"good coffee maker for a good price"
this coffee maker is made with a simple design, which makes it simple to use. it is easy to clean and the built-in water filter makes for a smooth, tasty cup of joe every time. very satisfied!

"Braun"
It is hard to pour water in the maker without spilling. I would not purchase this item again.

"Great Value - Great Coffee"
We just got this coffee maker after breaking the carafe on our old Braun. My husband didn't want to not have coffee in the morning, so we purchased the Braun from a department store. We should have waited and ordered from Amazon! The water filter and the instruction booklet were missing from the package. The customer service at Braun was very nice and sent us a fast response. We are glad because this is a great coffee maker. We have tried many brands and this coffee maker makes the best coffee. We really like how fast this one brews coffee. We also like the new design with the open handle on the carafe and the pop open coffee filter. We can't rate the water filter, since that was missing from our package. All in all, this is a great coffee maker - great brewed coffee for a reasonable price.

"bad shipper"
I didn't have a chance to use and review the Braun coffeemaker. It arrived in a package that had obviously been damaged in an earlier shipment. The box was smashed and re-taped and then put into an overpack to be shipped to me. The coffeemaker had a hole punched in the reservoir.

"Perfect Brew"
I have bought quite a few expensive coffee makers that were complicated and promised to make a great cup of coffee. And they did. but within a year,..something would go wrong or break. So I finally got fed up and decided to buy a basic hassel free coffee maker. this one makes a great cup of coffee and is simple to use. It has just one button,..the off and on switch,..and it takes #4 paper filters.

What our customer's say!

"Exactly what we wanted", This Braun coffeemaker is exactly what my wife and I wanted, a basic coffeemaker. I don't want a timer and clock because we don't leave it plugged in anyway. We prepare the coffee and water at night and plug it in and turn it on first thing each morning. Good coffee is ready in just a few minutes.

I read a lot of the complaints. Talk about whiners. One complained about no timer (order the Braun with the timer!) and another that it was too hard to fill (this hardly requires skilled eye-had coordination).

If you want a coffeemaker that is well built, dependable, and makes good coffee without spending an arm and a leg, this one will fit the bill.

"Basic Coffee Maker", I am tired of paying a lot of money for coffee makers with all the bells & whistles and then ending up with mediocre warm coffee, also everyone of these coffee makers have not made it through 1 year. I have always liked Braun products & thought I would go back to the basics. This coffee maker will not disappoint you. It delivers a good, hot pot of coffee FAST. Exactly what I want!! It is very easy to use & clean. I can't say enough good things about this coffee maker.

"Nice Coffee Maker", This is a very nice coffee maker. I actually wish I would had purchased the next model up from this one though. I didn't realize until I unpacked it and ran water through it that it does not have the automatic shutoff. It also does not have the permanant gold filter. I will keep the one i purchased for a few years and then I'll upgrade to the next model.

"Good, 180 degree coffee at a reasonable price!", I've been on a quest for a good coffee maker for several months, looking for one that will make coffee hot enough to get the most flavor out of the beans. I've read that 200 degrees is optimal, so my goal was to get as close to that as possible.

We have a Bodum French press which makes good, hot coffee, but I find that coffee made without a paper filter upsets my stomach. So I've been looking for a good drip filter coffee maker, and I've bought and returned three during the last several months.

First was a Capresso thermal. It made good coffee, 180 degrees on my instant-read thermometer, but had a lot of little components to it that we felt would probably break sooner than later, and were also regretting that we had actually shelled out $189 just for a coffee maker! Were able to return it to the online store where it was purchased.

Then I tried an inexpensive Black & Decker with a glass thermal carafe from a local department store--about $18 on sale. The coffee didn't get hot enough--only about 160 degrees. Back it went.

The third try was a Krups thermal carafe coffee maker which cost $99. Third time the charm? Nope. This coffee was still only 160 degrees, and the stainless steel carafe was terrible--clumsy to use and didn't keep the coffee hot for more than one hour. Back it went.

Then I ordered this Braun Aroma Deluxe coffee maker, after once again reading through Amazon's reviews. I had considered getting a Bunn on the basis that the coffee would be hot enough, but some reviewers said you have to use a lot more coffee, and the always-hot-might-evaporate hot water tank wasn't appealing. Sounded like a hassle. And the Bunn is also on the pricey side.

So I ordered a Braun Aroma Deluxe. Reviews looked pretty good. I had by this time given up on the idea of a thermal carafe, believing that any coffee going into a cold steel carafe isn't going to stay hot for long. And you can't see the coffee as it's brewing--didn't like that. I have long used a glass vacuum carafe to store my just-brewed coffee anyway, so I'm going to continue to use it. I usually preheat it with hot tap water while while the coffee is brewing.

But back to the coffee maker. It's simple to use with its lighted on/off switch and swing out filter basket. I fill the reservoir by holding the machine under my cold water faucet and watching the side gauge. Then I pop a filter into the basket, fill with just-ground coffee, set the glass carafe under and flip the switch on. The coffee brews quickly and--this is the most important part--it comes out at 180 degrees, even if I've used cold tap water. The coffee is so good that my husband, the French press user in the family, has begun using it too, especially when he's in a hurry.

This Braun comes with a Britta filter, which we are using even though we have well water and it's presumably not full of dangerous chemicals. I haven't tried a comparison without the filter, but if you don't want to use one there is a part included which you can use to fill that space in the reservoir should you choose not to use one. I also really like the carafe: it's attractive and the handle is really nice to pick up and use. The cone-shaped filter seems to be an advantage because the coffee tastes better than with my old Procter-Silex that has a flat filter--even when I would pour boiling water into it in an attempt to get a higher brewing temperature.
To sum up: very good coffee and a very reasonable price. I'm glad I bought this one and recommend it if you only need a simple, timer-less coffee maker.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Ok, but nothing special", I just bought this coffee maker--for even more than they're selling it on Amazon for!--and it's not horrible, but probably not worth the money. Every cup of coffee I've had so far has had grounds on the bottom of it. The taste is so-so, although it may be the coffee I'm using.

"I would have given it 5 stars but....", My new Braun Coffeemaker is, without doubt, the finest, regardless of price, that I have ever owned. I would have given it 5 stars except the filters only last two months; I'd be happier if Braun would develop a filter cartridge that would only need replacing once a year.
I have owned several other brand coffeemakers in the past, some very good, but they are now sitting in my kitchen cabinet collecting dust, because none of them can compare in quality and ease of use to my Braun. I am extremely satisfied.

"Worth the price and attractive on the countertop", This KF510-BK makes a good cup of coffee which was my main priority in the purchase. The switch of my six year old Braun which made excellent coffee broke and the replacement cost was more than a new model. I found no negatives with the process of preparing the coffee but keep in mind that the gold coffee filter (which my older Braun came with) is not included with this product, but.....fortunately, I was able to use the old one in this model instead of paper filters. I believe gold filter makes a better cup of coffee. I am not using the Brita water filters at all since I am filling the reservoir with filtered water from my refriferator door.

"Save your money", I bought this coffee maker to try and get above the level of cheap coffeemakers. I did not succeed. I paid $50 and could have bought a $20 Mr. Coffee and saved myself a lot of my money. This is not a top of the line coffee maker with bottomline features.... it is a bottomline coffee maker with bottomline features. It has no clock, no timer, no automatic turnoff (It will cook the pot dry if you forget to turn it off. It is hard to fill to the correct level without having water run out the hole in the reservoir at the back. It is hard to pour a cup of coffee without cascades of dribbles. You are supposed to be able to take a cup out as it is brewing. In a word, "Don't". It just keeps drooling coffee all over the heating element. And it takes forever to brew a pot of coffee.

I am not an engineer, just a harried housewife that is trying to get everything together in the morning and get everyone where they need to go. THIS coffeemaker should have never made it to the marketplace.

If you want a basic coffeemaker, get a Mr. Coffee for $20, this is not what you are looking for.

There is nothing "Deluxe" about this coffee maker except the profit they are making off of consumers like me.

"A great no frills coffeemaker", If you are shopping for a no frills coffeemaker that brews good coffee, this Braun Coffeemaker is for you. We have owned it for almost three months and have had no problems whatsoever!

I use the water filter and did a two-month filter change and flushing with vinegar because we have hard water which does tend to mess up the coffeemakers if you don't perform a periodic flushing to get rid of the sediments/calcifications.
