"works fine, but is pricey for upkeep" this does work for the kitty litter....awesome for when guests are over and I'm 'nervous' about the smell. I had one before and couldn't remember why I got rid of it. But, I just remembered...the sucker goes through filters like you wouldn't believe, and the filters are 1/2 the cost of just buying a new one. and, being an energy-conscious household, I wish this was created as 'energy-star'. "Useless" I am unable to use this product because none of the electrical sockets in my home has the strength to hold onto the electrical prongs of this relatively bulky appliance. This is definitely not one of those cute little plug-in heated-oil room deodorizers. This appliance weighs in at 1.5 pounds, and has dimensions of approximately 8.5 inches high x 6.5 inches wide x 3 inches deep. Think of it as a hefty box of brown sugar plugged into your wall with nothing holding it in place except the plug. Unless your socket forcefully grabs electrical prongs, you would be well advised to consider an air cleaner that is not plug-mounted. The weight of this unit literally pulls it out of the socket. I, for one, do not appreciate the additional expense and bother of replacing a wall outlet to accommodate an appliance that may or may not do what the manufacturer claims. This product is clearly a misadventure in engineering. "Not for a ferret owner" I purchased this product hoping it would help cut through the smell of a ferret. It did nothing of the kind. While it has been working wonders in removing dust from the air, it does not hold up to its deodorizing claim. I have not tried it around a cat litter box, and maybe it works with milder odors, but the pungent musk of a ferret has already proved to be too much for it. "works well but" i was surprised at how quickly the filter needed to be replaced even on the slower cleaning cycle - and since they arent cheap, i dont feel this was worth it i prefer the air purifiers like Hunter HEPATech model 30055 - cleans larger spaces, hasnt needed a new filter in the year i've owned it, and sometimes sites like amazon and others have it on clearance from $100 down to $35-$40! "this product works well" I'm glad I bought this product instead of wasting my money on an ionic breeze. It works well and is pretty quiet.

What our customer's say! "It does what it claims to do", I use this product to get rid of the smoking odor in our living room. It works! If you hold a cigarette near it, you can see it sucking all the smoke. I also like the feature where the tiny light on top turns red to indicate that its time to change the filter. I have had this for almost 2 years now and its still going strong. Highly recommended! "Does The Job", I have owned the HB 04271R True Air now for about a month and it functions as advertised. I use it in a adesignated area about the size of a medium sized bathroom with a tobacco replacement filter. The designated area is my "smoke room". Before I installed it my roomate would constantly complain about the tobacco odor in the air. Now the complains have stopped. I plan to continue using this until I quit smoking. "My Apartment has No Smell!", I live in a one-bedroom apartment with 2 small dogs and a turtle. Needless to say, sometimes there would be less-than-pleasant odors coming from my apartment. Since I've been using this plug-in, I don't smell anything when I come home. That's great! My only complaint is that you can hear the fan, even on whisper mode. But, really, it's not a big deal. "Works OK for the price", I am on my second unit now. The first one lasted about two years running continuously before it died. I was pretty happy with it for use by the cat box. Cat litter dust does clog the filter pretty quickly, but I just vacuum the dust off occasionally. I am very disappointed with the second one though, it is much louder than the first one. Some of the reviewers compare the loudness to that of a computer fan. The 'whisper mode' on mine is much louder than any computer that I own. For this reason I am hoping that it breaks soon so I can try another brand. Although if Amazon still has them on sale for $12, I may just get another one and hope that it is quiet like the first one I had. It is worth taking the risk at that price. "huge", This item is way too large. Far more than I expected for a plug in. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Less odor, but not quite enough", I purchased this item for the pet odor in my bedroom. Despite using this frequently, my room still smells like guinea pig - less so than before but not significantly. I'm a little disappointed because my room is a pretty small space, and the item's plugged in right next to my guinea pig's cage, so according to the instructions the item should work just fine in this space. Another drawback is the task of replacing the filter - I've done a lot of searching but can't find the right one (if someone knows, please post it). The size of the thing is also a little unwieldly to be suspended on the wall by the plug - I've had to stack books underneath it to balance it. I think this item would be best for lighter odors like the bathroom, or for out-of-the-way areas such as if your cat's litterbox is in the utility room. The noise hasn't bothered me at all, especially since it has a lower setting that sounds like a computer fan. Three stars because it's small, cheap, and somewhat useful, but if you have serious odor issues I'd suggest saving your money for a real air purifier. "Excellent Product & Price...", I bought this product to eliminate kitchen odor when cooking/baking or warming up food. It works wonder in both quiet & quick mode. It also works great in removing other odor such as pet. "It works well. ", I bought this product hoping it would help eliminate the smell from 3 cat litter boxes. Even thought we change our cat litter boxes obsessively every day, we still had a nasty smell. This product works very well. However, it does not clean the air for an entire house, it works for a room or maybe two. And it is not quiet. There are two settings, one louder and more efficient. But even the lower setting is still noticeable when you walk into the room. It does clear the air very well, we run ours when we are not home so the noise does not bother us. "easy to use", It's handy, I can carry it to anywhere I want but the bad thing is noisy "Great for Bathroom!", I bought this for my older apartment that doesn't have a fan in the bathroom. It does an excellent job of keeping the bathroom air fresh and dry (the mirrors barely even fog up). I don't know what I would do without it! I do wish it were a little smaller. Check the dimensions before buying to make sure it can fit in the space around where your outlet is located-mine blocks one side of the medicine cabinet but it's well worth it. |
