Others say...
"Fades wrinkles, does not free them (they're still trapped there)" I was disappointed when receiving this steamer. First of all let me say, I dislike ironing simply b/c it takes forever. I'm not even looking for that crisp creased look. However, when I'm done ironing hours later, I know my items will be wrinkle free. I hoped that would've been the case with this steamer, no wrinkles shorter amount of time. Sadly that it was not. It took forever to steam each of my garments, then when I was done, the wrinkles were not gone, just faded. I tried this on different types of fabrics (silk, satin, cotton, polyester blends, etc) and it was all the same (faded, still there wrinkles) except for one pair of wool pants where the wrinkles magically faded. After trying this out for a week using different fabrics and techniques, the only thing that improved was using this steamer with another person. Just holding the clothes steady to steam against the wall doesn't work well. Having another person hold the clothes taut for you while you steam works the best, except when you accidently steam the other person and they don't want to help much anymore. Pros: holds plenty of water for lots of steam, has wheels to carry around, feels sturdy, good for heavy fabrics and great for wool Cons: wheels don't lock (moves too much), hose gets hot, spurts a bit even when held correctly, didn't leave items wrinkle free for me unless someone held clothes taut while I steamed. Sadly I borrowed a cheap conair steamer from a friend and it worked slightly better than this item, it got the wrinkles off of my delicate shirts which was all I wanted. "Great product" This steamer is great for me b/c I hate to press my clothes. I did some research and brought this steamer. It starts to work very fast and it works well for me. It will not give you dry cleaning result so if that's what you are looking for then you have to iron or bring it to the dry cleaner. "Does not disappoint!" After reading other consumer reviews, I bought this steamer. I works unbelievably well, and saved me alot of money already. It is sturdy, heats up quickly, can be moved around without much effort, and gives some garments another wearing before having to be dry cleaned. I would highly recommend it to anyone. "Keep your iron handy..." The Jiffy J-2000 works great on cotton t-shirts, shorts, and lightweight clothing, but I have had difficulty with thicker materials such as cheenos, jeans and thicker cottons. It may lessen the wrinkles, but has not completely eliminated them. I was disappointed with this product as I was hoping, though not to replace my iron, to at least not use it as much. I pulled my Rowenta iron back out this week and I am finding that it is actually much easier and faster to just iron the clothes than steam them. "Excellent Product. Worth every dollar!" This is a great product and is very versatile. It works incredibly well for almost everything that needs to be ironed...except no more ironing! It is easy to use and serves its purpose. Totally Worth it!

What our customer's say! "spray water bottle is easier", This machine puts out a lot of steam. I gave it four stars because the hanger pole is a little too short. (and I'm not a tall person) Other than that, it is very good. However, I have gone back to my iron for pants and cotton shirts. The iron does a better job faster. I also use a fine-mist water bottle for all of my not so permanent press items. I just place them on a hanger, mist, and let them dry. It is fast, easy, cheap and much cooler. I'll probably keep my steamer to use when removing wallpaper. "Works Great!", When I received it I tested it out on various articles of clothing and found it easy to use and cuts down on ironing time once you get the hang of it. I also found that using one of those silicon hot pads in steaming some items worked great and it also protects the hand from hot steam. After getting the touch of using the steamer, I used it to steam my dress for my daughter's wedding and it worked fabulous. It sure saved the time and money of bringing it to a cleaners to be steamed. In fact, I brought it to the hotel and did a few touch ups before the wedding. "LOVE THIS PRODUCT", I hate to iron. I walked around like wrinkle clothes was a fashion statement. Not anymore.... The Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series Garment Steamer is so easy to use and takes seconds to take out wrinkles and I mean wrinkles. It was a great purchase and I have told many people about it. I highly recommend this product. Say goodbye to ironing. "Great for dry clean clothes or fragile fabrics", I love my steamer! Great for fragile fabrics and for cotton tops or quickly finishing my suites before I leave the house. Steam within minutes, no ironing board to set up. I need the steamer board now! "If you hate ironing, this one is for you....", I originally was going to purchase another steamer but upon reading the reviews, am I ever glad I didn't. It was more expensive and not good quality. Then I checked out this one that had SO MANY positive responses and WOW - they weren't kidding. I love this machine. I can whip through my ironing in no time. It takes no time to catch on (hang up your shirts - put the wand on the inside of the shirt, hold the bottom of the shirt as you wand down the shirt and WRINKLES DISAPPEAR LIKE MAGIC). It's that easy. I've even got my husband doing his shirts. Seems like I've usually got a hundred things going on at any given time so this was a huge TIMESAVER for me. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Almost returned it.... glad I didn't!", After a month and a half of use, I must say that I'm quite happy with the Jiffy Steamer. It doesn't completely replace my iron for certain items (i.e., collared shirts that require the collar to be pressed), but it does a very good job on almost everything else. I, like a few other reviewers, am still burning my thumbs every now and then as I try to push the garment up against the board, but I figure that'll happen less over time. I almost returned this because I was having a very difficult time getting satisfactory results (for the price paid). Basically, hanging garments on the steamer's hanging pole didn't work well for me. I then tried pressing items up against a door with slightly better results. Then, I happened upon a review for the Jiffy Steamer 0892A Steamboard. We took the plunge and purchased one (shop around)... and this made all the difference. It's like a hanging ironing board and was well worth the price paid (like I said, shop around!) All in all, I'm happy with the steamer and would recommend it. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could (but not 5)... which is why I gave it a 4. "Outstanding!! (Even if it IS an iron:-) )", Ok, I HATE to iron and will avoid it at all costs, but this Jiffy Steamer J-2000 does have me looking more put together AND, I don't dread the whole ironing action quite so much! It's quick-heats up in seconds, (literally) doesn't 'spit' out water like most steam irons do, and in the time it takes to iron a blouse or even a cotton sweater, my hubby's still touching up his shirt (I say, 'touching up,' because I send his shirts out to the cleaners, but being a former Marine, he's really picky and is always 'fixing' his clothes!) and I could do three more shirts/sweaters-but lets face it...I ain't gonna! Well worth the moola and takes up less space than an ironing board.... "Not Useful", I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and ended up returning it. Amazon made it so easy to return it, so 5 stars for Amazon! Basically the Jiffy Steamer did not work on jeans or any heavier weight cotton clothes. I steamed a silk scarf before going out one night and it worked well for that, but it didn't cut it for anything else. "Great", First steamer ever bought. Heats up in about 30 seconds and does a very good job on short and long sleeve polo type shirts in just a few seconds. Very well built, sturdy. Got it for my wife who loves it. "Not magic, but pretty wonderful!", I bought the steamer after getting tired of looking at all the clothes I was not wearing simply becuse they needed to be ironed. I try to buy things that do not need ironing but am a Banker and my wardrobe is pretty limited if I just stick with those!! I have some weird block against ironing - I just never have the time or inclination to do it, so stuff just went unworn. How ridiculous can you get? This was a last ditch effort before I became the polyester wonder, and I was determined to send it back if it did not work. Well, it is not going anywere. No, wrinkles do not melt off items as soon as you turn it on and wave it in the general direction of the garment. But a simple pull or tug and you CAN make a decent crease - and wrinkles do come out. The added benefit of the steam clean is unbelievable. I would keep it just for how it freshens clothes and believe it will pay for itself eventually by reduced trips to the dry cleaners. I do not usually review but depend heavily on those of you that do. I also believe that unhappy users are more likely to post, so thought (as I was browsing reviews on another item) that I should share my experience with this product. If you are thinking about it or have clothes you avoid wearing because you hate to iron GO fo it!! ![]() |
