"Why is this product even on the market?"
My DA-65 never worked. The steam never worked from day 1 and the brush/lint attachment keeps falling off. This product is made in Mexico...

There are other combination travel iron/steamers on the market. Make my purchasing mistake your guide. I can see from other reviews that I'm not the only one with problem. 3 thumbs down on this one.

Okay, so I own this steamer. I confess it no longer works, but I believe that is my own fault for leaving water in the reservoir and storing that way, rather than emptying the reservoir after each use.

When I first got the steamer and filled it with water, it didn't work either, just like other reviewers have said. But referring to the instructions, it says to press the steam button TEN (yes, that's 10!) TIMES before the first use. When I did as instructed, and found my patience, the Rowenta began to steam. It was great, and I used it often, religiously emptying the tiny water tank (reservoir) after each use. Then I got lazy. I stopped emptying the water tank after each use, while hot, and I believe that minerals have formed inside the steamer which has blocked the holes.

So my steamer no longer works, and I plan to try to fix thte steamer by using one of those products that removes mineral deposits, and if that doesn't work, it's still a good travel-sized iron.

In the meantime, I'm buying another, and plan to empty the water tank on the steamer while hot so heat will dry out the insides, and store it dry.

Good luck with yours... This is a great product but you have to read the manual and take care of it!

"Never worked well, then fell to pieces"
I was very disappointed with this product. Despite following the directions precisely, the iron never steamed at all. It did work for dry ironing. Then a few months later I was packing it for another trip, and found that as I attempted to slip the soleplate cover on just to see if perhaps NOW the steam part would work, it broke into 3 pieces. I would certainly not purchase this product again.

"Yep--another "mine is broken" story"
I had the exact same experience as "A customer from Sunnyvale" with our "Steam 'n Press.

My wife bought this to steam her wedding dress on her wedding day. It (apparently) worked that one time. However, it didn't get used until a few months later, and I couldn't get anything to happen with the steam. My wife and I fiddled with it for a good long time, and ultimately decided that something is broken with the mechanism that discharges the steam. The "iron" portion of this still gets hot--but as "Sunnyvale" said, without the steam this thing is useless.

One use and done--that's unacceptable. I contacted Rowenta (a long distance call, BTW) and since the item is less than a year old if I send it to them (at my expense, probably $10 or so) they say they'll fix it and send it back to me. I'll probably do this, but from other complaints of this unit breaking it seems like the quality control isn't there. Save yourself trouble and go with something else.

"It actually does what it says"
After reading other reviews I had my doubts about the performance of this product but was plesantly surprised at the results. You must understand that this steam iron will not give you the same results you would get from your dry cleaner (their industrial sized equipment is the only thing that can do that). But what it does provide is quality bursts of steam that will make for excellent touch-ups on garments wrinkled during travel. <br /><br /> Know what you are buying and buy with confidence.
