Others say...
"Worked great for about 6 months" I bought this vacuum when we purchased our house - with brand new low-pile carpet. Worked great for the first 6 months or so, but then started getting louder and louder every time I vacuumed. It eventually got so loud that we could hardly stand to use it. Then one day it just started smoking (burning electrical smell), lost power, and died. I would call this a great "disposable" vacuum. A good model to purchase until you can save for a nicer one. "Unbelievable Vacuum" I just got this vacuum cleaner and was amazed at how much dust and dirt it picked up from my seemingly clean carpet. You will be amazed! It's the best vacuum I've ever owned. "Best Vacuum Ever!!" Would give this 10 stars if I could. I have owned this vacuum since 12/25/02. I have only had one clog that was my fault, trying to pick up that spanish moss from my fake plant. Very easy to unclog, and continue with my cleaning. I own two long haired dogs and a very messy husband, and this still picks up every bit of dust, hair and dirt, as if it is brand new. There are no down falls to this product. All the filters are washable. You just have to buy the occasional belt, and routine cleaning on the vacuum, as with any appliance. This has not aquired any strange noise after a year. I suggest those people that experince that noise take better care of there belongings. I would totally recommend this vacuum to any one. "Good while it lasted." i bought this vacuum a few months ago. when i first bought it i thought bissell was the BEST. it was cheap and worked wonderfully. i was glad i found a vacuum i can use daily to clean the crumbs up after my toddler. the sucking power was like WOW. i wasnt happy about having to buy filters for it weekly. but thought if i want it to work right and longer i have to take care of it. but it was costly. then one day i used it to clean my car. after that day it will no longer suck anything into the tank. it all gets stuck in the hose. i have learned my listen on you get what you pay for. even though the fliters are costly, this vacuum was not worth it at all cause it only worked a few months. what a disappointment. thanks for nothing bissell. i have researched for a bagless no extra cost vacuum now and found the dyson animal. i have bought the newest version full gear. it cost alot of money, but it has a 3 year warrenty and no filters to BUY. hopefully i wont be buying a vacuum now until my toddler is in college. "Stay away..." Had this one for about a year and it worked great during those months. Just yesterday it started making funny noises and it smelled as if something was burning. Thought it was the belt but that was still in tact. Now, I am back on the market for another vaccum cleaner.

Bissell 35755 Cleanview HEPA Bagless Upright Vacuum
Why I buy this one ? - Bagless upright vacuum with easy-to-empty, washable dirt container, HEPA filtration - 13-1/2-inch cleaning path; headlight; three washable filters - User-friendly onboard tools: dusting brush, and crevice tool - Brush-roll adjusts to seven heights, including bare-floor - Lightweight (14-1/4 pounds); 42 inches high What our customer's say! "High Maintenance and messy.. ", The vaccum has good suction.. I was very happy with the suction and it worked like a charm for awhile. I had to tear the thing apart several times just to remove clogs... no fun but it still worked fine. Now, only after 8 months of having the thing, the motor blew. I mean it really blew.. smoke bellowing out of the thing and all. After doing bunches of research, it seems that many vaccum manufacturers make their vaccums intentionally to only last about a year. I will now be moving to a Dyson DC07. It is the cheapest of the dysons and it has a 5 year manufacturer warranty. All I have heard is good things about customer support also. In the long run, this is a much better financial decision instead of going with cheap vaccums every year. Sorry Bissell, another unhappy customer here. "What ?!?!?!?", You know, I'm not sure what it was but after a few months of use the noise output of this vacuum rivaled that of Air Force Jets, no, seriously. Other than that, I did like the vacuum. "It Doesn't Last", This vacuum worked great for about 8 months, then it just gave up. The suction doesn't pick up dirt from the heavier carpets, and the filters blow out more dust that the vacuum picks up. Not worth it. I made the mistake of buying something less expensive hoping it would work, but I won't make that mistake again. "If zero was a choice, then I would have chosen that...", I bought this vacuum last February and it worked wonderfully for about 5 months. Then we had problems with it every time we used it; and it had this awful burning smell and eventually broke. I'm not in the business of buying a new vacuum cleaner every year. Save your money and buy something a little pricier that will last longer. "What a mess", I've owned this vacuum for about 2 years now. At first, I liked it OK. I also have a Hoover Powermax Deluxe, and this Bissell wasn't on par with a Cannister Vacuum, but I figured it was OK for the price. Well, after a while, the filter got clogged and now, even though I rinse out the "dust cup" each time I use it, and the removable filter as well, it continues to get clogged frequently. The entire vacuum is covered with a fine dust, which re-appears each time I turn it on. I know this because when I turn it on, I see a cloud of dust puff out from the vacuum. I don't think this vacuum is necessarily any worse than other bagless vacuums, but that bagless vacuums in general do not work. People I've talked to seem to be unsatisfied with the bagless vacuum as well. My old 12 year old vacuum (with bag) is cleaner than this one. I have to buy filters for this bagless vacuum. I don't see the difference between buying expensive filters, or bags. I'll never buy another bagless vacuum, and I don't recommend this one. ![]() Read this reviews before You buy... "Mine died too!", Sounds like everyone's 35755 works great for about a year, then dies. Mine also got louder after about a year, smelled like it was burning, and all but stopped sucking. Took the whole thing apart, made sure nothing was clogged, didn't find anything. The belt was fine too. But the motor was still burning hot after sitting for 15 minutes. I think Bissell used cheap electric motors in these, so they die after ~12 months. I bought this vacuum based on Amazon reviews--so here's a warning--Avoid this model!!! "Good Stuff", This is some good powerful stuff, just sucked everything from my carpet. a definite recommend but beware because lot of people say that Bissell stuff loose power after using it for a year, I dont know if it is true or not but will know after a year. "Does not last", I have had this cleaner for a year and at first it was the best one I ever had but for the last several months I have not been able to keep the hoses from getting clogged. I have cleaned the filters but very little actually makes it into the vaccuum cleaner. Every week I have to remove the hoses and pull everything I just vacuumed out to clear the hose. It will work for about one cleaning and then I get to do it again. I am setting it out for the trash collectors. "Great Vac! Pets and Allergies...", I purchased this vacuum to replace my bag-type vacuum, when I moved I wanted to start off new, but didn't have a lot to spend. This vacuum has been a pleasure to use. I have a dalmatian (notorious shedders) as well as allergies to dust and I really feel this vacuum has been doing a great job keeping the pet dander and dust under control. You *do* need to empty the dirt cup of course and maintain the filters. Two of the filters require just a quick washing and the HEPA filter requires to be replaced as recommended. Keeping the filters clean will allow the vac to do its job. The edge cleaning works well as it picks up nice and close to the edges... and the attachments are great. I give it 4 stars out of 5 because I would like to see the cord wrap redesigned somehow, but it really isn't that big of a deal and most vacs have the cord wrap designed like this. (The cord, by the way, is an ample length.) I'm guessing that there are mor expensive vacs out there that will most likely be more powerful, but for the price this vacuum is excellent!! I recommend it for those looking in the under $100 price range. It does a nice job! "Works good at first, but doesn't last!", Like everyone else has said, this vacuum worked great in the beginning, but after just over one year, it doesn't anymore. I noticed it has gotten louder over the last few months, then the last time I used it, it smelled like it was burning. I assumed it was the belt, but the belt was fine. So, I cleaned all the filters and made sure none of the hoses were clogged. Tried it again and the burning smell returned and it wasn't picking anything up. I'm in a small, two bedroom condo, no pets or kids, this should have lasted longer. I owned a cheap Eureka for about 10 years, I think I'll go back to a more reliable brand. ![]() |
