"Pan sticks" Inexpensive. Nice looking. Convenient size. Pan sticks, however, and that is the reason for 3 stars. Perhaps it is me, but on my glass-top stove, the pan stuck when I tried simple egg-frying. Not sure what I could do differently - pretty simple operation. I have the 14" (great size) and it is beginning to stick too. I have the covered 10" and it is an excellent pan and very nice looking and, for some reason, does not stick. "8 inch skillet" Beautiful skillet, cleans well, heats quickly and evenly. It is perfect for omelets. The surface cleans nicely. I was tired of non-stick surfaces scratching and needing to be replaced. I am going to purchase more of the Cuisinart stainless products. "large skillet" Beautiful skillet! I purchased this but returned it because it was just too big for my stove. I ordered the 12 inch one instead because these are beautiful, not too heavy, heat evenly and clean up like new. It has tall enough sides. If I had a stove with a little larger heating element I would have kept this size. "Cuisinart chef's 14 inch open skillet" Bought as a gift. I thought the bottom would be heavier, but was satisfied with purchase and promptness in receiving it. Receiver of gift was very satisfied. "Nice little pan" I love the Chef's Classic line of cookware! This is a great little pan for smaller portions of food. I use the 12-inch everyday pan for most of my cooking, but this one comes out for eggs or side dishes. I like using it for smaller jobs. Make sure you use enough fat, keep the temperature low, and keep a can of barkeeper's friend handy for easy cleaning.

What our customer's say! "Great for an amateur", This is a great skillet for an amateur cook. I'm a student who tries to find time to cook for myself and buying a skillet for $40 has made me more willing to throw a steak into the oven or make grilled cheese sandwiches to go with fresh pasta on a cold Fall evening. If you let the pan soak after cooking, things come right off with a sponge. This pan is really everything that I could ask for. The 10'' is a perfect size to cook almost anything in a stainless steel pan. I'll likely buy a Cuisinart 12'' non-stick for fried rice and the like. My only complaint about the pan is that the packaging is extremely ineffective at preventing damage to the pan. Amazon tried to protect the box with more than enough air packs but I noticed one pinky sized dent in the pan. I'm unwilling to return it, however, as I've heard that Amazon will ban users with too many returns and this was more cosmetic than functional damage. After I made my first steak with plastic utensils, however, I noticed two large dents/scratches near the first one. I can't return it now that it's been used and I'm not sure how Cuisinart's policy relates to this type of damage. Do yourself a favor and check your pans extremely carefully when they first arrive. "Cuisinart Chef's Classic Skillet", Good quality for the special price. If you want it to be non-stick, do not use high heat. "fantastic product-i recommend!", I love the Cuisinart Classic Stainless steel 12 inch open skillet. I have been using it almost daily since it was delivered. GREAT pan. It heats food up much quicker than with an ordinary skillet. I used to have the 10 inch skillets and the 12 inch really makes a difference. More room in the pan and it makes cooking alot easier! The pan is very easy to clean. I love the added feature of the "helper handle". The pan is very well made! The only thing is, you need to use a silicone or teflon coated spatula or spoon , otherwise it will scratch the skillet. You just have to read the instructions about it before using. I have had no problem with it. I definitely recommend it! "Good pan for the money", I needed a larger skillet and boy, is this pan big! It actually covers the 11 inch burner on my new range! It gives you plenty of room to cook in. It is not as thick as some other pans and you have to watch it carefully to make sure the food doesn't burn. It is also hard to store due to its size. But the price ($39.99) on Amazon.com makes it a great value! "not same quality as 12" ", Like most of this line, the 12" version of this pan is an excellent pan and value, and seldom leaves my range top. The 14" however is a disappointment because its material/construction is not nearly as heavy-duty. Notably, unlike the 12" pan the 14" is NOT stamped "18/10". Another telltale is that the 14" weighs only 4 oz. more than the 12". Result: relatively lower thermal mass, less even heat distribution and retention, more hot spots and burning. In fairness, the larger diameter will put the much thinner sides farther away from most ranges flame, but I wish they'd made the base at least as heavy duty- as the 12". Caveat emptor! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Disapointed", I am one of those crying about the pan sticking. I have tried all types of oils and sprays and can't do something so simple as fry an egg with this pan or any of the 3 I have. It is impossible to flip an egg without breaking the yolk because it sticks. The larger dome covered pan I have was used one time to fry burgers and now it is discolored. I would not recommend this to anyone and would love to get rid of mine. Unfortunately I threw away the boxes assuming these were quality. "Not nearly as good as they should be", I was initially very pleased, the first time I saw this line of pans. They had all the features I was looking for, and at a reasonable price (as opposed to the price gouging of All-Clad, Calphalon, etc...). But then I bought one and carefully made my inspection of it. To make a long story short, I went through FOUR of these skillets, and absolutely none of them made the grade. I'm not talking about being nitpicky about a tiny scratch somewhere. Two of the four pans had moderate corrosion pitting and black spots on the handles. One of them had damaged metal around the lip of the pan. And worst of all - three out of four of them were CRACKED at the weld joints at the base of the handle, on one of the two forks where they meet the plate that's riveted to the pan itself. I don't know about you, but a good price isn't worth the possibility of third degree burns down the entire front of my body on the day those weld joints give way completely. These Cuisinart pans fall under the category of things that *look* really good for the price, but whose actual quality is far less than it appears. Maybe some of you have gotten very lucky in the batch of pans you received - and if I had gotten one bad pan, I could have chalked it up to a lemon - after all, everyone has them from time to time. But FOUR pans being bad? With THREE of them having a serious defect in the structural integrity? Sorry - they lost me as a customer of their entire brand, and I would caution others not to be blinded by the shiny looks of a poorly made pan. "Too small and shallow", The product is great. I agree to most of the positive reviews. Just that its too small and shallow. I thought I would be able to cook indian vegetables for two in this skillet. Unfortunately, the contents would splash and spill out of this cookware. Someone mentioned that the inside of the 8' skillet is only 6.5' -- and I totally agree to that. "Good skillet for the money", First off, anyone who is whining about it not being "non-stick" needs to understand that this isn't a teflon pan -- it's stainless steel and needs to be treated like it. You have to use some sort of oil during cooking, be it butter, olive oil, canola, etc. and let it get pretty warm before adding your food. It's disappointing that the aluminum core doesn't extend further up from the base, but at this price you can't expect it to. It distributes heat great, and has cooked everything to perfection. Highly recommended, one star penalty for not having the aluminum extend further. "I've been had", Ahhh! I think I've been had. Bought this on eBay and it burns easily. Does not wash easily either. I switched to good quality stainless steel pans some years ago and have been phasing out my non-stick pans. I found that it is really important to purchase only high quality stainless steel and Cuisinart Classic is at the bottom end of that class. I have several good Cuisinart pans but this one is not of the same quality. It developed a discoloration on the edges at the first use that won't scrub off. Each time I fry an egg, I have to scrub long and hard to get it clean. I use a plastic, non-scratch scrubber. This was not a good purchase. ![]() |
