"Does Exactly What It's Supposed To!" I have had this vacuum for two years and am going to buy another one for the family room/downstairs, so I can have one on each floor. A few years ago I had rotator cuff surgery and found it impossible to push the large "beast" of a vacuum cleaner we used, and it was also too hard to carry it up and down stairs. I purchased a Bissel Stick vac for the upstairs, and found out it wasn't anywhere as good as this Eureka Boss. I found the Eureka Boss at WalMart and purchased it. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. If people are unhappy with this stick vac, it's because they are expecting it to clean heavy carpets with naps; a job which should be done by larger vacuum cleaners. If you understand that this stick vac is mainly for tiled or hardwood floors, or carpets with very low naps, you won't be disappointed. No, it won't get stuff right up against the wall. For that, I use the Bissel Stick vac (which isn't worth a hoot for actual vacuuming of any type, but I keep the crevice tool on it and use it along baseboards, where it does a decent job). However, the Eureka is fabulous on barewood, and it gets up all the hair from my two labs and miniature pinscher. Downstairs, in the family room, we have a carpet similar to those you see in businesses or offices. It has no nap, and the Eureka does a fantastic job getting all the dog hair and hay and straw we drag in from the barn. I rarely use the big beast any more, as the Eureka is so lightweight that it makes vacuuming a dream! The only drawback, as others have mentioned, is the short cord. I have a large house with huge rooms, and sometimes have to move it to three different outlets, but I can live with that. The dust cup doesn't hold too much, but that's part of the reason this vacuum is so light weight. As long as you empty the dustcup this vacuum will do the job! If you have bare floors and pets, this is absolutely the stick vac for you! And it will get those dust bunnies and eat them up! "Good for quick cleanups..." I bought this last year when we were putting our house up for sale and I needed to make the house look "perfect" every time we went out. It was great for doing a quick clean up on the carpets, vinyl and stairs. In our new house I still use it on the stairs and for quick clean ups when I don't feel like lugging out the big vacuum. It won't replace your regular vacuum, but for making the place look good when you don't have the time for a full cleaning, it does the job quite nicely! "Eureka SticVac" My aunt had one of the earlier models that broke a belt. I replaced the belt, and then the handle came out and she couldn't get it back in...she is crippled and can't do some things like this. I told her that I would get her a new one because she loved the other one and it just had gotten old. Money being a factor, I got on Amazon and did a lot of searching, and finally found the Eureka 169 Stic Vac. Most places, this vac sells for around $59.00. I got the Amazon credit card,on which I got a $30.00 credit for my first purchase for just using the card, and my total cost for the vac was just over $11.00 shipping and all! She is just overjoyed..since it it light enough for her to handle, and it does an amazing job with pet hair and small rugs (big ones too). It is so easy for her to handle...so I bought myself one also..and I found mine without a discount for around $30.00 including shipping on Amazon. Recommend it wholeheartedly for anyone who needs a small, light vac for quick spills and such. "GREAT! A must have for everyone." This is the best little vacuum that I could ever tell you about. It's light weight and very poerful. I have (3) of them one for up stairs and one for down stairs and one for a back up if anything happens to the other one. Yep thats how great these things are. Try one you will love it! "not even as effective as a dustbuster. :(" Not even as effective as a dustbuster. Very dissappointing. Returned for full refund.

What our customer's say! "Good little vacuum", This is a great light weight vacuum that works really well on wood floors as well as carpet. The only problem with it is the handle. It is very flimsy. I had another one several years ago and the handle finally broke. I did buy another one since it works well otherwise, but I wish Eureka would work on the handle part and make it more durable. "Best product I've bought here", I have all hardwood floors except for my two bedrooms. I am retired and live alone, so not a whole lot of dirt. But, this is the handiest little floor care product I have ever had. Light weight, easy to manipulate, great on my one area rug. Always hated draging out the big vaccum to do the area rug. The absolutely only thing I would change, would be to have a longer cord, but not a real big problem. Had a "Swiffer" before, this picks up much more. And I have a cat. The cat hair is no longer a problem. The brush for the area rug is wonderful. Cannot say enough good about it. Even works awesome on pet hair!! I have never had a problem with it and am only buying a new one because we got a puppy and I left the filter on the floor after cleaning it off - and the dog ate it!! So I am just going to let this guy retire and get a new one!! Worth every penny and then some "Excellent Vacuum ", This is an excellent vacuum - especially for the price. I have a studio apartment that has a combination of wood flooring, tile as well as carpet and this little wonder handles it all. Easy to operate, empty and store. The suction this thing has is amazing! I have to hold my foot on the area rugs to keep them in place while I vacuum them. A little over six months now and no regrets over this purchase at all. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "eureka 169b vacum", I love my Quick up Vacuum. It is so light weight and easy to maneuver. I would defiantly recommend this product to my friends and family. "this thing rocks!", I wasn't sure about this vacuum being that I am a cleaning junkie. I have tried many vacuums and been dissapointed in the past. From swiffer vacuums to stick ones, to hand held... you name it, I have tried it. Being a mother of four with four pets, I am always looking for something to make my house work a little easier. Aren't we all??? This is it folks. This thing works like no other. It quickly picks up dirt and debris both off carpet and hardwood/tile floors. I was shocked how this thing performed on carpet. Don't get me wrong, by no means will this replace your vacuum. But durring the week when I need to quickly get the little pieces of lint and hair off the carpets before going to work, this thing delivers. Picks up kitty litter, cherios, cat/dog hair, dirt etc. Works great also on stairs with out lugging the big vac up and down. I love that it is cordless and you are not constantly plugging and unplugging to outlets. For cordless this thing has great suction. I was shocked and very happy to say the least. If anybody says this vac does not work, they must have a faulty one. I purchaed this at Target, it rang up for $7.84, again I was shocked. Must have been on clearence or misspriced. I am going back to Target today to see if I can scarf up on another one of these babies. I would buy another one though at regular price too, worth every penny. Another thing that is an added bonus, you can keep it on the charger constantly so it is always ready when you need it. I had a shark one that specifically specified not to keep it on the charger to only charged when the battery was just about dead. Well what good is that?? When you need it and you have to wait again for it to charge??? Stupid. Not this one, it clearly states to leave it on the charger so it is always ready. Sorry for the long review, I just can not say enough good things about this machine. Buy one today if you have pets and kids!! "Won't keep up with my toddler's messes", I needed this stick vac to quickly clean up the constant trail of cheerios, dried up rice and noodles under the dining room table, and the sand and yard debris that is gets tracked across my linoleum floor. It just can't handle it. The base doen't sit up high enough off the floor to get over cheerios, it just pushes them around. Rice usually flies goes in and flies right out again. After I'm finished vacuuming sand I can still feel it on my feet as I walk over the area. I'm giving it 2 stars because it does great at picking up cat hair, and for vacuuming the small area rugs I have in front of my doors. It's also just a flick of the button to switch between hard floor and carpet cleaning. The filter is easy to remove and it rinses clean in warm water, although it can be a bit tricky to get it back in to the vacuum. "Good for apartments!", I bought this to keep my apartment tidy. I have tile floors and some carpeting - but nothing thick. This works great. It's a little noisy but quieter than others I have used. It doesn't take up much room to store, and emptying it is pretty easy. The only downside is sometimes it is hard to get the detachable pocket for dirt to snap back in. But nothing too damning. "Unfreakin Believable!", I originally had the Swivel Sweeper. Worked for 6 months and I cleaned the brushes regularly. It puttered out this week. I went to WalMart and purchased this for just over $25. WOW! I have 2 cats and a big littermaid litterbox. It not only got ALL the hair off my short piled wall to wall carpet but it rivals my other vaccum that I use for regular vaccuming. This is half the price of Swivel Sweeper and picked up 4 times as much stuff. The power this little, lightweight machine packs is unfreakin believable! Use it on vinyl flooring or your carpet. It didn't leave a thing on any of my carpets. I'm amazed! |
