"Great Vacuum Dont know what all the negative fuss is about!", Well i dont know what all the negative fuss is about on this vacuum cleaner. We had ours for 5 years, after its wood brush broke and we tried to find a replacement part and they quit making that vacuum so we cant find it now.
But other then that. The person who said the suction sucked clearly didnt give the vacuum a chance. If the suction gets stuck then take a broom handle and go outside and stick it through the hose, that is usually where it is clogged. Or right underneath, ours barely got clogged unless we moved to a new house and had to vacuum all the new carpet fibers and beleive me it gets all that new carpet fibers, *thats a good thing*. They said that they just moved into a new house so im not surprised that the vacuum got clogged.
The belts used to be able to find very easily just go to sharkvac.com. They are right there, Anyone know how to read a manual? It says it right there.
The only complaint that I have with this vacuum is the fact that its brush roller breaks way to easily. This is the second time we had to replace it. And now we have to get a new vacuum because the company doesnt make it anymore. You think they would keep replacement parts for all vacuums that they sell in the last 10 years on thier site.
But we are still looking for a shark. Because i have never had a vacuum with that much suction power as this one! Its great! And you will be amazed at what it picks up. Stuff you dont even see, its there though!
But the four stars is because of the replacement part issue on the brush roller. The roller cant take a lot of back and forth motion (yu have to go really fast to make it burn out though), and burns out.

"Do not buy this vacuum! It's a piece of junk!", We got this vacuum as a gift at our wedding shower. I didn't know much about vacuums when I did my registry online and so I added this one to my registry. We had this vacuum for a year (used it about once a month if that) and then when we bought our house we started to need it more but it decided to stop working. Hubby took it apart because there was no suction and couldn't find anything wrong with it. He put it back together and still no suction. Right now it's sitting in my basement since it's practically new but soon it'll be going to the dump. Very hard to clean. Filter is ALWAYS clogged. Basically, this is a piece of junk!!!!

"Do NOT buy this vacuum", I bought this vacuum at Best Buy and after TWO uses it became useless: no suction, just blows dust around. Filter clogs in a heartbeat, messy to empty, and canister will not fit back in correctly.

Don't waste your time with this product.

"BELT REPLACEMENT", I haven't had any problems with my machine. Anything you purchase you have to take care of in order for it to last. I clean my filter and even my rotary duster on a regular basis. Recently the belt broke and I had a hard time finding the replacement, BUT that was only because I didn't write down my model number! "Never had a problem", We bought this vaccum for my mother about 2 years ago. At the time she lived in the country on a working farm and it worked amazingly well. She now lives in town and it's still working great. It's never clogged, the belt broke once and we replaced it with another model's as the belts are hard to find, and it's back up and running.
We have never had a problem with this machine, infact once a month I borrow it to do a deep clean in my house that my bissell doesn't.

"Beltss", Vacuum worked well until the belt broke. After a few hours on the net, I finally found the shark website to order more. If you haven't read the other reviews for this model, you can't buy these belts in any stores. Just though I'd share the web address for anyone looking for belts:

"This "vacuum" is useless", Bought at Best Buy, belt broke, went back to get more, they no longer sell the model OR the belts...found them ONCE, broke again, cannot find more belts. They break constantly and no one carries this model. DO NOT BUY IT!!!!

"belts for this vacuum", i had a tough time getting belts for this vacuum until i compaired the belt with the others at our neighborhood vacuum parts store. I found the belt that fits this shark spectra also fits a panisonic model which can be found at any local retailer that sells vacuums. The stock number for the panasonic vac belts is MC-210B TYPE UB. It's a bit of a stretch (not much) but it does work and at first you will smell a slight burning but it goes away after just a moment. It works fine. As for the filter clogging up, i use compressed air out in my garage and it works just fine. Don't make the mistake i made by washing the filter with water, you will eventually have to throw it away and buy another (15 BUCKS). good luck.

"Not the best vaccum I've ever Owned", I've owned this vacuum since April of 2003, and since then I have had problems with it.These have included:

1)From the start, the HEPA filter has not been securly attached to the canister and continues to fall out of place (at least once every time I vacuum)
2) The hoses clog easily and need to be cleaned out on a monthly basis.
3) The roller piece underneath the vacuum head collects string and carpet pieces, which get attached to the roller and become difficult to remove.

"Vacuum Sucks---I WISH!!", I purchased this vacuum a little over a year ago and am very disappointed to say the least. I have four children and need a good quality vacuum to keep up with them. I had a Eureka Boss for about ten years and when it was time top replace it I decided on a bagless...which is also important with four children...this vacuum not only has no suction but the automatic height adjustment doesn't adjust to anything, the filter plugs contantly, after about five minuites of vacuuming, and now my belt is broken and can't seem to be able to replace it. I purchased this particular model because Canadian Tire stands behind it,according to the television ads, and they advertised it as being 'good quality'. It was also shown as NEW PRODUCT when I bought it. I am not very impressed with having to replace it...my advice, stick to the quality you know, like Hoover or Eureka. Don't get suckered in just because 'they' say it's good.
