"Just easy" I was told that manual breast pumps were difficult to use and your hands will get tired, but this is not the case with this pump. Your hands don't even notice the little exercise they do. I have used other brands and they were difficult to use,my nipples were hurt. Not with this one!!! It is easy to use, easy to ensemble, and easy to clean. "Love This Pump" Can't live without my Isis. I got this pump first because I wasn't planning on pumping much. But ince I am pump 4-5 times a day I decided to get a electric pump (Lansinoh-which is a really good pump), anyhow I still use my Isis when I just need to get milk out really quick or if I am going out its really small and i just stick it in my purse. Its very effective in getting milk out. I really like this pump. "Great pump!" Quick, easy, not messy, uncomplicated. Studies were published by the AAP to show that this manual pump works just as good, if not better, than hospital-grade electric pumps. You can't beat that for quality and efficiency! I would recommend this pump to anyone who plans to pump, regardless of frequency. It is wonderful. "Don't waste your money on an electric" A couple people let me borrow their expensive electric pumps, and I never had any luck with them. But with this Avent hand-held, I could fill a 9-oz bottle in less than 10 minutes. It has great suction, and I found it so much more convenient. I am expecting a second "surprise" child and I will buy this pump again since I gave the other to someone else. I had no issues with any of the plastic parts breaking. "AMAZING for a manual pump" I bought this at a cousin's rec as well as the wonderful reviews. I have to say I LOVE IT! I was a Medela user for (solely) pumping for my son for six months. When my daughter was born I wanted something different for travel than by big Medela In-Style. So...I tried it. I am a mass producer so was a little concerned about how much could this help? It's truly amazing! It works BETTER than the medela. Tips for use.... 1. When using, be sure the plastic disc is secure in the neck and the pliable plastic/rubber disk is securely on the pump head. 2. I have found it easier if I lean into the pump when I start to pump and create a good suction. 3. When it doesn't start right suctioning right away, I re-latch the pump, lean into it and check the little white disk and the rubber disk on the large head. Great product and I used it 5-7 times a day for almost a week and am now down to 2-3 times a day for two to three weeks.

What our customer's say! "Surprisingly good pump", This pump turned out to be all that I needed. At first, I wasn't sure whether to buy both a manual and electric pump because I didn't know how much I would be pumping. Now that I've used this, I think I can manage with just this manual pump, even if I have to use this every day. PROS: very easy to set up and use; portable and versatile CONS: like any other gadget, you have to learn to use it and adjust to get the maximum performance Bottom line, you definitely get your money's worth with this product. "great pump better than Pump in style and cheap", I bought this because I read good reviews and I liked how the Avent bottles mimic the breast. I got the kit that had the insulated bag and it came with a few 4 oz and 9oz bottles. I love this for the following: -It's small and easy to carry. With the black insulated bag noone but friends know I have a breast pump in it. The bag easily holds the pump and 2 full bottles, maybe even 3. -Easy to clean, there are hardly any parts! -I can control the suction! -I get a ton of milk. I was getting about 4 oz in 15 minutes on this doing one breast I thought I could get more so bought a pump in style and I was getting 1 oz per breast in 20 minutes. They say electric is best , not always true. However Medela has the custom shields, I had to also buy a size bigger. With the Avent I just take out the flowered soft cup and use it as is and I am fine. I was using the large Medela ones. "Works for me!", I had to take a last minute trip and was in need of a manual pump, not wanting to hassle with my Pump in Style on the road. I remember my doula had recommended the Isis so I decided to check it out. After reading the reviews here about the problems some people have with this pump I was a little hesitant but went ahead and purchased it anyway at Babies R us (for about $12.00 more than Amazon has it listed for). I have had "star" valve pop off during pumping once and yes it was a bit irritating but it only happened that one time and I have been using it for about 6wks now at least once a day with a few days of all-day use. I get SO much more milk from this than my electric Pump in Stlye, its not even funny, especially considering how much less this one cost! The PIS was purchased nearly 5yrs ago before our first child was born though so maybe its a technology thing? I am recommending the Isis to all my friends who are also pregnant, this is my third baby and I wish I had the Isis for the first two!! "it is terrible", I tried couple times to pump the milk, I could not pump any milk out. I would not recommend anybody else would buy it. "What a pain!", I had to get an electric pump after attempting to use a manual one. I got the Isis Avent because I trust the brand so much. It was awkward to use and just too much work for so little breastmilk. Electric pumps are expensive but you can get them used on e-bay, garage sales, consignment, or Craigslist for cheap. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "great pump!", This little pump is super efficient and easy to use. I like it a lot better than the big fancy medala electric pump we have. I highly recommend this product! "Just okay...", As a breastfeeding Mom (for the third time!) I needed a pump to use occassionally for outings and to build up my supply for later use. I bought the Avent Hand Pump because of all the good reviews and because I rarely, if ever will be bottle feeding my baby. First and foremost, the silicone petal pad doesn't work for me. I have to take it off. The "horn" part of the pump is NOT size universal. So if you're not sure if it'll fit, chances are it won't. Not all nipples are created equal!!! I did find out that putting some lanolin on the pump itself before pumping makes it easier. Secondly, it's nearly impossible to nurse and to pump at the same time. Third, it's noisy... this means that for you girls out there that are sensitive about let down (meaning you have to forget you are pumping to pump efficiently) it won't work as well as you want it to. I have no doubt I have a good milk supply. It takes me an hour to pump 4 ounces. A bit dissapointing. Not to mention when you're a new Mommy, time is precious!! The top cover comes off occassionally and the avent bottles leak- In the end, my baby wouldn't take the avent bottles. Wouldn't even latch on. SO don't use this pump for the sole reason that you believe Avent is the way to go- ultimately the baby is boss. This is my second breastfed baby that wouldn't take these bottles- although my daughter did latch on for five seconds long enough to gag on the milk because she couldn't control the flow. I'm not impressed. No, I wouldn't purchase again. No, I don't reccommend. No!!! I feel cheated and wish I would of researched pumps a bit longer before spending what I did on this one. Let's face it, it's overpriced. "Works fine", I bought this pump after reading quite a few other reviews. I've been using it for several days. The handle does squeak a bit, but other than that it works really well for being such a low priced pump. "A definite buy", I highly recommend this breast pump. It works faster than the Medela electric pump that I have. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the pump loses suction but the spare parts quickly fix that problem. "read the negative reviews first", I can't believe all the great reviews. Maybe its just me, but I think this pump is so overrated. The pluses: it is small, it does work OK sometimes. The negatives: it takes a long time to pump even a small amount, it has a lot of parts.And the worst one is that the plastic star valve keeps coming off, which requires taking it apart in the middle of pumping,while its leaking everywhere. I rented the Medela for 2 months before using it and believe me this thing does not compare, not even close. I use it only occasionally and it drives me crazy even than. There has to be a better hand pump out there. This is my personal opinion, so your resluts could be totally different |
