Others say...
"Gets the job done." I use it occasionally. And it gets the job done perfectly every time. Had it for about 2 yrs now. "Waffle Perfection for $8" I picked up this waffle maker when it was a $7.99 Amazon Friday Sale special. I must say, I am very impressed how far my eight dollars went! The machine is simple to use. Plug it in, wait for the green light (signals that the machine is pre-heated and ready) to come on after a few minutes, pour the waffle mix onto the surface, close, and wait for the green light to come back on, open the machine back up, and you are done! Cleanup is pretty easy since the surface is nonstick. The unit sits upright to make it easier to store. The only real complaint would be the unit takes a little while to cool down. I know, it's not much of a complaint, but I had to think of something! :) Overall, 5 out of 5, a kitchen favorite that I'll get tons of use from. "If my daughter can make these! !!......" My non-cooking 22-year-old daughter was so excited when she saw this that she HAD to open the box and make bacon, eggs, sausage and waffles for DINNER!! Anyway, with no help or suggestions from me other than, "Isn't there a book in there that tells you how to do that?" ... within less than 1/2 hour, my baby son and I were enjoying the fruits of her labor. You must understand .. my daughter does NOT cook ... ever ... she doesn't know how, and has never been interested in learning how. If SHE can figure out how to make great-tasting waffles from a mix (we even used the 'just add water' mix) .. ANYONE can ... this was well worth the price, even if it's not made as heavy and durable as I like ... the fun factor is important too. "Great waffle maker for the price" This is a very good product for the price. I was able to get this waffle maker on sale for under $8. Throw that in with another $17 of stuff and its free shipping. What a deal. Anyway, I was looking at this because the waffle stick feature looked very interesting. I have a (now) three year old, and was buying it primarily for her (and of course, for me too). I used it a few times and the waffles came out okay. I think I may have made mistakes because I don't use a measuring cup. I pour the batter on and measure it by eye. And of course, that's a bad thing. Too little and the batter doesn't rise up enough to brown the other side. Too much and it comes spilling out the sides. I learned my lesson when one day I put TOO much, and it just come out and kept spilling out. So much so that it went down the back of the machine and shorted out the heating elements. I had to disassemble the entire thing to clean it up and get it back in working order. It did give me the chance to see how it was put together. It's very simple, so I can't see why any other machine like this could cost over $50. At least, I don't see any need to buy any other machine that would cost a lot more. So, now I measure carefully and get good waffles. The sticks appeal to my 3 year old daughter, who can hold the stick and eat away just fine. And I like it too for the bite size snacking capability. The only thing I don't like is that unforgiving nature of the waffle maker. I suppose all waffle makers are alike in that if you don't put the right amount of batter in, you don't get good waffles. If they would add some sort of overflow protection, that would make this waffle maker perfect. Highly recommended. "It is really 5 stars" I'm only writing 2 stars to be put with the two star rater Excellent job hamilton people The other 2 star writer...if it is taking up space then throw it out or try a differant recipe yours could just stink...try the Aunt Jamima *spelling error?* Pancake mix and on the back it says WAFFLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for you time dear reader

Hamilton Beach Waffle Stix Waffle Maker
Why I buy this one ? - Stix waffle maker bakes 6 sticks or 2 whole waffles - Nonstick grid allow easy cleanup - Indicator lights make cooking easy - Stands upright for compact storage - Recipes included It's better to buy this one too...
What our customer's say! "Good Waffle Maker", Does what its intended for. Working flawlessly since more than a year. Nice product for price. "Great waffle maker", But unfortunately gave it away. Can't handle the smell of waffles cooking. But it did a great job. "Hamilton Beach Waffle Stick Maker - Not bad", This does a good job. It is small though and requires many cooking cycles if cooking enough for a family. But the price was right! Good to have on hand to have something different in the morning for breakfast. "Hamilton Beach Waffle Stix Waffle Maker", Great item. The kids love it. The only down fall is the cleaning up. It is hard to get all the little areas clean. Thats why I gave it a 4 stars. It makes very good waffles. "I wouldn't buy it again", I bought it and used it once. That one time cleanup was a real pain. I wouldn't buy this again. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Great waffler..", Easy to use, crisp on the outside, tender on inside. Some of the recipes in the booklet are quite tasty, esp. the whole-grain waffle, not heavy at all. The waffles are not as thick as Belgian waffles, but plenty thick enough to fill up with goodies to flavor your waffle. I do use nonstick spray before placing batter in even though it has a nonstick finish to make sure clean up is easy. "Hamilton Beach Waffle Stix Maker", product works well, a bit difficult to determine correct amount of mix - perhaps it's just me? I have similar problems with most waffle makers! Great booklet accompanies this waffle maker with recepies and good ideas for different types of waffles. "Works great!", Makes great waffles. No problem with sticking, easy to use. High praises for Amazon customer service. First one was damaged in shipping, they replaced at no cost very promptly. Thanks Amazon! I'm always pleased with products and service. "Very good product", I bought this to show the great-grandsons that waffles come from somewhere other than the toaster. I was very impressed. No sticking, crisp waffles, done just right. I will definitely use this many times. "Gimmicky? Actually, surprisingly useful", We usually make Belgian style waffles, those deep, corrugated cakes that are, if you don't watch yourself, pretty high in fat and carbs. But hey, life is short. I actually did once eat waffles in Belgium and they were served with a pile of whipped cream that hit my forehead. I was twenty years old, skinny and bulletproof. Indulging in such fare these days would send me to the cardiac unit followed by a stint in the bariatric surgery unit. The Belgian style waffles, even one half, are too big for my appetite. The sticks are nicely sized and you can do fun stuff like try adding cornmeal to batter and making a more or less corn waffle. We also tried a wheat-free mix that worked up surprisingly well here. The trick is to separate your eggs (yeah, I know, too much work) and then beat the whites into a stiff foam (ok, stop glaring at me, use an electric whisk and git'er done.) The egg white foam makes the waffle sticks light and fluffy and crisp. I cut down on the FAT by using mix to which you add oil and I just don't add as much. And I use light olive, which has no taste and is better for you. You can make a relatively decent light supper of waffle sticks, cream cheese (fat free or whatever) and apple butter. Another popular way around our place is to serve them with cherry topping (thickened red sour pitted cherries with cornstarch and sugar to taste) and of course, whipped cream. This is a great brunch idea and very elegant with the waffle sticks. The teflon coating is excellent, even with less oil in the batter I get good release. I do brush the iron with a bit of oil, but I am paranoid in that way. The iron is simple, no temperature control, no flip plates so you can't do grilled cheese the way Mom did by turning over the waffle plates. For the price, however, this is fine and everyone seems to enjoy the sticks. More versatile than a traditional Belgian waffler. Big thumbs up. ![]() |
