"Leak, leak, gushing river", Does anyone make a product that will last?! I've had this iron for a few years and have put up with leaks until the reservoir finally leaking out around the electric cord! If you have this model, throw it away before you shock yourself or burn your house down. You do not get what you pay for with this iron.

"Drip, leak, drip!", I really think people should wait a while before they write a review on a product or appliance. I loved this iron at first, but after about a year, it started leaking. Not just a little...a lot! Now I feel I spent all that extra money for nothing. Even when it sits for a little while with water in it, it leaks all over my counter and onto the floor. Also, the burst of steam doesn't work--it only worked for a little while. All directions were followed. I am very unhappy with this iron.

"Great Iron", This iron saved me a mint in dry cleaning bills. I am in the military and need to have a fresh pressed uniform every day. I rated this a 3 because after about a year and a half of use the internal seal gave way and the iron no longer holds water. I dont have time to deal with returns and dealing with company customer service so I am headed out to buy a new one. Probably not the same model. Over all the temps were acurate if a bit hot. And all the features performed as expected.

"Waste of good materials", I was happy with my ActiPress iron for a little over a year. Then it started dripping and in a month ended up leaking like an open faucet. I've read in somebody's review that the cost of repair plus shipping is close to a price of a new iron. So I opened it up. The water tank is just a shaped lid sealed on the rim with some kind of black sealant. I think this construction it's bound to start leaking as the sealant shrinks. Once it starts leaking the water is all over the electrical contacts, may be dangerous too.
I will never buy another one of those, which is a shame - I loved the polished surface and the amount steam it produced.

"Terrific Value and Quality", I got this iron a week ago and wish I had more ironing to do! I had been using an iron that I have had for about 10 years and boy should I have bought this one a long time ago! I used to dread ironing. This iron has me searching for more wrinkled clothes to iron!

It is lightweight, easy to use. Very smooth ironing and perfect steam control. The burst of steam function works wonders for ironing in creases -- and eliminates the need for spray starch or sizing spray.

It has a self clean function that, although I have not had it long enough to need yet, will be a great feature to have!

I definitely recommend this to anyone who hates to iron and needs a new iron!

"Great purchase for the money!", I purchased this iron for a big sewing project I was working on, I needed a nice reliable iron that had a shot of steam feature. I selected this one after reading numerous online reviews of irons. This one wins hands down. I too, took advantage of the $10 in store price cut until December. Rowenta has the reputation for making great irons, and this is my first one, but I would say it holds true. Plenty of steam, quick heatup, even after the auto shut off turns it off, just give it a wiggle, and it heats right back up. The shot of steam works excellent to press in those creases in the seams right where you need it. Glides across the fabric wonderfully. I would definately recommend this iron if you are in the market for a new one!

"Hot BUY!", After years (really!) of using my mom's cast off irons, I finally decided it was time for my own. I bought a Rowenta and I could not be more pleased. It has a little weight to it, which really does help the whole ironing process, a smooth face plate to glide along the fabrics and easy to use settings. Just be careful filling it as if water is poured too quickly, it will bubble out. My mom (and Dad, he is the real one who irons) has been devoted to Rowenta for many years, whenever she wanted a new iron, I simply took the other one and had many more years of service from it. This time mine is brand new out of the box and I think it is money well spent. Incidentally, when I bought mine it was on a price cut till 12/21/03 for ten dollars less in the store. Of course that ten dollar savings went right back to Target as I bought a new ironing board pad and cover too! (Michael Graves.....NICE)

"Worth the money", My previous iron was shot so I went to Consumer Reports and reviewed irons. Rowenta, as well as several others, received high marks. I bought a Sunbeam because it was cheaper. Brought it home and it was awful - the aluminum soleplate dragged across the fabric. I took it back and bought the Actipress for more money. It was worth it. It ironed khakis the first time, leaving a beautiful crease. Plenty of steam, not too heavy and it fits my hand, which is large. If you like to iron or just need to, why not get the job done easily the first time.

"I'm totally im"press"ed!", This iron is terrific! I hated ironing because I had a lightweight iron...the best feature was that it dripped, as there was no spray nozzle. My new Rowenta iron is heavy enough to get the job done quickly and easily, but light enough for an elderly person to use. The iron produces loads of steam...both horizontally and vertically. It also holds a good amount of water...I'm out of things to iron...but not yet out of water. And I love that it has a stainless (and easy to clean) soleplate. The only feature that I wish it had is a removable water tank...but overall, I LOVE this iron!! : )
