Others say...

"Nice! Especially in blue"
Excellent little hotpot - incredibly fast, and has never given me a problem. I had it at the office. Then I took it home and my wife now refuses to let me take it away. I need another one but I want it in blue. I wish they had the blue one! It would be nice if there were an "off" button so you didn't have to pull the plug out to turn it off. But all in all, it's great.

"I needed your reviews for confidence"
I have one that looks like this under Toastmaster label. I use it strictly for boiling eggs. I like the fact it maintains a heat level and I can then adjust it. I have forgotten it a couple of times and no problems. I just didn't trust it for reheating things I now will because of your reviews. I reheat coffee and no longer use microwave. Because of your reviews, it will replace my microwave for reheating. I also realized I haven't cleaned it for a long time:) Lazy. I just did by boiling water with a little vinegar. What a difference. Thanks for your reviews, all of them. I'm learning to use this kind of communications to make purchasing decisions and decided I better join y'all to help others. It works so well for me; Especially being alone.

"Perfect cooker"
Perfect for cooking little things like noodles and rice in. I'm in Iraq and it works great.

"A little temperemental, but works well enough"
I find this convenient while traveling. Quickly boils milk, water, soups, etc. Only problem I've had is that it seems to keep switching itself off and on while heating, which is kinda annoying when something is on simmer and needs constant heat. This might be a "feature" though. Other than that, works well the few times I've used it.

"Greatest Little Hot Pot Ever. "
This little pot has a temp. control that most don't. It's pretty much meltdown proof. I forgotten to shut it off, faster than a microwave. The only thing it needs is a pilot light to tell at a glance if it's on or not. I bought a single outlet wall tap with a pilot lite switch.

What our customer's say!

"Rival Hot Pot", I have had one before and works very well. I have had problems with the plug and have changed it. Overall it is a convenient and quick way to heat water for tea.

"Rival 4071WN 32-Ounce Hot Pot Express", Purchased to use in our travel trailer rather than use the microwave for coffee and soup.

Works great!!

"Pretty much awesome", Yep. This product is cheap AND good. I got one when I moved into college for making coffee and tea. Two years later, I'm still using it daily. It warms up water FAST and can be used as a regular pot in a pinch (hard-boiled eggs anyone?). Only bad part is no auto-shutoff. Still, I end up using it more than the much fancier water heater I got for my house-warming.

"It's hot all right.", This gets my tea water hot quickly, which is what I was after, but it does so and then remains on all the time. It does not turn off automatically when water is hot, it doesn't even turn down when the water reaches the boiling point. It just stays on. I'm conserned that it will run dry sometime when I'm busy (I got this for work) and not paying close attention. I should have check out this product more carefully, I would not have purchaed this had I known it did not have an auto-off feature.

"Great useful little thing", This product is designed for a simple task - boiling water - and it does this task perfectly.

The product does not come with an on/off switch, so you have to manually unplug the unit from the wall socket after the water boils.

"Rival Hot Pot", What can I say, Put water in, turn it on, and faster than a microwave you have boiling water. This was for my wife and she left it on one night and boiled all the water out of it. this is designed to operate with fluid in it, not empty, so it melted the plastic next to the hotplate. I got her a new one and she loves it. She promises to unplug it as soon as she is done from now on.

"cooking pot ", This pot is nice to have I use it often. Thank you for the fast delivery

"Basic heating", The hot pot does the basic job of keeping a liquid hot. front allows A variable thermostat control allows for a rolling boil of water at the mid-position.

The hinged lid snaps into place and is held by a tab on the spout. Hard to open the lid when the pot is filled with hot water. Pour too fast and water comes over the side edges of the spout. The wide size makes pouring from the full pot a little difficult.

I would rather have a glass or metal lined pot and not have heated food or water sitting in plastic but I think all these products are plastic.

In my kitchen, when I removed the plug from the outlet it was very hot. But this could be a problem in my house. I'm leaving this plugged in Friday night waiting to see if there's a problem the next day.

Holmes, the manufacturer seems to make low-end appliances, made in China of course, that hold up reasonably well. The hot pot plastic looks suspiciously like the plastic use for the Holmes window fan!

Conclusion: It does what it says at an inexpensive price. Compared to other hot water "air pump" units at $45 this is economical and basic appliance. I am concerned about health issues of hot food sitting in plastic made in China.

"Flaking and rusting of heating element", The heating element in this pot is a dark plate that looks to be coated with a non-stick product. After one use of boiling water, the next day I discovered the non-stick coating to be peeling and flaking. The metal exposed from the flaking was rusting. I returned it to the store promptly.

"Who designed this?", This would be a great unit, but whoever designed it put the spout higher that the rim. It is almost impossible to pour out of it without spilling. Otherwise, it is quite reliable....
