"Get down on your knees and pray if you buy any Euro-Pro prod"
Because the quality of their products are next-to-nothing. And heaven forbid you should want any customer service once your product has broken down! My Euro-pro cannister vac died after 4 years, and there is NO info on it on their site, their India call-center is entirely unhelpful and clueless, and no one ever answers the phone or returns a call from corporate HQ. They don't know the meaning of "customer service"! Stay away from Fantom products too, which have gone downhill since Euro-Pro/Shark bought them.

"Maybe In Euros it is a Pro- a Dog in Dollars"
Did not appear at all sturdy right out of the box- I should have sent it back right away - cheaply made -good only for edge work w/o the head on the wand. With wand on, low suction. I pick stuff up more efficiently by hand. Tough to carry around - tougher to use as drag around canister floor unit. I really hate the thing. Sad waste of $99 . This thing is a real dog no matter what you see on TV demos or what anyone else says.

"Great performance for the money"
I have owned this vacuum cleaner for about two months now. I live in a 1 bedroom apt (~600 sq ft). about half of our floors are loop berber and the other half are hardwood. The vacuum works well on both floor types. It has great suction power and is easy to use (i.e. haul around, turn, pull, push etc). It comes with a bare floor and a "self propelled" carpet brush attachment which work adequately. The vacuum is neatly designed. Futuristic looking almost, and the silver plastic and blue look very industrial and modern to me.

Details:
The top of the vacuum cleaner lifts to reveal the dust collection canister, and two small attachments for upholstery and for corners/hard to reach places. The small attachments are somewhat difficult to use since they are very small and do not cover a large enough area of the upholstery or furniture you are cleaning... this has not been a problem for me thus far since all the cloth covered surfaces in my house are washable. I estimate with practice you could meticulously vacuum a whole couch in about 20 minutes (???).

The filters are the only part of the vacuum cleaner that are both a blessing and a curse. They are HEPA filters which is great for allergy sufferers (like myself). There are three filters, which WILL get clogged relatively soon depending on your conditions. When we were doing some repairs in a wall collecting the drywall dust clogged the vacuum cleaner in one day, but this is not what it was designed for anyway. Tapping the filters can be annoying as small dust specs inevitably escape. Washing them is very easy. I reccomend buying an extra set of filters which you can wash and have ready while the others are in use... you can then just switch and replace. Nothing is more annoying than finding out your vacuum cleaner has no power when you have mustered teh will power to clean.

All in all a great buy at this price. From other products I have seen it should be pretty durable.

"Great on hardwoods"
I have a small apartment with hardwood floors, so I don't need some big and expensive canister vac to suck dust. What I bought seems to be just as good the larger, higher priced models. This thing has great suction; you'll need to clean the filters often, but even if you don't, it will still suck well. It's easy to tap them into a wastebasket, and every 8-10 runnings, you should run the filters under the water faucet. The attachments are fine. The cord rolls up into the machine, which is nice. The exhaust gets a little warm, so make sure there is enough room around the unit for air flow. If your place is larger than 1100 or 1200 sqft, you may want to get something bigger. I'm satisfied!

"What a piece of garbage!"
I've had this machine for just under a month. Every time I use it, it shuts itself off with just 10 minutes of use. Don't waste your money on this machine!

What our customer's say!

"DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM!!!!", I've had this vacuum for about a year and the only time it had good suction was the 1st time I used it - after that it was all down hill. I use it to clean 2 regular size rooms and a hallway and I have to bang the filter clean after each room. The so called "powered" floor wand hardly ever works b/c it runs on the suction power the machine does not have. Every time I vacuum with this thing it takes me 3x longer than it did with my old one. Replacement filters are no where to be found. BUYER BE WARE!!!!

"Filter Replacements", I noticed that many people were looking for filter replacements for the Shark EP79. It took me literally hours of looking for these filters myself because my filter is in pretty tough shape, even though the vacuum cleaner is still working fine EXCEPT for the rotary brush which broke within the first week of use (this same thing happened with my in-laws unit). [...]

"piece of junk", The suction is BAD the air brush quit. There is NO WHERE to buy parts for this thing..I spend more time fighting with this thing than using it...will never buy this brand again..vacuum or otherwise......gave one star because there was no zero...

"I don't recommend anyone to buy this vacuum", I bougth this vacuum about a year ago...and now looking for another one. It is terrible on carpets (especially if you have an animal in the house). It's ok for hard wood floors, but I think that if you are looking to buy a vacuum cleaner, you don't want one to clean floors and another one for carpets. That's nuts! Filters are imposibble to buy too!

"Filter nightmare", Well so much for a vacuum with a lot of power, it does not have any if you do not clean the filter every time you vacuum four room house and no power of suction on carpet if you do thoses at last. Well not a good buy to my taste and by the way I am still looking for replacement filters....

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Seems Like a Lot of Work to Clean!", Since I have mostly tile floors, I wanted a good canister vac that would be easier to "pull" around than my expensive upright. I finally decided on the Shark Euro-Pro Bagless vacuum. This vac claimed to have the most suction power and the filter was "tap" to clean. After receiving the vac and reading the manual, I found that there are actually three filters and all have to be replaced every so many months. There was no information on where to buy the filters. The vac does seem to have the power, but the manual states that the power will deminish if the filters are not cleaned/replaced properly. The clean-up of the filters is a time consuming job and must be done after each use. The vac comes with two floor tools (one powered). I use the power tool for all cleaning (tile and carpet). The way the floor tools swivel at the end of the wand makes getting into small places easy.

"Great power!!!", I purchased the small handheld Shark and discovered that the power was as good as advertised. I decided to try the EP79 bagless vacuum just to see if it had the same kind of power. It worked GREAT. The small handheld is 600W so you know that the EP79 model with its 1300W really sucked up everything. What really made me happy was its light weight. My muscles are not what they use to be. I purchase TWO more - one for each of my sisters. We all complained about how heavy our old (Hoover Hepa bagless) vaccums were and they really did not pick up the small particles on the floor. Thanks for the really great vaccum. I want to get rid of the old Hoover (its almost new) but it would not be fair to burden anyone with it.

"Outstanding vacuum for small and medium jobs!", I bought this vacuum to replace a Hoover upright vacuum. I live in a one bedroom apartment with all rooms except kitchen and bathroom carpeted -- plus I have pets who often track litter onto the carpet and shed hair like they have a neverending supply (sometimes I think they do). It's also small and powerful enough to make it a world class vacuum for car interior detailers. This is an oustanding vacuum for people like me.

Pros: INCREDIBLY lightweight and compact; Large rollers make it easy to drag along or I can easily carry the canister around with me with no effort, plus they include a shoulder strap to make it even easier (though I never needed to use it). Storage is equally painless as the unit is very compact (roughly 15"x10"x10") and has some helpful storage features (the cord -- about 20' long -- retracts into the canister, and the metal vacuum attachment telescopes to about half its size). The filtration system is excellent; there is a noticable improvement in the air quality when I've finished vacuuming (versus my Hoover upright). It also picks up animal hair like nothing I've ever seen before short of my mother's ~$1500 "Rainbow" water vacuum cleaner. Bagless system lets you easily extract coins or jewelry or other valuables that may be accidentally sucked up. The included bare floor attachment is quite handy; vacuuming my kitchen seemed a little odd at first, but it works quite nicely and picks up stuff that even my "Swiffer" didn't find. And did I mention that it's pretty quiet, too?

Cons: I would have REALLY liked to see an electric power broom on this. As it is, the carpet sweeper is powered by the pull of the vacuum. It's not so bad on most carpets (berber or cut pile) but when the filter gets clogged the suction power drops, and therefore so does the sweeper power. The two buttons at the top (one for power, one for cable retraction) are poorly marked; I made a couple of labels and stuck them on for better identification. The included accessories (upholstory brush and crevice cleaner) and helpful and there's even a fixture on the vacuum to store them when not in use, but they constantly fall off. (I don't even store them on the vacuum any more.) I also would have liked a small brushless vacuum head for cleaning small carpeted areas (like my ferrets' cage). Replacement filters are rather hard to find too; I wound up having to order extras from the manufacturer.

Euro also makes an upright vacuum that has an electric power broom and a stronger motor (1800 watts versus 1300 watts), but it's a bit larger and won't allow me to vacuum under my futon like this one does. So would I buy it again? Absolutely, especially if I could get replacement filters at the same time!

"Not for houses with heavy use", If you only accumulate light dust in your house, I guess this good looking yet useless machine MIGHT do.

I am going to try the Dyson DC07 because I am sick of kneeling on my carpet to "scrub" the nozel over each bit.

"Very best for the price A++++++++", I bought this vacuum 3 months ago and till today I am very happy with the performance I got. It works great on pet hair and unsightful dust, upholstry attachments are awsome. Auto rewind cord feature is neat and viewable dust cup is very helpful. It's easy to move around and Overall I just love it.
