"Love it."
We love this coffee maker. It is so wonderful to wake up to freshly ground and brewed coffee. We never have a "burned" or "old" taste to the coffee, as it is stored in a thermos. The only negative is that we have found that the coffee maker only lasts a couple of years before having to be replaced. Otherwise, it is definitely an A+.

"Don't bother"
We've gone through a couple Cuisinart Grind and Brews, both were junk. They need to be cleaned completely between uses and they are a pain to clean. They begin to leak after only a couple years and then need to be replaced. The door with the basket will occasionally pop open half way through the cycle so you can wake up to coffee all over the counter. This coffeemaker is a total waste of money. We acquired a Melitta Mill and Brew that is vastly superior but it doesn't appear to be available anymore, pity.

"The Best Coffee Maker "
I purchased the Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee pot a early last year. While looking on Amazon for a second carafe I was amazed at all the negative reviews this coffee pot received. I have never once experienced an issue with the pot overflowing or grounds in my coffee. We typically make one pot every morning on weekdays and two or three each weekend or holiday day. So the machine has had lots of opportunity to fail. I only use water that has been passed through our osmosis system and carefully wash out the coffee grounds basket checking to see the valve at its bottom freely passes water. I have used the built in grinder on several occasions and found it to work just as advertised.

Prior to purchasing this machine, we purchased Star-Bucks coffee makers and an occasional Mr. Coffee, etc. We switched because they seem to all die after 10-12 months of use. So far the Cuisinart has exceeded our expectations.

"Hunk of Junk"
An absolute hunk of junk! Mine (purchased 5 months ago) has never been easy to clean is currently on the way to the local landfill after I tired of using pliers to remove the grinder and basket attachment. Even using pliers, the grinder feature is impossible to remove. While having freshly brewed coffee is nice, this machine is not worth the hassle and agrivation!

"worked great ..... for a while"
Cuisinart (DGB-900BC) 12 Cup Grind & Brew Coffeemaker (Brushed Chrome) + (ED150) Bean Vac Coffee Canister.... Set the automatic timer and then the filter drawer kept popping open when the grinder started ...WHAT A MESS ... grounds spattered everywhere!!! But the worse thing was that the water brewing would miss the pot and there would be water everywhere. Gee the timer function was useless because i would have to stand there and hold the drawer closed until all functions were done! On another note ... cuisinarts rice cooker Cuisinart CRC-800 8-Cup Rice Cooker.... kept scorching my rice on warm and also would bubble and spatter all over the counter ... they replaced it! I had the same problems. I threw it away! Cuisinart? What happened to your quality??? Spend a few extra dollars and buy the VitaClay VitaClay VF7900-3 Chef Gourmet 6-Cup Rice and Slow Cooker Pro, Brushed Stainless.... perfection personified!

What our customer's say!

"I hate this coffee maker!", HIGH maintainence! Must clean several parts every time you make coffee. Occasionally the door pops open while brewing and coffee and grounds go everywhere. Takes 2 scoops more coffee to make a pot than my Capresso. Would not recommend!

"Not worth the money", We loved this coffee maker for the first year. Despite having to always clean the grinder and the sound of a jet taking off in the kitchen first thing in the morning, it made an awesome, hot cup of joe. After a year however, it started leaking out the bottom and we had to clean a mess every morning. A month or two later, the programmer started acting up and last week it finally died. It's depressing when you spend so much for a coffee maker only to have it die in a little over a year. What a waste!

"LOVE IT", I have a Cuisinart grind and brew (with the glass carafe) that I bought and took into work because I purchased a Stainless steal GE coffee maker for home. To say it was junk is an understatement! I loved the first one so much I purchased the Cuisinart grind and brew with the chrome carafe for home. It makes great coffee and keeps it hot for hours. The only thing that is different is that I have to use a clear measuring cup to put the water in because you can not use the carafe to measure the water...totally worth the trouble.

"Do Not Waste Your Money...", We got this item and now it leaks water all over the place, it brews half pot, and the clock/timer has gone out. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ITEM. In addition the Company does not stand by their product, their customer care rep. was rude and did not care or gave to much interest. He said he can't do anything for us on this. So if you do decide to go this product anyway, be ready in a little while to replace this Item, Model DGB-600BC. Thanks All, I just don't want this same thing to happen to people who buy this item after all it's not cheap either, THIS IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL. Very unhappy.

"Wonderful until it fails (and it does fail)", Now on my third one of these. Always the same failure modes: Brews half a pot then turns off. And it leaks. First one failed in a few months. Returned it and got another one. Repeat... Repeat. Done. It's probably also worth mentioning that Cuisinart's "fill-in-the-blanks" online tech support requests are never answered. Get a Capresso instead. Worth the extra $$$.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great Coffee Brewer!", Best Coffee Maker Period! Does require cleaning and grinder drying, but all like it would. We do not use strong coffee and don't mind the noise. It's 3 rooms away and acts as an alarm clock. We use the Gold Filter and love it. Good Buy!

Those who had trouble with it didn't put it together correctly. We've had ours 5 years!

"cruisinart coffeemaker & grinder..", For the price, this is a good item..Makes a very good cup of coffee.. A little labor involved in cleaning product daily, but worth it.

"Year 3 and still going ", I've been using this thing 4 days a week for the last 3 years and have a great experience with it. I'll give you cleaning the thing is a bit of problem, but were talking 2 minutes. You rinse out the basket, rinse out, and be very careful to dry, the grinder and you're good to go.

The coffee it makes is the best I've had from any home brewer and I'm pretty picky. I've only had one incident of the thing overflowing and that was due to the top being on wrong. The carafe is excellent, keeps coffee warm most of the day (although when there is less coffee in it, obviously it looses heat quicker) The timer is easy to set and works great. With the thermal carafe you can set to go off early and get to the coffee when ever you want.. it stays plenty warm for me, but I'm not a piping hot drinker, so if you like it just below boiling might be a problem.

It is a bit loud when it kicks off the morning, sounding a bit like a jet taking off, but you know, I just think of it as another alarm clock. One other small criticism, it takes abit long to brew a cup. But I think thats why the coffee tasts better. I've also owned a Bunn and that brewed way to fast, the water barly picked up the flavors of the beans. This one is excellent.

"I have to agree. with previous reviews.....", I have to agree that this coffee maker is less than I had expected. Coffee is lukewarm and for some reason it leaks water onto my counter with every use. I'm constantly cleaning up my counter top. This is my third Cuisinart coffee maker and once it quits, I'll not buy another.

"Even after a new grinder", I too struggle with the grinder every pot. I even purchased a new grinder thinking that was the problem. It wasn't. I can't get it out of the machine. I've had it for three years now, I don't have any of the other problems, and I love the non drip carafe, but I'm on to a new coffee maker. I think I am done with the grind and brews, just too messy.
