"tiny in every way"
The Zelco Brisk Brew is the tiniest coffeemaker on the market. I looked for weeks in the stores and never found anything smaller or more convenient to fit in our luggage. It really comes in handy in a pinch. The only problem is after you brew one cup, you have to wait for it to cool off( about ten minutes) before you can brew another one. It's great for a single coffee drinker, but not very practical for a couple.

"Zelco Brisk Brew Travel Coffeemaker"
I really love this coffee maker. I am single and don't like making a large pot of coffee. One cup at a time is fine for me. I always buy whole bean Starbucks French Roast coffee. I keep it in the freezer, in a sealed container, until I am ready to grind it. I usually grind enough for about a week and keep the ground coffee in the freezor also. I put 3 level teaspoonfuls in the Zelco basket and let it brew. The coffee turns out tasting better then what you can buy at the Starbucks coffee shops. I never go to Starbucks anymore for coffee. I love the Zelco Brisk Brew so much that I bought 2 Zelco Brisk Brew coffee makers. One I use every day and the other is sitting in reserve if the every day one breaks down. I don't want to be without a functioning Zelco Brisk Brew coffee maker because I love the taste of the coffee that it makes. You need to buy this coffee maker because you never tasted coffee like this. I take the Zelco out of town also, I never want to be without it.

"Sent It Back!!"
I spent $39.99 on this coffeemaker. When I received it, I thought..."this thing is about $20-25 overpriced." Still, I tried it by running hot water through it as instructed. First, why is there an ON button?? It doesn't depress and doesn't work! The unit came on as soon as I plugged it in. Trying hitting the ON button to shut it off and it still doesn't work. Better have that cup under the unit before plugging it in. Second, I know that it is a compact unit, but it is SLOW. I can only imagine how it pumps once it is also going through coffee grounds. Since the unit is defective (ON button) and not up to my expectatations, this was returned.
As I review this, I notice that the price has dropped to about $22. Much better price, but still not worth it in my opinion.

"A great little device"
I'm an inveterate tea drinker (even traveling with my special, loose-leaf blend), so I especially appreciate this cracker-jack device which lives up to its hype: compact enough to tuck away in the suitcase and producing sufficiently hot water to produce an excellent cuppa'.

"very satisfied"
i went on a 2 week cruise... the though of drinking ship coffee was distressing... so...i bought the zbb. with the zbb and my personal stash of peets coffee...well...i was in cruise heaven... it doesn't make a huge mug of coffee...but enough to quench my thirst for a good cuppa joe... i'm not particular about a spotlessly clean coffee basket...so...its easy to rinse out and brew a second cup quickly.

What our customer's say!

"Ahhh! MY morning coffee on the road!", My morning just isn't "right" unless I have coffee in hand while I get ready. I also use a blend of 1/2 decaf and 1/2 regular for the sake of my stomach. The coffee provided by so many hotels will cause stomach issues for me. And like so many other reviewers, I was disgusted by the lack of coffee in my Vegas hotel rooms. I hated getting cleaned up enough to go stand in line for an overpriced cup to take back to the room. Realizing that I'd be there for a third time in six months, I had to take action. Research led me to this little Zelco. I couldn't be happier!

It came in well packaged. Very simple to put together.

I took to heart the advice of others to try out before traveling with it and was glad I did. It took a little practice to get the right amount of coffee plus grind plus bean to get that "right" cup of coffee.

It truly is small. It takes up less space than my make-up bag and I'm no "glamour girl".

It also comes with little (I do mean little) storage containers and a collapsable spoon. I didn't use the containers. It didn't seem like they'd hold more than a day or two of coffee--but I didn't really check it out closely. The little spoon is handy for using with the coffee-maker and stiring in you favorite additives, but that's it. It isn't sturdy enough for anything else.

It is a bit on the messy side for cleaning up. The little basket that holds the coffee is a challenge to get all the grounds out of. I generally emptied most in the trash and then just put more coffee in to make the next cup. I didn't do a complete clean up until done for the morning. I took an old toothbrush and used a little of my shampoo for the "washing-up".

The start button is a little difficult to catch to the on postition, but seemed to work better as I continued to use the machine.

In our household, I'm the only coffee drinker, but I can imagine that it might be a bit challenging to make enough coffee to keep two people going in the morning. In that situation, it might be better to take two spare mugs so the you can continue to use the coffee-maker's cup to catch the brew.

It's very minor, but I was pleasantly surprised at how cleanly the cup poured when I used it to put water into the reservior. I would also pour the end of a cup into a glass so I could start the next cup. It never dripped (and I have trouble pouring a cup of coffee out of a pot without dripping all over!)

If you travel and want YOUR cup of coffee in the morning (or afternoon or night), I encourage you to make one of these your regular traveling companion.

"Fantastic travel companion!", My wife and I travel outside the U.S. with some frequency. I purchased a Zelco 1-cup coffee maker about 3 years ago, and we have taken it to Asian and European countries where in many hotel rooms the most that can be expected is a way to heat water. This coffee maker has been a life-saver, from the standpoints of having a fresh cup of coffee in the morning and improving my wife's disposition. It has always functioned well, and it makes a great cup of strong coffee.

A previous review alluded to the on-off button not working. I have found that the button sometimes is "on" due to pressure against it by other items in my suitcase. After that first brew, it works just fine.

"I love this little guy!", I have used the Zelco Brisk Brew for many years. If you take care of this coffeemaker, it will take care of you when you want to use it. I have used all grinds in this machine, even espresso, and it always comes up with a great cup of coffee. It's also great for making tea, just fill it up with water and leave the coffee filter off. It's so compact that you can easily pack it and take it with you wherever you go!

"Nice little gadget", I was very surprised with this coffee maker! It makes great coffee. You have to practice a lot though to make it right. It has a very bad feature, which is that if you fill the filter all the way you end up with a mess everywhere and coffee grounds in your coffee. It's very lightweight, dual voltage and comes with its own pouch and accesories. I'm a flight attendant and I've used it already in foreign countries. It doesn't take much space in my suitcase. I totally recomend it but I give you heads up about trying it many many times before you go on a trip.

"Great little travel coffeemaker!", I travel a lot and one thing I've been missing is a very small coffee maker that brews my own coffee. I was planning a trip to South Africa and found out about the Zelco Brisk Brew on a travel blog site. After searching the internet, I bought one from Amazon.com. It arrived the day before I left on the trip, so I was able to try it out once before leaving and was quite impressed on the the quality of the coffee AND how fast it brewed. But would it perform that well with an adapter and in a foreign country? I was happily surprised that the coffee tasted great, and I think it actually brewed faster. I used it twice a day for two weeks and it was doing just fine. The only downside would be that each time it brews, you have to take the filter out of the receptacle and clean both items before making another cupful. This is also good for allowing the brewer to cool down. I had read on a blog that some people had a problem with the button/starter becoming stuck "on", but mine worked just fine; it would click off after the brewing was complete. The other nice part is that it compacts up and stores into its own little black pouch and takes up very little room in my luggage.
It's a great little travel gizmo!

"Great little coffee maker", Finally, now I can get a decent cup of coffee even in the UK! I travel a lot and find it challenging at times to locate a decent coffee on the road. This coffee maker fits easily in my small suitcase or carry on and brews a good cup of coffee. This is my first trip with it and don't have the grind right just yet. I'm using a medium grind (#5 from Peets) and it's too fine. Grounds are getting past the filter and into the coffee. I'm going to try a grind that's more appropriate for a french press when I get back home. The brew time seemed pretty fast to me. On 220v here in the UK it brewed a cup in 2 minutes. I'll try it again when I get back to the states to see if 110v makes a difference in brew time.

"A life savor ", Funny that others have mentioned business trips to Las Vegas. I go a few times a year and unlike virtually any place else, forget about finding a coffee maker in the room. And I NEED my cup of Joe in the morning. I saw the reviews for the Zelco and today, I used it (after a first test) in a Vegas hotel. I'm quite happy. Now the first cup is a bit slow (the 2nd was as fast as I'm used to from in room coffee makers). Clean up isn't super easy in a hotel room (dump the grounds in the trash, not the sink) but overall, this little guy makes a very tasty cup of coffee. I may need to experiment with how fine I grind the coffee; I'm usually a whole bean guy. The unit is easy to use and packs up nicely. The included cup seems too small but it's not. I even think the small containers are very nice since I was able to go down for a real breakfast and steal, I mean borrow some cream for tomorrows coffee. This really is a pretty ingenious product.

"A suitcase essential for coffee drinking travelers", This compact coffeemaker has been the best gift I ever gave my husband! He cannot function in the mornings without his cup of joe which can pose a BIG problem while traveling as most of the hotels we stay at (Vegas, Europe, S. America) do not supply a coffeemaker in the room. In order to save myself from his morning coffee withdrawals while on the road, I set off to find a coffeemaker that was compact, sturdy and would deliver a good cup of java. Voila! We've had this unit for over 3 years now; have taken it all around the globe with us (using a converter) and it still performs flawlessly. It is an amazingly compact, all-inclusive machine. Just add your favorite ground coffee (hubs brings his favorite-Kona!)and water. It does take a bit of time to brew a cup of coffee, but hubby uses this time to shower and his coffee is waiting for him when he's done and clean-up is as simple as dumping the grinds and rinsing everything out. At first, I thought the machine a bit pricey, but the money and time saved in not hitting up a Starbucks, etc. is well worth the cost, especially if you travel as often as he does. These days, the suitecases don't leave the house without the Brisk Brew! He tells me all the time how it's the best gift I ever gave him! Thank You Zelco!

"unhappy customer", It is difficult to review an item that Amazon has twice failed to deliver,
although all carriers arrive weekly with all types of other purchases.

"Compact for Travel", Great travel companion for brewing a single cup or heating water for single servings.
The small size is a bonus for saving packing space.
