"Was a 5-star, Now a 1-star"
I loved this product!!!! It worked great and I was a devout "steamer convert." After about two months though, the motor burned out on it and the smell was horrific. I called customer service who told me to clean it with fresh water. Obviously that did not fix it. I have now been tasked with boxing it up and paying for shipping both ways for EuroPro to fix it. Now it just one steaming pile of youknowwhat. The cost for shipping and the painintheassness of it all will lead me to buy a different brand of steamer (can't live without it now) and never buy a EuroPro item again.

"I have not had any problems..."
I have not had any problems with my steamer. I have had it about 6 mos. and have not picked up an iron since receiving it as a Christmas gift. Once I learned that it is best to always use the brush attachment as it concentrates the steam, I have really liked the results (not so much before learning that). Yes, the plastic tubing gets hot. That's why it has a big warning, however the part that you hold does not. I have not had any leaking issues once I figured out how to screw the top on properly. I even cleaned it out after my kids put cheerios in the water hole with no adverse effects. That being said, my mother, who uses hers significantly more often than me, recently has had hers become inoperable. After about a year, the machine won't stay on. It turns itself off whenever she turns it on. She now has to buy somethign else. Only time will tell how long mine will last.

Lastly, The one thing I don't care for in its design is the metal hanger contraption on the top. No matter what I do, I find it awkward that your clothes swivel around when you try to steam them. Then, if you hold the bottom tight to keep this from happening, you have to watch out for your fingers. I would prefer something that does not move when you hang clothes on it.

Overall, I am now a steamer convert and question why I even own an iron (oh yeah, for crafts). I am happy with this product. Perhaps if you plan on using it heavily, you should choose something a little more durable, but if you are like me and only use it for the occasional wrinkled piece of clothing, it is more than acceptable for its price.

"So far so good..."
I've had this steamer for about a month now without problems. It takes ~1-2 minutes to heat up and puts out enough steam to do the job well and quickly. I kept my iron handy for any tough jobs I didn't think the steamer could handle, but have yet to need the thing. Works well on shirts, pants, and coats. The steam is hot and will hurt if you get too close to the vent but it's not scalding and will not burn. So far the only fault I can find is that after ~4-5 min. of continuous use the steam will stop coming out for ~30 seconds...but it's always comes back on.

I was surprised to read so many negative reviews, if I have any problems I will re-post. So far, its been an excellent value for the money and I love the thing!!!!

"This is a piece of junk!"
Struggled with this item for a year now. It works sporadically, doesn't steam that well, and the on off switch continually malfunctions. It is cheaply made of plastic and some of the paint has melted off. It is tippy and the water reservoir has a poorly fitting plastic cap that leaks if you can ever get it on to begin with. DON'T BUY.

"It was fine until it began leaking"
I've had this steamer for about 6 months and was pleased with it (in spite of its hose which is too short to reach the top of my drapes) until a few days ago when it suddenly began leaking hot water all over the floor. Fortunately, I purchased it from a store with a great return policy. It is going back to the store today.

What our customer's say!

"Decent steamer.", I am honestly surprised by the very negative reviews here. I have used hand steamers and commercial steamers when working in retail stores, and am mostly happy with this home steamer. It is effective on most types of clothing, even my husband's military uniforms, and is simple to use. The negatives would be that it is awkward to move around and does get somewhat hot on the exterior. Neither of these is a big enough hassle to cause me to go back to the iron, though!!

"Decent Steamer if you don't have high expectations", I've had this for about a year. Overall it works well. I think we all have high expectations for a steamer because of the infomercials that sell this product. A steam cleaner is good for getting out general wrinkles, as well as some smells and dirt. Not to replace something that needs that "ironed" look (ie. button up dress shirts). I use it for my dresses and my husband's suits.
We took pics of my niece in her wedding dress (before the wedding day) and she got a little bit of dirt and wrinkles on it. We used this steamer and it took all of the wrinkles out and a lot of the dirt.
Cons:
1. There is no handle so toting it even from one spot to another in the same room is a hassle. I take it downstairs to steam my couches sometimes, and it is a major pain.
2. The extender rod can be flimsy and hard to move.
3. While steaming, occasionally you have to pull the steamer all the way up so the condensation moves back down the tube into the bucket so it doesn't leak onto your clothes.
4. There is no separate handle on the actual steamer part so it can be a bit hot.

Design on this one isn't the best, but it does actually take most of the wrinkles out of my clothes so I'm glad I have it (because I hate ironing).

"You couldn't do worse", When I first took the unit out of the box, I knew I had made a mistake. Not only does the unit itself fell cheaply constructed, but all of the attachments are held together by primitive, easy-to-break levers. When turned on, the unit is loud and hemorrhages scalding water all over your clothes. I would have returned it, but attachments had arrived broken already. We tried using it on the set of an independent film - we were surprisingly relieved when the product burned itself out after a few hours of operation.
Don't buy it.

"Value on the dollar", Its easy to set up and heats up in a few minutes. Good value for your money

"Totally Bummed", I wish I had read the reviews here before I bought the steamer. After two months of great use (I love steaming instead of ironing) I now have the mysterious won't turn on problem. I have emailed technical assistance but from what I read here I don't think I'll be hearing from them. If I do hear from them I'll let you know the results...in the meantime DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

"Definitely does the job", Despite the other reviews on this page, I got this steamer as an early wedding gift and I love it. I even used it to steam my dress (and I saved a bundle).

It takes about 2 minutes to produce steam and takes only seconds to get every wrinkle out. As for the other reviews that complain that it is "too hot"...what do you expect steam to be? Cold?

For $59.99 this is an excellent value, if you want something that isn't "rickety" as other reviews have stated, you can pay up to $300 for a steamer and I'm sure it would meet your standards. I keep the steamer set up and have never had that problem.

I have had the steamer for 5 months now and have never had a problem. As for others who state they have had problems...the steamer does need to be filled with water.

"I Wish there were ZERO STARS", What A JOKE!!! This whas a disappointing experience. The Garment Steamer never really worked. I wasted a valuable time in this deal. I bought one at target first missing parts then I went back returned it and came back home to use it and again never worked. What a WASTE of my time! The second GARMENT STEAMER ONE and OFF button kept turning off about one minute never producing any steam. I tried to contact customer service to find out if I was using it right and customer sevice is no HELP AT ALL! MY ADVISE IS: PLEASE DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME WITH IT. Sincerely,<br />

"DON'T BUY THIS ITEM!", Brand new out of the box, this steamer doesn't work and never has produced any steam.

The company does not respond to repeated requests to honor the warranty or to repair the item. The item was thrown out with the trash.

"Euro Pro Garment Steamer", Don't buy this item. The first time I tried to use it ,it did't work . The steamer went on for about 20 seconds. Repeated attempts had the same results. Have tried to reach the company for over a month many times a day. All I get is busy signals.
Prior to this I bought Euro Pro's hand steamer , It also did'nt work. I would never buy another one of this company's products.

"Don't Buy This One", Heats up fast, but be prepared to don your gas mask or only use outside as the pungent odor emitted from the flexible hose is enough to send you gasping for fresh air within the first 60 seconds of use.
