Pretty good", quick boiling.
the only thing I don't like is there is no auto turn-off function when it is boiling.

"Not what I expected.", I must have misread the description on this item. I thought I could do more than boil water with it. No brochure came with it to describe uses.

"My Thoughts on the Kettle", On the whole I like it very much. I'm not fond of the fact that it won't turn off automatically, and if the lid isn't on perfectly the steam can give your wrist a little "ouch". Otherwise I'm pleased with it and use it on a daily basis.

"Satisfactory product", The product is satisfactory. It heats quickly. I do wish that the cord could be disconnected from the unit.
