"Disappointed" I received this product and still can't figure out how to use it..no instructions and no info on how to return it. I am disgusted and isappointed. "Give Away" Product is bulky and takes up too much space. I was under the impression that the product opened cans as well as jars. I was wrong. It has already been passed to two other people who don't want it. "Don't you think that is overkill?" That is what my husband said when he first saw the jar opener. He told me that he would open any jar I needed open. (I need it because my thumb joint has an injury.) You already know what is coming. I handed him a jar and after struggling with it for a while, he stuffed it in and let electrical power have its way with the lid. If I have a complaint it would be the minor one that if I don't push the release button just right, it sticks. It does not stay stuck and when I press it again, it releases. This opener is my one countertop appliance. If you need it, you will really appreciate it. "Great product, but takes up a lot of counterspace" This works really well for someone with limited hand strength and on a variety of jar widths. However, it takes up a lot of counterspace & a undermounted version would be handier. "great product" This jar opener is a wonder! It's actually fun to use. I at first purchased the $20 kind that works automatically by itself - but it broke the second time I used it! This Black & Decker JW200 Lids Off Opener is wonderful for those of us weak individuals who have so much trouble with jars!

What our customer's say! "great idea!", My grandmother is 77 years old & has to get my granfather to open jars for her all the time. She recieved this as a gift last week & loves it. We didn't even read the directions, just plugged it in & started using it & it worked great! Very simple to understand, & easy to use, it works on a wide range of jar sizes. It closes down so it fits on the counter nicely. I read some reviews saying it took up too much counter space but I don't agree. It's not that big & much easier to use than an under the counter mounted version. I'm purchasing another one for my other grandmother who lives alone. This is a great gift idea for anyone who is elderly or frail. "This thing is a lifesaver", We bought the jar opener for my mother-in-law several years ago. It recently broke and she was practically in a state of panic. She's 92 years old and this jar opened "is a real life saver". I highly recommend it -- it works! Read this reviews before You buy... "Arthritis victim's friend", This product is a godsend for people with weak hands. It opens all kind of jars with a press of a button. "Too big and stopped working", This went back !!! It is very big and is quite complicated to use .. difficult to get jars in and out. Apart from this, it went back because it stopped working when we tried to open a tight jar ... the motor ran but nothing happened. "Does what it says!", Bought it for my 90 year old mother with arthritis (slight) and loss of strength in her hands. Claussen pickle jars, Newman's spaghetti sauce, olive jars, marinated artichoke heart's, etc. ..... works like a charm. I recommend it for anyone, but especially for the elderly who might have arthritis or natural loss of strength. It does take a little extra counter space (similar to a coffee maker) but the trade off was worth it for MY mother. "B&D Jar Opener", Works well for standard size jars, if you purchase restaurant size you cannot fit jar into machine " Electric Jar Opener", Item arrived promptly in good shape and works as it's supposed to. It actually opened a jar I couldn't. It struggled, but did the job. Ordering through Amazon is a pleasure. It's easy, accurate and prompt. I will continue to use Amazon for purchases. |
