Others say...

"Very convenient"
I usually keep these on the front of the stove. I love the red pepper design. Would like to get this pattern in oven mitts.

"Cheerful but Thin."
Since this is marketed by Lodge, I expected something more substantial - thicker and heavier for hefting cast iron cookware. However, it's cheerful and fits the handles well. Serves as a good reminder to NOT pick up the hot pan without a potholder.

"Great Hot Handles!"
These definitely work better than any old pot holder... plus, that they slide on the handle makes it even better. Note though, not to leave them on the handle on the small pans (esp. on a gas stove) as I think I almost caught one on fire just because it was too close to the flame on the small frying pan.

"Charred first time I tried them"
These are very attractive little "mittens" for your cast iron handles. I like how they look, but they are very thin and charred the first time I tried them.

I believe they would work for cases where the pan is not on the stove, and is being used on the table to serve from. When they are used with a pan that is actively being heated, they just can't handle the heat.

"Does exactly what it's supposed to do"
You can put these hot handlers on virtually any pot, pan, or skillet and they will insulate well. The fact that they come in a pack of two is great for any chefs who either tend to lose things or tend to make things dirty quickly.

These handlers seem to be well-manufactured and built to last. For the price and combined with whatever oven mitt you use at home, they are perfect. Just don't forget to keep them out of the oven, if you put your skillet and cover in there.

What our customer's say!

"A Must-have if you own cast iron skillets", These handle-cover pot holders are a must-have item if you use cast iron cookware. It really prevents burns and reduces the risk of "forgetting' and grabbing hold of the hot handle. You can leave them on while cooking (as long as the handle is not too close to the flame. Anyone who uses cast iron should also have these handle covers.

"Not as described", These hot handle holders work well, but they are a lot smaller than described. Mine is only 5 3/4 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide...a lot smaller than I expected.

"A bit small", These work well for your kitchen pots and pans that do not have an insulating handle.

"Perfect for the job intended!", Wonderful kitchen tool. Perfect size for the job. A must-have for when oven searing in cast iron frying pans or griddles that have a single handle. Great protection for your hands!

"Handy Little Things", These brightly decorated handle holders slip over the handle easily and stay put.
Cooking with a cast iron skillet and not burning your hand is a bonus :)
We liked them so much we ordered a set for some friends...

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Fire Hazard! Beware!!", While these work well to protect your hand from burns, DO NOT leave them on the pan while cooking on a gas stove. They have caught fire more than once! I now put them on only when I need to pick up the pan and only after the stove is off.

"safe and easy", It helps me to grip the handle of pan easily and safely. good device!

"I LOVE these handle holders!", I only use cast iron on a gas stove and I LOVE this product because it solved the ONLY problem I had with my pans...those hot handles. In case you're getting worried about these being a fire hazard (as other reviews claim) they really aren't UNLESS you leave them on when you place the pan under your broiler! EEEK! I did this and I deserve lots of "boos" for my absent-mindedness! Other than that, if you have your flame up to a normal amount (the flames really shouldn't be shooting up the sides of the pan anyway!) there is no way you'll burn your holders. I've been using mine for four years now (on my stove with blasting BTUs!) and other than my broiler incident, I've been absolutely delighted!

Note: Another benefit besides these holders "being there" when you need them: The design is actually much safer than a pot holder or a clumsy mitt because pot holders tend to drag way closer to the source of the flame and the mitts occasionally made me loose my grip due to their heft.

"It works well with my Lodge skillet", I use it for my Lodge skillet. It fits the skillet well. I do not use kitchen towel to wrap the handle of the skillet anymore.

"Fire starters?", Cute and functional! They certainly beat the old potholder I had wrapped around the handle of our beloved cast iron pan until I finally found these. ;) But my boyfriend keeps catching them on fire -- and not because he lacks experience at the stove. He's a far better cook than I am. I think he's just got the flame too high on the gas burners, but perhaps it's worth noting.
