Others say...

"a must have item"
I've owned several peelers, including Pampered Chef. This is the easiest peeler that I have ever used. I recommend it highly.

"This is the best...."
I've had this peeler for about a year now. I use it often and it has held up great; even after running it thru the diswasher it still looks brand new.

This little gadget makes peeling easy and fun. It glides smoothly across potatoes and gets the job done quickly.

If you are looking for a new peeler, get this one...you won't regret it!

"Tough Character"
I have had my peeler almost 4 years. It feels great in your hand, has good blade protection for your fingers and has stayed very sharp. Its great on potatoes, cucumbers and apples. I was really impressed when I started using it to peel Butternut, Pumpkin and other hard squashes. So much faster and safer than a knife. It is truly the best peeler I have ever used. Buy it!

"I have two!"
Strange...one has the kitchenAid Emblem & the other looks exactly as pictured. Both are Onyx black.

I do prefer the one pictured...I purchased at Target. The most comfortable pealer I've ever used! Plus, it's very easy to use & the blade is sharp whether you're pealing outward or toward yourself.

The one with the round KA emblem I purchased at Chef's catalog. It is nice, but much heavier & thicker...probably much better for larger hands. Otherwise, it is just as good as the one pictured.

"Be warned..."
You should probably know that although this is the most exceptional peeler I've ever used, and although it completely removes the pain from the chore of peeling vegetables, it does have a downside. Regrettably, it has caused fighting amongst family members during holiday meal preparation. The best solution is probably to buy two if you ever have helpers in the kitchen, or just resign yourself to gracefully relinquishing "the good one" to family members and guests, and asking that they take turns, to avoid those unfortunate holiday "incidents."

This thing works so well that you will never again dread peeling vegetables--it's over before you know it--and so easy that you're almost disappointed when you don't have more to do.

What our customer's say!

"Five years old and still going strong", Comfort is subjective, and hard to test online.
But, I can say that the KitchenAid Peeler I bought five years ago is still happily in use today.

"Great start....bad finish", I was very happy with this Kitchen Aid peeler for about a year. All of a sudden, it has gone dull on me and I'll have to buy a new peeler, but not a Kitchen Aid. This is the second Kitchen Aid product I have been disappointed with. The first was the expensive hand-held can opener that I returned and replaced with a Progressive model that I love. I am giving up on the Kitchen Aid small items (but love my dishwasher!) This time I'll try the OXO peeler. It gets rave reviews and has a replaceable blade.

"good quality but a lil uncomfortable", The product is of good quality no doubt, but the grip is a lil uncomfortable for me, thats all.I wish the handle were a little slim..

"LOVE IT! You'll never buy another brand of peeler again!", I got this as part of a set. Used it only once and threw out the two cheap ones I had. This peeler is well worth the investment. I actually began getting volunteers in my kitchen to help peel potatoes once I got this beauty. I do recommend that you be careful to hang on to the plastic cover that comes on the blade when it is new. It protects the blade while in the drawer. And if your utensil drawer is like mine, it will protect rambling fingers from the sharp blades!!!

"Best peeler I've ever had!", This peeler works great! I really do not like to peel fruits and veggies, but with this I actually don't mind. Definately owns up to the KitchenAid repuation, which lately is unlikely. It seems many of the KitchenAid stuff I've stocked my kitchen with performs mediocre at best. This one is an exception, and IS exceptional.

"Where's the eye remover?", Very nice peeler except it's missing a feature that every other peeler I've ever seen has; a protuberance that can be used to remove the eyes from potatoes.

"Great peeler!", I love this peeler! As with all the Kitchenaid products I have purchased thus far, it is sturdy and well made. It has a nice, weighty feel in your palm and makes quick work of peeling potatoes. I promptly made scalloped potatoes after getting mine. Is it more expensive than the ones you get at your local retailer? Perhaps, but is worth every penny as it will outlast the cheap ones sold elsewhere.

"Eurotrash", I'm a big fan of KitchenAid products, I have been for a while, and when they release something new, I like to try it out. This peeler was no exception. It's mid-June, and the elderflowers are out in force along the hedgerows of Nottinghamshire, so I decided to make some delicious elderflower cordial. 25 heads of elderflower, 1.5kg of sugar, 75g citric acid, and 1.7l of water, plus, two lemons, sliced. At no point did I use this wonderful red peeler from Kitchenaid, but let me tell you, if I had have done, it would have made short shrift of those two lemons, if the recipe had called for lemon peel. It didn't. Just lemon slices. But this peeler is warmly recommended, anyway. It's peel-y good!

"The best peeler ever", I have always hated peeling potatoes and other vegetables, and so when I knew it was my turn to make Thanksgiving dinner, I decided to see if an expensive peeler would make a difference. I bought this one and absolutely LOVE it. I can't believe that a simple peeler could make me so happy, but after all those hand and arm cramps from my old metal peeler, this one makes all the difference in the world. I can peel potatoes in 1/3 or less of the time that I used to, and it requires absolutely no effort -- the blade is so sharp that if you put pressure on it, it'll take off more than just the skin of the vegetable you're peeling. When I had to peel 15 potatoes for dinner, it took 5 minutes and so little effort. It's also ergonomically comfortable, and I love the fact that KA includes a plastic cover for the blade.

This is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets (who would have ever thought you could get joy from something so simple??) and I'm constantly buying it for friends who cook because it makes such a difference.

"engineering could be better", While upon first glance this peeler looks of quality and to a degree, feels of quality and while it does a fine, if not better job at peeling...upon close inspection one would doubt the durability and longevity of this peeler.

To explain, the blade freely pivots between the plastic arm in 2 small holes at each end of the arm. Nothing more holding the blade in place. What should happen if this peeler developes a fraction near these holes or if the arm itself breaks? You got it, a peeler forever rendered useless. KitcheAid could easily remedy this and why they didn't bother, considering their name and general good quality of products, is beyond me.
I have also taken note that the blade on the lower end, due to it's pivoting within the plastic hole has caused some chaffing.

It would be nice to also see KitchenAid change to "soft grips" as this would also give it longevity [wear-wise] and give added comfort to the user as apposed to the hard plastic that they have chosen.

While this will not prevent me from purchasing from KitchenAid again (for the most part, I like KitchenAid) I intend to inspect more closely, in the future, their products rather than basing my purchase hastily on first appearances or their [usually] good name.
KitchenAid produces some fine kitchenware albeit. However, with this product they have fallen short.
