"Euro-Pro Shark customer service stinks"
I bought this iron at Target and after a few months I am having problems with the iron. It leaks water and the water stains my clothes. I went to their website the only place to get some information to see how I can correct this problem or to contact this manufacturer and the site does not reconize the model number EP480. They don't a phone number where to call and now I don't where to get service since it's been a few months the store can't do nothing. I wasted $54.

"Euro-Pro Shark Professional Iron"
I liked the weight of this iron (too many are too light and do not get wrinkles out or iron a sharp crease) and I liked the padded handle. Especially I like the very long cord.
However, the heat dial is under the handle and extremely difficult to see, and because the window for water level is blue, it too is difficult to see.

"Packs a punch at a great price"
For $49.99, there is little competition that offers the same feature set. It's got the smooth stainless steel plate, excellent build, and powerful steaming and heating capabilities. And you don't need distilled water. There isn't much that a $150 iron can do better than this one.

"Inferior Product"
I have found this iron to be a hazard and I have found this company to be impossible to deal with. A customer service representative hung up on me when I politely asked to speak to a supervisor in August (I bought the iron in February). This iron is actually dangerous when it spits water everywhere. Furthermore, it has ruined some expensive linen clothing of mine. I actually have tried two of these, returning one to the store where I bought it. The second iron had all the problems as the first one. The Euro Pro company requires the customer to spend his own money to return the product for repair and then to pay another $9.50 to have it returned from them. This is another $15.00 or $20.00 on top of the $50.00+ that one pays for the iron. I sent a certified letter to them over a month ago (at the cost of $4.42) which explained my problems and my desire for a refund -- not a repaired iron or another iron. They received that letter one month ago and have ignored me completely. In addition to spitting water everywhere, this iron leaks water constantly and shuts down in the middle of my ironing -- not just when it is left unattended. I would not use one of these irons if it were given to me.

"Note to Busy Sacto Mom"
Just thought you (and other's who are considering this or any iron) should know something about modern irons. Irons that are self cleaning or have anticalc features, should never have distilled water, softened water or any other water that does not come from your tap used in them. They are designed to function with tap water! Your problem with the "rust stains" is being caused by the distilled water, which can also cause leaks or spitting. Look in the manual as it should tell you what water is or isn't acceptable and how to clean your iron. If you clean your iron according to the manufacturers recommendation and then fill it with water from your tap (no refridgerator water either) then it should take care of the problem. You did not get a lemon. You are using a modern appliance in an outdated way!

What our customer's say!

"Don't buy this iron!", I have just gotten off the phone (no toll free number for this company which is in New York and I'm in California) with their "customer service."

Their solution is for me to ship them the iron at my expense, pay a $24 minimum service charge (no parts included in this) and include $7 for shipping it back! I'll buy a new iron, not a Shark, first!

My iron has never worked properly and I should have sent it back a long time ago. The automatic turn off turns off every 7 - 8 minutes whether it is standing still or moving. The only way to keep it running is to unplug it and then plug it back in - real convenient.

I find it amazing that their website doesn't recognize this model number. Could it be that they don't want to claim it either?

"ok but leaked at times and stopped working after 2yrs", the iron does a good job when it works properly. Leaks a bit at times.
It suddenly stopped working after two years

"Euro Pro Shark Performs Well", I have owned my Euro Pro Shark iron for nearly four years, have strictly followed directions in the manual, and have no problems with it. In fact, I have to stand in line now to use it! I bought the iron for myself, hoping the family would use the new, inexpensive iron they delighted in using shortly before I got my iron. Although they dislike the inconvenient placement of the temperature dial, they do think they get a more professional look to their freshly ironed garments than they do with the lighter, inexpensive iron. I agree.

"Euro-Pro X Iron", Total waste of money. Iron leaked water from the first time I tried to use it. Left stains on my clean clothes and had to re-wash what I had tried to iron. Followed directions the company gave to the letter and it still dumps!!!water no matter how long I let it warm up or how much water is in the tank or what water I use. Company stated if having a problem with leaking, use several tanks of tap water...I did and it still dumps staining water. The company will be happy to repair of course if, I pay the postage both ways, any needed parts, and, of course, the labor charge. Total all this and it will be more than what I initially invested in the iron. Obviously, I am not the only dissatisfied customer by the reviews on this site alone. What happened to standing behind your product, making and keeping a satisfied customer.

"Euro Pro Model EP480", Unfortunately I didn't have good results. I had a Black & Decker electric iron for more than 8 years. I saw the Euro Pro Model EP480 and I decided to buy it because my "old" iron was very old. My Euro Pro only lasted 1 1/2 years. For about two months I was having trouble with the automatic on/off switch, I had to move the iron many times in order to turn "on". Yesterday, while ironing, it started smelling like burn, it shot off and never turned "on" again. In order to finish ironing, I had to go back to the "old" Black & Decker. I feel that I wasted $60.49 (cost of the Euro-Pro Model EP480).

Read this reviews before You buy...

"I got a lemon", I bought this iron 6 months ago. Over the last few weeks of ironing, it has left rust stains on my clothes. I have been using distilled water, and keep my iron very clean. I even emptied out the water and re-filled the tank! The rust seems to be leaking out of the tip of the heating plate. What a waste of time to do the wash then almost finish ironing your favorite pair of white pants, THEN have to throw them right back into the wash again. I am a very busy working, first time mom, I don't have time for such business. Yesterday, during my ironing the heat element completely shut down. I couldn't understand at first why the darn shirt wouldn't iron. I have not been able to heat the iron since. I guess she just died on me. I wonder if the other comments written on this site were from the company????

"iron leaves rusty stains-horrible iron", Bought this iron - first thing out of the box it says you need to run two to three full tanks of water through it using the steam. Never heard of that one before. Even with "cleaning the tank out" it left rust stain marks on the clothes. This is a horrible iron. I took it back because an iron should not stain the clothes .

"For Serious Ironers Only!!!", I bought this iron to replace a T-Fal, which fell apart before its time despite its priciness.

The Euro is heavy and this is a good thing! You have to apply less pressure to get a crisp edge and perfect press. It provides steam galore, both normal and bursts, and even allows you to steam with the iron held vertically (ie. to steam wrinkles out of drapes). The iron has a very long cord and a solid feel. Today I made curtains and this iron was a pleasure to use!

The Quiltmaker should read the manual....the safety feature that turns the heat off if you leave it unattended is overcome simply by moving the iron from horizontal to vertical a couple of times.
Easy, and a small price to pay for the peace of mind. Heats back up in a flash, too!

I enthusiastically recommend this iron!

"Superior product at a reasonable price", Ironing has never been a favorite activity, but the Euro-Pro Shark makes it almost fun! It matches features with the more expensive Rowenta iron, plus has an anti-calcium filter and is faster heating at 1600 watts. Also, don't overlook the convenience of the 12-ft. cord and the large water tank. A good handling iron with a smooth and durable stainless steel soleplate, it is light to use but does a power job on wrinkles. The auto shutoff is a great feature and easy to reset. Terrific product at a price you can live with.

"NOW THAT'S AN IRON!!!", What an iron! I had a Black and Decker for years that broke and I replaced it with this one. It has been worth every penny. The wrinkles fall out of my clothes. The heat is distributed very evenly and moister is really easy to adjust as needed. The cord is extra long so I don't feel attached to the wall. It might look bulky but it is not. It is really light. Would recommend it to my mother.
