Others say...

"This Lid is Necessary."
I love the lid that goes with my Lodge Logic 10-1/4-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet. It is obvious that many other people love their Lodge cookware too. Ever since Joseph Lodge started making cast iron cookware in the 1800's --the company goes back to 1896 -- people have been loving it and passing it down from one generation to the next.

If we decide to get a 3-quart chicken fryer or 5-quart Dutch oven, this lid will work fine for them too. The self-basting spikes keep the lid fitting snugly.

It came preseasoned and ready to use. We hand wash it and the skillet. We don't submerge it in water for long periods. Instead of draining it, we dry it with a dish towel immediately. The we spray it lightly with Pam(PAM-Original No Stick Cooking Spray, 3/8oz Cans) or rub it with an oil saturated paper towel. When we store it we place a folded paper towel between the lid and the utensil to allow air to circulate.

We try to remember not to shock it and the skillet by placing cold water in the hot pan.

I hope you find this review helpful.

"Glad I found a lid!"
I've had the skillet forever and used another lid from my aluminum pan that really didn't fit. This fits great and even has knobs underneath the lid for braising.

"Logic lid"
The cast iron lid is definitely essential when cooking and cleans rather easily with steel wool (non-soapy). Great product!

"Does the job..."
Fits Lodge 10 1/4 inch pan very well. Very helpful for omelets since it steams eggs for quicker cooking throughout and therefore minimizes browning. Also helps to contain splattering of grease etc.

"Spare camp oven lid"
This lid fits perfectly on my 10" Lodge camp dutch oven. I'll use it when slow cooking and not needing to put the charcoal on the lid. The drip dots under the lid are suppose to help keep the juices in.

What our customer's say!

"10 1/4" Lodge Cast Iron Lid", I have the 10 1/4" lid. While this lid does not come with the "flanges" to cover the side spouts as described (it comes as shown in the picture), it is a great addition to my cast iron cookware and I now want the 12" lid for my 12" skillet. There is enough of a lip that the side spouts are pretty well covered (some steam escapes). The spikes on the lid seem to be helpful and aren't too much trouble in cleaning in my opinion.

A tip: If you are looking for a lid for your skillet and have a need for a dutch oven, you can get both by ordering one of the 5 or 7 quart dutch ovens. I believe the 5 qt. dutch oven has a 10 1/4" lid and the 7 qt. dutch oven has the 12" lid. This is more economical than buying a lid by itself (if you have need for or will use a dutch oven).

"Just what I needed!", My ancient dutch oven originally came with a glass lid, which was broken many years ago during a move... I'd never gotten around to replacing it, and so rarely found uses for the dutch oven.

The Lodge lid fits my "other brand" pot perfectly, and has given a nearly-forgotten utensil a new lease on life.

"Get your cover and a Dutch Oven on the cheap", I looked at it like this:
The 5 Qt. Dutch Oven cover fits the 10 1/4" skillet.
The 10 1/4" cover is $16.99
The 5 Qt. Dutch Oven is $26.99
If I subtract what I'd spend for the 10 1/4"cover, the D.O. Only costs $10.00 more. That's a big hunk of iron for a mere $10.00.
I did the same thing by buying the 7 Qt. D.O. with Spiral Handle because the cover fits my 12" skillet.
Also, I found a brush that works very well to clean the pans and lids Power Tip Dish & Glass Brush

"Those juicer spikes really do work!", I'd just thought I'd chime in and confirm that the much acclaimed juice spikes built into this solid lid really does keep the food being cooked (I use it mostly for meat) juicy and tender by dripping the moisture evenly back into the food.

"Gotta have the lid!", This fits with the Lodge 10-1/4 inch cast-Iron skillet perfectly. If you're getting (or have the skillet) it only makes sense to have the matching lid. That said - this lid is almost as heavy as the pot itself... so beware. :)

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Nice lid", My daughter wanted a cast iron skillet for Christmas and I thought it would be nice to throw in the lid as well. Fast service and nice looking item.

"Its a LODGE...........Ya cant go wrong!!!", When you use a cast iron lid on your cast iron skillet you kinda have a mini dutch oven.
I have a lid for every cast iron skillet we have and wouldnt be without one.

"Good product", I had forgotten to order a lid for the pan I purchased last Dec. Amazon had the Logic lid that matched my pan. High quality as with the pan itself, and the lid also fits other items in the Logic line. Would recommend Logic products to anyone looking for a high quality cast iron item.

"Must-have", If you've got the skillet, you've got to have the lid. The spikes on the inside do a great job of keeping the food extra moist. Love it.

"Good addition to the skillet", I like this lid, it allows to keep the moisture in as well as the flavors. I did not give 5 stars because of its weight: it is very heavy!
