Others say...
"Sprayer Problem" I had an older Little Green, used heavily and loved it, so I bought this model and have the same problem. It's a few years old and used only a couple times. The sprayer no longer works. "Love my little machine!" I have had my little green for about 3 years maybe even longer (mine actually looks different than the one pictured...older model with no heat) and still going strong. I paid $89 at WalMart and it has paid for itself. It is EXCELLENT for the car and spot cleaning. It is definitely designed for small jobs and it is quite good at handling them. So if you are looking for an easy to use machine for small clean-ups this is an excellent choice. "Excellent around the house machine" This is an excellent machine to have around the house for cleaning up after pets or anything else. It is nice and small and works very well for such a cheap unit. Also great for cleaning couches and the interrior of cars. "Fixing the Sprayer" If you've read the majority of the reviews for this product you'll notice there is a consistent problem with the sprayer clogging and no longer working. Here's how to fix it. We originally bought the machine a year and a half ago and it quit spraying after only 2 uses. Bissell replaces it under warranty but the bad thing is that your "new" Little Green is only warranteed for the the rest of the time left on the original one you bought. Of course our replacement quit spraying as well until today when my husband figured out how to fix it. Get some liquid CLR Calcium Lime Rust Remover or Lime-Away product and pour straight into the clean water solution tank. Fill only to about 3/4 of an inch of the CLR in the tank, then turn on the Little Green and push the sprayer button. It will immediately begin spraying again. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then run the rest of the CLR through. Then run through a tank or two of clean water. The problem is the phosphates in your water that clog the sprayer line. This should get rid of the clogs. I would also follow the advice of running through some clean water before storing your Little Green. Other than the sprayer problem the Little Green is very effective at carpet stains and cleaning. "Spray broke after 6 uses" The first time I used this machine I thought it was ok. It did spread the dirt and so instead of cleaning up just the spot, I ended up doing the whole area.. Small, easy to carry. Be careful when you put it back together after cleaning--if it doesn't work, you might have the gasket on backwards. On the fifth or sixth time, the spray nozzle quit working. Haven't been able to repair it. I wouldn't buy it again. . .for the money I'd spend more and buy a full size machine or rent one. For spot cleaning, I use one of the spray and pat dry cleaners (Nature's Miracle since I'm usuallly am dealing with pet stains).

What our customer's say! "Bissell Little green pro heat", What a great little cleaner. The unit does what it is supposed to, clean up small messes. I was a little concerned after reading a few negative reviews, but that concern quickly disappeared after using the machine 5-10 times. The unit is much quieter than an earlier version I also own but just as or more effective when cleaning up pet stains as well as everyday messes around the house. I clean it after every use and it hasn't let me down. I believe cleaning is the key. Like anything else in life it has to be kept clean in order to function properly every time. What a great unit, it won't disappoint. "Good for small jobs.", I bought this because I have an older dog who sometimes has accidents. It works pretty well on small areas and is simple to set up. Cleaning is a bit of a pain but a necessity. The clear containers make it easy to see how much solution is left and how much dirt comes up. The cleaning solution is a bit pricy but I haven't experimented with a concoction of my own and use the recommended Bissell cleaning solution. "Good for spills - but have to unclog sprayer often", Have had this model for over 5 years. This works great for extracting spills. However, if you do not religiously run clean water through after you use it, the Bissell cleaning solution will solidify in the heater. We dismantled the whole unit after it quit spraying and found the heating element completely clogged with "soap". We have only used the solution specifically for this unit. Bottom line: works great. Do not store solution in tank. After use, run clear water through system to clean and sprayer should stay patent! "Yup, it sucks...", There's not much to get excited about here. It picks up stains and dirt on carpets. It does it fairly well. It even helps to clean the car seats. It doesn't generate world peace, but it generates hotter-than-usual cleaning solution and recaptures it with fairly strong suction. I had an old model, now I have the newer model. Buy one if you have a cat or kids... "Get out Stains Fast!", This is a handy little unit. We used for cleaning up accidents from our puppy. The Little Green ProHeat was more thorough than cleaning by hand. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Great little machine!", It's perfect for your car, stairs, area rugs and furniture! I really enjoy this little machine! it's lightweight, compact, long power cord. it's a must have if you have pets or children! "Upholstery and Spot Cleaning Machine`", I had very poor experiences with early Bissell carper steamers- really cheap construction and they leaked everywhere. The compact Little Green line is an exception. Well sealed and easy to operate they are ideal for spot cleaning and upholstery- a must for those with pets and little kids who spill and make other kinds of more biological messes. Use the pet shampoo with it for top level cleaning. For general floor shampooing I rent the heavy duty shampooer from Home Depot for $20 every few months and shampoo my rugs using the recommended carper cleaner and a half cup of Tropical Gain laundry detergent. I find the laundry soap in the big machine is so far superior to any home unit I can buy that it is worth the trip to rent it.These little guys are great for little jobs- don't waste your time and money on the bigger ones though. "broke within first month", We have had this machine 2 years and put up with the broken head that cracked after the first month. Then about 2 months ago, it stopped spraying. I guess they only make it last for the first year. I called Bissell's customer service and they said there was nothing they could do for me. Wouldn't offer a discount on a new unit. Don't bother investing in this machine if you want something that lasts. "Didn't work for us", After a few uses, the spray function stopped unless I removed the scrub brush and the extraction capability was really lousy unless I really leaned on it. "Clogged Up!!", When I first bought the Little Green ProHeat, I loved it. I have an older, often incontinent dog and thought the Little Green ProHeat was the best thing since sliced bread -- small, easy to carry, easy to use, easy to clean, great suction. Then after about 3 months, it stopped spraying. At first I thought it was just the nozzle so I cleanned it out, but still no spray. I see another reviewer found a problem with the heating element clogging so I will open it up and try to remove the heating element. If I bought a new one I would get the one without the heating element. I have the big Bissel upright carpet steamer without the heating element and love it. ![]() |
