"DEFECTIVE"
THE TUBE THAT TAKES THE WATER UP THROUGH THE COFFEE GROUNDS DOES NOT FIT INTO THE BOTTOM HOLE OF THE POT, CONSEQUENTLY WITHOUT THAT CONNECTION, THE COFFEE CANNOT BREW.

"Farberware FCP240 Electric Percolator"
This "coffee pot" makes outstanding coffee, especially if one roasts and grinds at home (which I do). The smaller size is perfect for 4 cups, so you can drink some and then take some on the road (to wherever you are going that day). Truly a great product.

"not up to the mark"
I was dissappointed with this product. I prefer the traditional stove top ones to this and it consumes 3 times more coffree powder than the traditional ones but gives a very light decauction. Although the process is quick, the decauction is not stronger , like in the stove top ones, which really make good coffee. Also i feel the price is too high given its performance, although it's very neat looking and all..i sent back in no time and amazon was very responsive as usual...I'm currently using a stove top one from farberware and that works best..

""Old Faithful" "
The Farberware percolator works great, it makes good coffee and does not require paper filters so I am always ready to make good coffee and clean-up is easy. This is the first time I ever used Amazon to buy anything, But I must say the service was quick and had good follow up, the price was also lower than my local store. KWH.

"helped me cut the coffee habit"
I bought this percolator as a small coffeemaker for the office. After tasting my mother-in-law's perc coffee, I thought I couldn't go wrong. Well what can I say, I really don't drink coffee at work any more. The coffee that comes out of this thing is that bad!

First, let me discuss Faberware's claim of one cup per minute. Yes, it brews coffee extremely quickly. However, it accomplishes this by putting the full heating force of its 1000 watt heating element on one small cup of water. This is enough to make the water boil almost instantly and stay boiling-lava hot for 15-20 minutes. So if you would like a cup of coffee in a minute I guess you should look to instant coffee, or prepare to lose your tongue.

This amount of heat is also enough to completely obliterate any flavor that was in the grounds and make your coffee taste and smell like soot. I have tried everything from cheap coffee to my imported Italian roast from Whole Foods, and they all taste terrible. It gets so hot that it actually melts the coffee grounds, which come out of this thing as a steaming mushy paste. Now I like my coffee black, and I do truly enjoy all kinds of coffee (Italian, Greek, arabian, french), so the grounds in the coffee don't bother me, but I have honestly never had coffee with such a *horrible* flavor. So I guess until they make a cheap plug-in espresso maker, it's back to drip for me!!

What our customer's say!

"Love my little perker", I gave up on drip coffee makers because I like really HOT coffee -- cannot be TOO hot! This is perfect for using daily. It makes great hot coffee surprisingly quickly. The two things I would point out is [1] don't make more than you will drink within just a few minutes because the coffee becomes burned tasting within about 10 minutes, and [2] this little guy pulls 1000 watts -- that's a lot of electricity. For this reason I make enought for two mugs and unplug it after is stops perking. This keeps the second mugful from tasting old and also saves on power.

I do recommend this product -- just wish they were still made in the USA. I paid $19.99 for mine at Macy's one day sale with a $10 coupon. Don't pay more than $30. I noticed people on eBay paying up to $50 for this same unit.

Enjoy!!!

"Stay away", The problem with this percolator is the lack of a timer. It doesn't perk long enough to make good coffee. I tried putting four times the normal amount of coffee in and it was still too weak. They should have spent the extra money and put a variable timer on it.
How bad is the coffee? Real bad, worse than Tim Hortons. Really.

"The Perfect Compact", I've jumped around over the years with different types of coffeemakers. I purchased this little Farberware 3 years ago when I tired of my Bunn with thermal carafe not keeping the coffee hot very long. I'd had one of the electronic Farberware percolators, the ones that detach from the base and have a timer--bad luck with that one.

I can't take this little jewel to the table like a thermal carafe, but the coffee comes very quickly, and two rounded scoops works every time. Sometimes I use the almost-free little paper filters, but usually I don't. I started with perked coffee 30+ years ago and I still love it. This little pot has made at least one pot daily for those three years without incident. I've found that using a little dishwashing powder cleans the inside with a perk cycle better than any of the other cleaners I've tried. The pot looks virtually new. I do miss the little glass knob at the top that one can watch the perking happen, but it's so fast with this pot there isn't much watching! I also take this on the road when I travel, as it works much faster and better than those nasty little hotel room pots. I live alone and usually one of these pots will make all I need for the day. Plus, for shorter trips it's a lot, lot cheaper than buying coffee on the road!

"LOW PRICE BUT LAST ONLY 18 MONTHS UNTIL COMPLETELY DEAD", Farberware FCP240 Electric Percolator STARTED TO FAIL AFTER 13-14 MONTHS
AND COMPLETELY DIED AT THE BEGINNING OF MAY.

"not made like they used to be", Bought this to replace a 30 yr old farberware perc given to me by my mom, and less than a year later it's ready for the trash heap. The knob broke off (thanks to a cheap weld rather than a screw), the label is peeling, and overall the fit and finish is made-in-china cheap. In other words, not made like they used to be. I'm buying a vintage made-in-usa farberware (with real glass knob) off of e-bay and throwing this one away as soon as it arrives.

"Great Percolator", This is a great little percolator. It is just the right size for morning coffee for just the two of us! It perks really good, hot coffee, quickly. I love it! I put it on an automatic timer and coffee is ready for us first thing in the morning!

"Good coffee maker", This is a great little coffee maker, perfect for a person who just wants a cup or two before heading off to work. It is fast and produces very hot coffee. My only compaint would be the spout can be a little messy if you are in a hurry to pour. Otherwise, I am very happy with it.

"Percolator", Nothing like a hot pot of freshly brewed coffee in the mornings, and this makes it happen. Starts perking as soon as it's plugged in. Works wonderfully.

"farberware 4 cup electric percolator", The electric cord is now 3 pronged and thicker; a great improvement.
I've only used farberware electric percolators and found them to be very reliable. They make an excellent pot of coffee, the coffee stays very hot and the percolator lasts for years and years.

"Faberware Is Still The Best", Faberware makes the best percolators. This small unit is perfect for 2-6 cups and makes the same quality cup of coffee as thier 50 cup units. Perculated coffee is much better tasting than coffe from the more popular drip coffee makers and is just as fast. It also looks cool on the kitchen counter!
