"HEY SIS....you gotta buy:)" this is the best canister vac, suction is good enough for carpets as well as hard floors.....ok, sis buy it!!!!!! "Oh my goodness, is there still stuff coming up?" I was worried about the lack of a powered brush on this item, but I shouldn't have. I had to empty out the dust cup 5 times just from vacuuming my bedroom carpet. And this carpet had already been vacuumed with my 'more powerful' upright that has a beater brush...eek! This is a wonderfully light, powerful, well-designed little workhorse. I would have liked a crevice tool, but I haven't actually found anything it couldn't do without one. As an owner of two pets that shed year-round, I am resoundingly impressed. "This will suck your socks off!!" I cannot believe how great this little gadget is. I vacuummed my house the day before the Bissell Butler came in with a heavy duty Kenmore Whisper belt vacuum cleaner with a HEPA Filter. Just to try out the Bissell Butler, my son started vacuuming with it, and then I heard him scream OH, WOW!!! MOM LOOK AT THIS!!! My son showed me so much dust that the Bissell Butler collected in just a minute of vacumming, that it was unbelievable, and embarrasing I might add. If you have any doubts about the Bissell Butler, DON'T. Just go to the nearest appliance store or website and buy it!!! "Vacuuming Doesn't Suck Anymore!!" As a new stay-at-home dad, I quickly grew to hate my wife's upright vacuum. It was difficult to manouver, heavy, and was too "thick" to get under edges of cabnets. Also, it was as loud as a jackhammer and woke up the babies. So, I started doing serious comparison shopping for a cheap canister vac for light cleaning. Let me tell you, I hit the jackpot with the Bissell 6700 Butler Revolution Canister Vacuum. Not only was it incredibly low priced, but it's a bundle of well-engineered and thoughful features. The extremely efficent and easy-to-use dirt-trap catches virtually all of the debris before it gets to the bag. So, the vacuum doesn't progressively loose power like most bag-vacuums seem to do. Also, since it's clear, you can see what you've collected. So if you hear a PING while using the telescoping handle (another great feature) to suck up the Cherios from behind the washing machine (it's a toddler-thing), then you can easily see if it was a lost diamond ring, or a penny. It's also very quiet, rolls easily, has a cleanly-retracting cord, a convinent carrying handle, and a "Bag Full" indicator light. I'm mightily impressed! This is, hands down, the best vacuum I've ever used. The only missing feature that would keep it from being the best-ever is that it lacks a beater brush for carpet. However, it's powerful enough that our carpets look better than they did with our old upright-with-a-beater-brush. This rinks with my TiVo and iPod as a completely-necessiary gadget. "I thought I was giving up quality at the $54.99 price." Long story short: I have a nice Windtunnel....works great on carpets, but on tile it's obnoxiously loud and terrible + using the onboard tools even with it's longer extra cost hose still causes tip overs. Our apartment is entirely mexican tile with throw / area rugs. This will be my plan also for my home I will purchase within a year using some berber/low nap for certain areas. Without carpets the house feels more clean and airy. Enter my wife who cannot put up with American appliances being so loud (she is from Japan, everything is quiet)....so we look for Samsung vacuums (the 9069 or 9048) since they seem to compete with the Miele S251 series at a lower cost (about half)...we find out there are no more Samsungs being made. I get ready to buy the Flamenco II at $300 shipped (instead of the normal $379 because they ran out of Samsungs), but then pull up Amazon and find out about the Butler Revolution....I had a $50 Gift Certificate sent to me so figured at $4.99 out of pocket it was worth the risk. [I also checked out the Electrolux Harmony, but at $300+ and an extremely small bag I passed] Got it quick and tried it out. Retractable cord a big plus....really quiet, comparable to the Miele easy....huge wheels = easy to cart behind you....also has a great grab handle for vertical and horizontal carrying. Picks up things great as well and floor tool gets under most things (although the carpet/tile selector makes you loose a valuable 1/2" of clearance perhaps). The 'stick-on' attachment holder is only a problem until you learn where to position it so it doesn't get in your way....I plan to buy the crevise tool and an additional clip. The hose attachment is well designed, better than the 360 degree pivoting design on the Miele and Samsung's other machines....follows you more easily. I don't like the friction fit of the rest of the attachments...should not have been hard to build in a 'snap together' fitting...but I doubt it will prove a problem in less than a year or two and a drill and a small brass thumbscrew would make for a great solution. The extendable wand is great as well. No bending over or stretching to get ceilings.....the handle also has the 'old fashioned' sliding vent to lower the suction if needed (good when you grab a throw rug or a sock your kittie hid under the couch ;) ) The dust cup is awesome. My kitties hair turns into little 'mice' inside and saves the pretty decent sized bag (we got 5 I think total in the box, easily a year's worth). I'd place money on this machine at 3x the cost easy....even willing to wager a bet at 6x the cost as well with the only criteria being tile and throw rugs only and no HEPA/Allergy test (as it's not dusty at all and I am sensitive to dust in my eyes...but it's not a HEPA equipped machine so it would lose on that). I also can use it every day extremely easily so my apartment is staying very clean....it's not a burden to bring this machine out of the closet for a quick go around. If you do not have carpets and/or have an average sized home (1500 sq feet or less) this is probably the machine for you. Bigger places would more than likely find a larger machine more capable. Carpeting of course needs to have a 'beater' brush / power head setup. Without a DOUBT this has been my best deal ever and most satisfying purchase. Å

Bissell 6700 Butler Revolution Canister Vacuum
Why I buy this one ? - Powerful cyclonic cleaning with consistent suction - Telescopic extension wand for hard-to-reach places - Ergonomic carrying handle for easy moving - 20-foot power cord with automatic rewind - Measures 12-1/2 by 14-1/2 by 49-1/2 inches What our customer's say! "Bissell Vacuum", Worked great but started to short out on the cord after awhile. The first one I bought did the same thing. This is my second relacement and last. Other wise it was a great Vacuum. "Best Canister Vac Ever", This is the best, nicest canister vac I have ever used... great suction, does a fabulous job... THE ONLY PROBLEM is that Bissell has stopped making it !!! "Doesn't work", I don't know if I got a bad vaccuum or what, since other people seem to like it, but this will not pick up anything on my hardwoods - I've had it less than 6 months and it only worked right the first couple times I used it. I checked connections, the bag (virtually empty) etc. to no avail. I feel like I got ripped off because I didn't want to jump through a bunch of hoops and spend money to return it when it only cost $60. I just replaced it with a Kenmore canister vaccuum which works great - picks up cat litter around the cat box, etc. "Great Vacuum", I bought this vacuum for our new home which has all hard wood flooring. I have a few area rugs that require a regular vacuum. The butler does a great job on them, so now I don't have to drag out my upright anymore. On the hard floors it does a terrific job getting everything up! I love this vacuum. I loev the portability and ease of use. "Thanks Sis", Love it!I have hardwood floors throughout my whole house w/ area rugs all over. I swept the wood and vacuumed the carpet. I hated it. Our puppy chewed through the power cord for the vacuum, so told my syster, Missytini, that I would watch her two kids but she also had to drop off a vacuum. She kept insisting that this was the one. Because I'm always right and she is laways right, I finally said what ever, bring it. Fell in love. I'm now dropping it off in the mornings after it spends a couple days with me till I get mine in the mail. My floors are perfect. I have very old floors that need badly to be refinished. When I used this vacuum I noticed a major difference. Husband and girlfriends have commented on how much better they look. I can't beleive she was right and I lived with such horrid floors. It does and performs just as everyone says. It will be the best vacuum you will ever buy. Thanks Sis! ![]() Read this reviews before You buy... "Poor Man's Nuke", - It's bigger than it appears in the picture, or I thought. The bag is tiny in comparison, but that should not be a problem because of the dust cup. - The cup is fun to watch, but a little awkward to maneuver in tighter space. It would be perfect if it's mounted on the base. Making me wonder whether the notorious Dyson might have even more fun. Just saw someone there mentioning he/she got a $500 Animal for regular job and another $500 canister for under the furniture! Damn, I'm a poor man! - The cord doesn't retract fully, leaving out a foot dangling outside, can't even push it in. But I can live with that. - The wand should be able to retract further, making it easier to store - The brush caught up quite some stuff during the first run, has to be removed by hand. - Got quite hot after short use, maybe that's normal? - The Tool Clip doesn't fit the wand, nor the dusting brush itself Overall, very good, well worth the money. "Life has just been easier...", As a mother of a 2 year old that is heck on wheels, I look for convenience in items first and hope for quality second. Bissell delivered and then some. I've had my Butler for almost a year and use it EVERY DAY to pick up the daily tread my husband and daughter leave behind. It works just like the first day-with suction so powerful I can feel it gripping the floor. I like that I don't have to run around with several cleaning tools, the telescopic wand just stretches up and cleans all the way to the top of my 10ft ceilings, under any bed and behind big pieces of furniture. It's not hard to lug around either, I have an immune deficiency disease that zaps what little energy my daughter leaves for me and dragging heavy vacuums behind me isn't feasible most times. With the Butler though, I can make a quick run through the house and it takes me less time and energy than if I was sweeping. Here's my favorite part...the dust cup. I had a Europro vacuum that you had to "tap" the dust out of... more like BEAT it out then HOSE it down. That thing didn't even last a year. The Bissell, however has this cyclone action it does in the cup that swirls the caught up hair around and this traps dust and debris, so when it's time to empty you literally turn the cup up and everything falls right out into the trash. It's such a breeze. This vacuum deserves every star it's been given!! (We have 1300sq ft of hardwood, area rugs, a little linoleum and a fully carpeted (low pile) room and I use the Butler for all of it.) "Best vacuum ever!!", I have 2000 square feet of hardwoods and this $54.00 vacuum cleans them more efficiently than any other product I've ever used. I have paid more for "top of the line" vacuums that have had less than satisfactory results. This machine goes easily from hardwoods to throw rugs. It collects fine particles like powder with ease. The cord is around 20 feet long, I would like it to be longer, but that is a minor deficiency when it comes to the power and efficiency of this little vacuum. Because of the small collection cup that can be emptied after each use, bag isn't even 1/4 of the way full after two months of use. I would highly recommend this product. "Great Vacuum!", This thing works great! I have hardwood and ceramic tile floors and getting a handle on the dog hairs was always a problem. I tried three other vacuums before ordering this one from Amazon. Reading reviews helped me make a decision. I like everything about this vacuum: it's lightweight, easy to roll, relatively quiet and best of all it WORKS! If you have pets, it is a must-have for hard floors. The collection cup allows you to empty the pet hairs without filling up, and having to replace a bag frequently. I don't have carpet, so I can't speak to how well it would work on big carpet jobs. It seems to do an ok job on area rugs. "Just the best", This is the best vacuum I have ever owned and the least expensive. Wonderful for hardwood floors, but if you have mostly rugs, get something else. As for the complaints about bags being hard to find, it hardly needs them and includes 6 with the vacuum. Importantly, once you buy the vacuum, go to Bissell.com and register the vacuum under the bissell rewards area and they will send you a free t shirt and you can then order bags online with FREE SHIPPING and a 10% discount, since the vacuum generates enough reward points to put you into the top member status which gives you the discount and free shipping. ![]() |
