"confident", We purchased the slicer/shredder for our son and his fiancè as a wedding gift, so it has not been 'road-tested', but owning a Kenwood (purchased by Delonghi a year or two ago) kitchen machine ourselves, we are quite confident that it will work as well as expected.

"Does exactly what it's supposed to, very well!", I own the Delonghi DSM7 7-quart Exclusivo mixer sold in the US. (and, no, I don't work for them!) This slicer shredder snaps into place on the back accessory outlet with the spout facing the back of the machine. Yes, that looks kind of weird, but this particular outlet is more powerful than the others and helps this machine keep going with ease.

Also, since it shoots the veggies outside of the area where the bowl normally sits, it's really easy to switch containers and keep slicing or shredding when making a large batch of food. A tall bowl is very useful here, I usually just use the metal bowl that came with the mixer. And, I'm glad I bought a second bowl, too!

This item is easy to clean, the design is simple yet effective. If you need to slice or shred veggies quickly, this is the attachment for you. I was nervous buying it because of the negative review here, but, now I am really glad I got it.

"little disappointed", I love working with my De Longhi machine but this attachment is not the best. It has to be attached on top of the machine and you have to use a different bowl than the one from the machine which causes a lot of "waste" because the distance between the shredder and the bowl is too big.


"Doesn't fit Delonghi DSM7 mixer", I recently bought the Delonghi DSM 7 mixer and the Slicer/Shredder for it. It doesn't fit. Delonghi and the store I bought it from say it is supposed to fit. Delonghi USA also told me, that they have a lot of customer complaining, that it doesn't fit the DSM 7 or 5. They are curently (3/2/05) trying to contact Delonghi Europe to find out what the deal is.
Very frustrating, the mixer is great. Had I known, that I couldn't get a Slicer/Shredder attachment for it, I would have bought the Bosch instead!
