"Knife Block" An excellent product! Knives should be dry before using block for storage otherwise, a water stain will develop at each slot over time. "Great Buy" This block is every bit as good as units costing 4 times as much. It does have an unfortunate label identifying it as a give-away, which is embarrassing when given as a gift, but the quality and value are there. "Excellent Kitchen Accessoy" This knife block is a useful addition to our kitchen. Made out of solid wood, it matches our cutting boards nicely. The foot-print of the block is not very large, and it easily holds the knives of most kitchens - including a slot for kitchen shears, and a honing rod. "Just what you would expect" This may be one of the few products made in China that is good and wont kill you. I added 2 brass hooks on the side to hold the Henkles cleaver. "Exact Replacement" Hopefully, not too many others are in the situation I was in that required this purchase. In the separation of property, my ex-wife kept the knife block and most of the knives. She gave me some of the most useful knives and until I purchased this block, they were kept in the drawer. This block is exactly like the one we bought together when we were a couple and makes my kitchen feel a little more whole again. It is quality wood, well constructed and bares the Henckels logo which I consider cool because all the knives I have are also Henckels. The knives fit, everything matches and there is a spot for the kitchen shears. For what I wanted, it's perfect.

What our customer's say! "Good for narrow knifes", First of all, Amazon claimed the list price is $40 which is not true. I found it at Bed Bath and Beyond and it's regular price is $19.99. It's hard to tell if your knifes will go in all the slots because several slots are pretty narrow. I couldn't fit all my knifes in because of the narrow slots. If you are not sure if it would work for you, then you should not buy it online and waste the shipping costs both ways. I am disappointed at Amazon's false price claim. "J.A. Henckels' knife storage block is ok for those of us who look for a workable reasonably priced way of storing knives. The wood is not as highly polished as it appears on the photos and the little Henckels logo block on the front is of a slightly different grain of wood. However, everything matches well enough to put on my new kitchen counter and I enjoy the convenience of countertop storage. The price at $19.99 is reasonable in my opinion for this very functional item. "For twenty bucks you have made a wise purchase!", This thing is great, a few bucks and my $140 Shun, $70 Kyocera etc. are bung free and safe... no brainer, nice quality... "Huge unremovable "Free Gift with Purchase" Label", I just bought this with some knives to give as a present. I was quite upset to see a huge "Free Gift with Purchase" label plastered all over the front of it. There is no way to remove the label. And there was no mention of this promotion in the item description. I have contacted Amazon customer service and haven't received any response. Just be aware if you're buying this as a gift. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Decent", Decent block. Didn't realize at the time that I probably could of purchased a whole set of knives (on sale) in a block like this. Shop around. "good block for the money", Slots are a little small for the large knives, but a good basic block. "Nicely Made", Quality work, nicely finished and it fits most or our knives. I like the scissor/fork holder in the base. "Henckels Knife Block", Handsome and compact; will fit the decor of most kitchens. Nice to have the knives out of the drawer.... "Handy", I have wanted a knife block forever but never got one! Now, its so handy and very nice looking sitting on my counter top, the knife's are always at my finger tips no opening of drawers. |
