Others say...
"Happy Customer!" My old popcorn popper used to pop about 50% of the corn kernels. The Presto 04820 Poplite Hot Air Popper pops 99% of the corn kernels! It is lightweight, compact, easy to use, and highly efficient. "Say bye bye to microwave and stove popcorn" Amazing! I actually bought this at walmart. I will never buy microwave popcorn nor will I cook it again on the stove. Even without butter and salt the popcorn is tasty. Very healthy and money saving. Excellent buy. "Good popper" This popper pretty much pops every kernel, which is great. Of course it gets very hot but that seems par for the course as with any hot air popper. "Pretty good popcorn popper" Works fine if you employ some of the tricks others here have mentioned, like not putting the kernels in until it's heated up, or holding the butter melting cup up over the top a little until it gets going. The one thing I hate and wish they would redesign is no on-off switch. We had one like that before, but the new ones all seem to go on and off only by pulling the plug, which is pretty cheap and stupid. I do also wish the spout was designed to aim directly into a bowl that doesn't have to be the size of the Grand Canyon to keep the popped stuff from flying all over the room and on the floor, counter, etc. I thought we had a machine awhile ago (the one with the on/off switch) that had a better one than this. "Not Disappointed" I bought this to replace my 25 year old West Bend hot air popper that finally stopped heating. It works OK (not as well las the West Bend), leaves a small amount of unpopped kernals (many pushed into catch bowl) but is a good value for the price. Much prefered over the $80.00 + enclosed models that were also available.

What our customer's say! "Great kitchen appliance", This popcorn popper is terrific. It is very easy to use and makes great, healthy popcorn. "Very happy with this corn popper", My son has been asking for a hot air corn popper for at least a year now, so I finally bought this for him and was quite pleased with the flavor quality of fresh hot air popcorn vs. microwave popcorn. I also like the ability to control the salt, butter, and other seasonings so easily. A neighbor girl came over and asked for cinnamon sugar popcorn which was easy to whip up, and had I not had this popper there's not a chance in the world I would have had microwave cinnamon sugar popcorn on hand. The other benefit is that hot air popped corn is healthier than microwave popcorn, and costs significantly less. We did end up with a few unpopped kernals, but that's to be expected. The plastic butter melter didn't wash up too well in the dishwasher, so that had to be washed by hand. Since purchasing this we've made all kinds of gourmet flavored popcorn with the on hand seasonings and even purchased a bottle of nacho cheese flavored seasoning. Parmesan cheese works well also. "Finally - a popper that works!", I am an avid backyard birder, and my outside birds love popped popcorn. Purchasing microwave popcorn was getting expensive, so I purchased one of those microwave popcorn bowls. The bowl lid burned after one use, and the bowl became horribly stained - not to mention that half of the kernals were left unpopped. I purchased the Presto 04820, and I was so relieved at how efficiently it worked, with nearly every kernal popped! I have used it on average of four times per day since I purchased it, and it keeps on delivering time after time. I highly recommend this product. "Hot Air Popcorn Popper Nostalgia worth every cent!", I don't care for microwave popcorn. First, it's just so much popcorn per bag, and for those days when I just want a few handfuls, most goes to waste. Then there's the fact that if I'm with a lot of people, having to pop individual micro-bags seems silly. So I got on the web and looked for the hot air poppers - just like the one I had decades ago. Because NONE of the local stores carry them any more! Well I did the research and found the PopLite. It looks just like the one I remember from all those years ago. They're effortless to use. In the same time or less than it takes to micro a bag, I can get hot freshly popped corn - as much or as little as I want to make at the time. The best part of all this was the fact that there's an Orville Redenbacker Popper that is actually the very same model as this Presto 4820 but costs MORE money! (Why would I pay more money to get the Orville Redenbacker brand on the side of the very same popper?) I had originally found the Orville version out on the web but when I found the Presto, and compared them to be sure, I laughed and saved a few bucks! I'm very happy with the product. "Works well but with difficulty", Pops quickly, but the cover easily slips off if you tip the unit slightly (To help the kernels enter the bowl). You end up with popped and unpopped kernels everywhere. Many kernels get blown out unpopped, so it's a bit more wasteful than pan popping. I need to cut down on fats, though, so this is a decent compromise. It definitely needs an on/off switch! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "thanks to dave 5/17/2007....Oh yes, I love this popper too!", Have had it a year and use it at the least once a week. Dave on 5/17/07 had the best idea about spraying with olive oil and that is exactly what I do! I have garlic infused olive oil spray that I keep at the ready, as the popcarn spills into the big bowl, I sphritz then sea salt, more garlic powder and then cayenne or chili flakes or chili powder or all ( yea, spice addict!) and keep doing this while it is popping. Kind of fun, really. And I am telling you, it is the best popcorn!!! not dry or chewy. And this pops so fluffy and hot. Better than movie popcorn! The only thing is towards the end, the corn does fly out, so what I try to do is unplug at the end and the unpopped pieces settle and then pop anyway because of the heated unit with out blowing all over. I havent perfected this technique, I do find popcorn around the kitchen but it is worth every flying puff! I adore this popper and can not live with out it. In fact, I am out of popcorn as I write this and am tempted to run out to the store right now.... even tho it is 9 pm...yea, I am going to go now... bye! get this popper and have fun! "Works like it should", Very happy with this. It works just like it should. Easy to clean. If it had an on-off switch, it would be even better. "Good Popping Machine", Kids and wife love the popcorn that comes out of this. I have not had any unpopped corns. Works as designed and love the product. "Love It!", My family has had this machine since I was little and its been great. It allows my mom to have healthy popcorn, my dad to have extra salty popcorn and myself to have just the right amount of butter on the popcorn. This product is durable and lasts a long time and is a great buy! "A very good popper", We just received this popper 2 days ago and used it once. We were very pleased with how well it pops corn. It takes only a few minutes to pop one half cup of corn, which is enough for 2 people (while watching a dvd). We use a huge plastic bowl to catch the popcorn as it comes out of the chute, so there was plenty of room for all the kernels, even the very last ones. A little spritz with butter flavored spray, and we were ready to eat. The popcorn is very hot for a few minutes, so the plastic bowl is the best choice for holding it. There were only about 10 unpopped kernels, which is better than we've been getting from microwave popcorn, so I'm glad we decided to purchase this popper. ![]() |
