"Wonderful choice" It is an excellent element at the moment of looking for variety in the kitchen(cuisine), new and healthy alternatives at the moment of cooking. It is great...100 % recommended. "Rival Stainless Steel Fondue Maker" Nice set, mine steams to heat up too fast, for example- my fondue begins to BOIL on warm -which ruins your fondue, so I keep it below warm- then it's hard to get it warm enough. The set does have a small book with recipes, I was hoping for more recipes that are standard for this set. Extension cord is very short- need to be close to an outlet. I think I'll just keep trying. It's frustrating when you spend over $20 on cheese and it doesn't work out with company on the way over to your house. "Impressive at cooking meat!" I was at first worried that this fondue pot might not get hot enough for oil fondues, but I tried it out, and it is great! The instruction booklet recommends vegetable oil, but I used peanut oil, which smells amazing when heated. It really is very easy to clean and the temperature dial is nice because it allows you to choose the temperature, not just low/med/high. I haven't yet tried cheese or chocolate, but I figure they should be much easier. "good fondue set, but...." having a problem with cheese burning on the bottom. It seems to be not-- non stick. I know usually stainless steel is not, but i cant find a way to make it not stick! makes it really hard to clean...i have a burnt bottom one, sitting in my cabinet i dont know what to do with now! "Bought two as replacements for my old Rival Fondue pots..." ... And I had those for 15 and 20 years. Last year one finally stopped getting as hot as it used to (and as hot as the other one), so I bought two at Target today. They have a $24.99 special this week and you get a $5 gift card too. What a deal! We also have fondue for Christmas Eve... a great tradition that everyone loves, and god forbid I suggest we have something else! It's nice to have several pots so that the transition from cheese to broth/oil to chocolate is simpler.

What our customer's say! "A Good Pot", We used this fondue pot for beef/chicken fondue a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Got the oil to temp in good time. I like the shallow, wide design of the pot compared to my old standard deep, sterno-driven pot. I just wish the Rival had a lid to go with it. Read this reviews before You buy... "One major drawback", It's a Fondue pot, and it's very good at being a fondue pot. The only issue I have with it is the cord. The "breakaway" portion of the cord is not held particularly well by the magnet, and it disconnected twice through normal use. The other cord issue is length. If the cord on this is 36 inches long, I would be very surprised. Unless you have an outlet right at your table, this will be a very frustrating thing to use, and all the warnings say not to use any kind of extension cord with it. But as far as it heating oil for fondue.. it works great in that arena. "Love this fondue pot!", I just got this item on Aug 10-07 and have used it about 4 times already. The cord is completely removable which makes it very practical/easy to clean up. Thus far I've made cheese & chocolate fondue and it's worked perfectly! The cord is REALLY short but as long as you get an extension cord it's ok. Would definitely recommend this item! "Nice fondue pot", I have had a good many fondue pots over the years and think this is really pretty good. I think it gets quite hot. We mostly do oil oriented fondues, meat, shrimp, chicken and this really sizzles. I have never had a problem with not enough heat. I do not care for the cord however.It does come off rather easily and I find that annoying. "Awesome!", I am very happy with mine. My fondue came out perfect! Very easy to clean. I love the adjustable heat & temperature setting. I bought two. "Excellent purchase", Got fondue pot Friday for my birthday and all we ate was fondue all weekend. Heated chocolate quickly and kept it just right and same with cheeses. We also used it to cook meet in oil and it worked great. I am looking forward to some broth for the meat this weekend and more cheese and chocolate. Most fun Ive ever had eating. |
