"My best companion", I have a bissell 3545 for a long time now, say more than 3 years and still it works like the first time. I vaccuum all around my home (around 2000sqft) once in 3 days and this has kept up with all the bumps and hits and falls. It is good safe around furnitures and doesnt chip or break them. I say good one!
Pros: very sturdy, good suction
cons: long heavy cord, attachments kept behind are a bit loose and they fall. I took and kept them seperately.

"It doesn't hold up for 4 years", When I first purchased this vacuum, it was wonderful! It had great suction, was lightweight and very quiet. Attachments were easy to use.

Our first obstacle happened when we couldn't find the right size bags in many stores. We couldn't even find them at Best Buy where we had purchased the vacuum in the first place! Then we needed to replace a belt, and had a hard time finding the one to fit as well.

Now, after 4 years, the only time we get a decent vacuum from it is immediately after we change the bag. It just doesn't have good suction anymore.

"does the job", This vac does a great job and is well worth the price. Great features too.

"not pleased", I think its heavy,the cord is too short and a pain to roll up. The attachments fall off the side ,and the on/ off switch is low on the side.It does have good suction,but I find it annoying enough to buy a new vacuum.

"Good Buy", A friend of mine told me that with vacuums, you should always buy a fairly cheap one since they all stop working well after a year a two. After EXHAUSTIVE research on vacuums (including the CS buyer's guide), I settled on this one based on good rating and good customer reviews. I needed one that was easy to handle and not too heavy because of my back problems. I am happy to say that this is a pretty fine vacuum cleaner. It has good suction, bags are easy to change (and easy to find...) and is lightweight enough to manuever around my house. The real test was when I had to vacuum underneath a huge sleigh bed. It did the job quite well. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money on the bagless or high end vacuums because this one works just great (and i have 3 large dogs so it's gotten a workout). I recommend this to anyone looking for a low to mid priced vacuum that will clean well and last a while.

"Best value for money", Very good value for money. Not expensive. Performs thoroughly. It is lightweight, powerful, has headlight. Comes from a reputed company. Cleans well. It's upholstery tools are good quality. I love this vacuum, especially after having a harrowing experience with a past Eureka, BOSS vacuum.

"Good basic vacuum", This is a good, light-weight, low-cost vacuum. But in no way does this compare to the expensive Hoover Windtunnel self-propelled model. I had a Hoover Windtunnel, but it broke within two years, so I decided to go with a low cost replacement. This Bissell vacuum is ok, but it takes about twice the effort to move the vacuum compared to the self-propelled Hoover model and feels likes you have to go over the area about twice as much as to get the same cleaning as the Hoover. The Bissell may be quite effective for a small apartment, but if you have a large house, you may consider investing in something more substantial. Also, I wouldn't consider quietness as a factor in making a vacuum purchase. Though this vacuum is a little quieter than the Hoover, you aren't going to carry on any conversations.

"Best in Class", For sure, the best vacuum at this price point. The only reason I rated it a four is that, because the cord storage is on the side of the machine, it is necessary to unwind the cord before removing the hose tool (I'm not sure why this bothers me, but it does).

"Very pleased with my new vaccuum.", I bought this vaccuum based on price and the reviews already posted at Amazon. And I am very pleased to find the positive remarks I read are true. This is a great vaccuum. It is lightweight, powerful and quiet. What a wonderful change from the howling old upright I was using!

Great vacuum for the price. Has all the requirements I wanted when purchasing for my 1 bedroom apartment. It has a 12 amp motor, it's quite, light, has filtration and is designed well.

I researched vacuums and came up with the two best that I would have bought if price were not a consideration: the Hoover Self-Propelled with power attachment or the Eureka Ultra Smart Vac Boss Model 4870. I actually bought the Eureka over the Internet, but the vendor took too long in shipping it because of backorder. This gave me a chance to think over the purchase and I realized for my one bedroom apartment, I really didn't need a top of the line, costly vacuum. So I researched with price and AMP in mind.

The most important thing in the Bissell Powerglide Plus is that the bottom piece is constructed much like Hoover's Windtunnel models. The whole concept behind the Windtunnel is the shape of the plastic piece surrounding the roller brush. Take a look at some of the bottoms of a few vacuums. You'll notice the end of a "hose" on some models just pointing towards the ground. That "hose" area allows only a small section of suction. Dirt is being lifted, but the suction area is small because there's nothing to send dirt its way. You simply have to go over that area of carpet again. The molded plastic shape (Windtunnel design) allows the roller brush to funnel dirt towards the "hose" end. It's designed much like a canister type vacuum where the "head" creates a funnel to allow a greater suction area.

The filtration system is decent. No sealed True HEPA filtration here but adequate to prevent dust from going back into the room. You can feel the air that is being pushed back out from the suction. It comes out this post 3M filter attached on the side.

It's quite. I really doubted this one, but it is quite compared to my older Hoover that was in the same class. No jet plane taking off. Even my cat didn't even run away like it usually does when I break out my old vacuum.

The only issue is that it does not glide easily when pushed.

If money is an issue, and you still want the best, this one is it. The Bissell gives probably the best bang for your buck. You'll be hard pressed to find another vacuum for the price with these features.
