"All around BEST pan for everything." This is the absolute best pan that was ever made. It is called an "everyday" pan for a good reason. You can use it for everything. If I had to leave my home in a hurry and only carry one cooking utensil, it would be this pan! You can use it to sear a roast on the stove top, then pop it straight in the oven. The pan uses moist heat to bake and the meat will literally melt in your mouth. So tender! I can not take the credit for the great pot roasts because this pan will literally tenderize a 2x4 piece of wood! I buy them for wedding gifts and everyone loves them. Definitely a must have for everyone! "Makes a great gift" I bought the 12 inch everyday pan with lid as a birthday present for a relative and he loves it. We both love Calphalon and have bought nearly all of our pots and pans and griddles from Amazon.com. You can't beat the prices and quality of the products. "Very handy to have around" This has been a very useful pan to have in the kitchen. Because of it's design it provides easy access to the entire cooking surface. It has been good for saute, sauces, frying, even stir fry. I do wish I had gotten non-stick, but that's just personal preference. "Way to go" This is the first Calphalon that I have bought and I am very pleased. Awesome, is an understatement. You can cook anything in this pan. Like some of the reviews I have read, you should take care to read the care instructions on this pan. It will help in using it correctly and preventing damage. I will continue buying this brand from Amazon, because as you can see, I don't think anyone else an beat the price. "review for the calphalon pan" This product is sticky, so I returned it to Amazon. What our customer's say! "Disappointed", This is the first Calphalon pan I have purchased. After hearing how wonderful Calphalon was, I couldn't believe how poorly it preformed. It seems no matter what I prepare in this pan, it sticks and is diffcult to clean. I now rarely use it and know if it was easier to clean I would use it often. Very disappointed. "Good wok but hard to clean", This wok is good quality. But it's so easy to get food sticked on it. And it's so hard to clean. It has been my cupboard for a long time. "everyday pan?", This pan was so bad I sent it back. I would not recommend it to anyone as everything stuck in it! "Everything sticks, hard to clean, buy le creuset instead", I have had this pan for over a year now and have basically stopped using it and have given it to my husband to use as an oil pain for changing the oil for the car. I have used many calpahlon skillets and knifes and also am an avid user of le creuset. I love the calphalon non-stick skillets for things like scrambled eggs. With this pan however, I have tried cooking on low heat, with a heat diffuser and using plenty of oil while washing the pan before and after use. Still...it sticks horribly bad and is terrible to clean. It does cook fairly evenly. But if it's even cooking you want combined with ease of use and durability buy enamel coated cast iron like le creuset. If le creuset is too pricy, well don't buy anything from calphalon except non-stick or knifes (their knifes are great!) otherwise you'll be sorely disappointed. "Can't kill it!", I've burned more things on this thing than I can count (I'm truly not an awful cook; just a forgetful one). It's still going strong after 3 years of punishment from me. Just the other day I left it in the oven to braise some beef ribs and I forgot to check on it -- oops! The meat ended up burning and the liquid had boiled down until it was black and coated the entire bottom. I soaked it for 30 minutes in the sink and it was so easy to clean I could have used a baby wipe. I've burned cheese, milk, carmelized sugar, and anything else you can imagine on this pan and it still cleans up nice and new. Like everyone says, this is NOT non-stick! I'd say it's almost-non-stick as it's easy enough to clean up, but it also manages to give a great sear. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Made a mistake here............", My error. I thought I was buying a non-stick type pan. Not so with this particular Calphalon line. It is a nice size, nice lid as well. Didn't notice it didn't have a single handle. Getting it to cook properly has been a learning process. If you want non-stick avoid this one. "The perfect everyday pan! ", This pan is wonderful! More than I even expected it to be, and WHAT an amazing value. It's big enough to work with and the hard-anodized composition allows food not to stick, without the worry that comes with Teflon products. I love this pan! "Good Pan, Great Value", In general, you really can't go wrong with Calphalon. I picked up this plan to add to our completely calphalon collection. It is a great everyday pan, durable, with a wide base. It isn't really non-stick though, so make sure you use some non-stick spray. I had a tough time getting some food off of it the other day. But overall, a pretty good pan for a great price. "Great deal for Calphalon!", This pan is fabulous! I only gave it 4 stars because it was described as non-stick; well, it doesn't have a non-stick coating, but the secret is to heat the pan and not the oil; only add the oil when ready to immediately follow with the food! It cooks evenly and cleans up well after soaking in hot soapy water. I won't be putting mine in the dishwasher, but some say you can. Also, since the handles aren't plastic, you can broil in the oven! It is a very sturdy pan I figure we'll have "forever" -and for the price, I don't care if it's non-stick or not. "Calphalon ", I had to wait for my Calphlon but it was worth it, I have really enjoyed using this 12" pan for everything. |
