"Great Product"
Did I get a deal! I just found this cleaner at my local resale store and I paid 10.00 for it!....I love it....When I bought it, it looked like it was used maybe 1 time, it even had the extra new pad attached in a baggie to the cleaner. It had a bit of water left in it, so I dumped that, but when I filled it up, it smelled like soap and was bubbley, so whoever used it the first time, must have used some type of cleaner with it! However, it is good now, and I love it...Bissell really should bring this one back.

"replacement"
Why did BISSEL discontinue this item? it performed as advertised- only one of such items in the consumer use--perhaps that is the problem----mine fell and broke at neck----no replacements have been found to date!!!!!!
OK WHAT DO WE DO NOW FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR TILE AND HARD WOOD FLOORS?????

"Why did Bissell stop making this, why?"
I love my Bissell Steam mop. I've had it for about a year now. It has changed my life, y'all.

I took the advice of many offered here and purchased extra cleaning pads. They are a tad tricky to get on, I put the steam mop on the counter so I can get the pad on properly. I think the little cord thing could have been better designed, but the pads have held up well, I wash them on hot and dry them on hot, I haven't noticed any shrinkage.

The steam mop cleans so well, I love that I can blow through my 1800 square feet of hard flooring (tile and sealed Bamboo) with under 2 reservoir tanks. I use distilled water and haven't had any trouble with the filter.

Pros - what's not to love?
- It cleans very well. Even dried baby food, bananas, and other sticky messes come up after letting it steam for a few seconds.
- small and compact, easy to store.
- Uses only water and cleans better than the popular yet difficult to use, Floormate.
- It's very quiet. I can clean after my kids are in bed, the soft steaming noise doesn't disturb anyone. Even down the hall, right outside their bedrooms.

Cons
- I'm tall so it's a little short for me, I find myself hunching over it a bit.
- It does take some effort to push, but it cleans overall more quickly than the powered Floormate.
- Like any machine, it can't get right up close to the walls, so every so often I've got to get down on my hands and knees and wash right up next to the baseboards and cabinets. But it does fit under the cabinets with its low profile head.

I'm so sorry Bissell isn't making this anymore, my mom, mother in law, and friends all want to purchase one.

"Great little cleaner"
I use this on laminate floors. It seems to be the only type of cleaner that doesn't ruin the floors with too much water. i love it.

"Loving it all over again"
After a hiatus from housekeeping (we lived overseas where I was lucky enough to have a maid), I'm back to mopping my floors. I've dusted off my Bissell steam mop and am reminded all over again why I like it so much.

It cleans. It disinfects. All without any nasty chemicals.

Important info since Bissell no longer makes this mop - you can order both replacement pads & filters at Bissell.com I also saw both pads & filters on Ebay as well as Amazon - but the prices were higher(!) Bottom line, there are still replacement parts available. I'm tempted to stock up so I can keep using this for a few more years!

I loved the tip about wetting the pad before putting it on the mop, will try that out next time I mop!

What our customer's say!

"Great Value - And Cleaner!", I've had our 1867 Steam Mop for over two years now. We have a textured linoleum floor that we primarily use it on. The unit heats up quickly, and I'm able to clean our hallway and kitchen/dinette in about 10 minutes. The mop heads are hard to snug tight onto the unit, but I've only had them come off twice. I usually will get them wet prior to putting them on the mop. Used on the linoleum, we don't get any streaking. Using it on our tile floors works okay, but there you see water streaks when the floor drys. If I had all smooth shiny tile floors in the house, I think I'd keep searching for a different product. I love that the mop doesn't use any chemicals, and don't regret my decision to purchase this product.

"steam cleaner.....", I have used the steam cleaner twice. Though I find the product easy to use when I use a forward/backward motion, it leaves a "trail" of dirt in front as I pull the machine back. This happens regardless of how clean I sweep my floor. Have any of you found this also and found a resolution?

"I am happy with my new Bissel Steam Mop", I bought Bissel Steam Mop two weeks ago from Walmart, I am happy with this product, it is especially good with my kitchen vinal floor, because the surface of my vinal floor is not very smooth, I had to use chemicals to clean my kitchen floor before, but now I only need to use water to clean it, and the effect is much better than using chemicals. But I found that the advantages of using steam mop are not so obvious on tiles and hard wood floors.

"My favorite cleaning tool!", I have been using my Bissell mop for over 2 years now to clean my laminate and marble floors. I love the fact that it sterilizes and also that there are no fumes from cleaning liquids. Other cleaning products would leave behind a film on my laminate floors, but the steam mop leaves them perfectly clean and shiny. I would highly recommend this mop.

"This is a great mop!", This mop does a wonderful job. I love cleaning with steam and not having to use any chemical cleaners.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"I love it, My housekeeper loves it, EVEN MY HUSBAND LOVES IT!", I am the biggest gadget buyer! And for once I found something that everyone agrees works great! Now I find that Bissell has discontinued it! WHY??? It did wonders on my ceramic tiles and my wood floors. I loved the fact that it steamed cleaned everything. I even compared it to Hoover's bare floors steam cleaner with its brushes and it's own cleaner. That was harder to use and made my floors look dull. I even have the another steam cleaner that doesn't do as well on floors as this machine. Bissell doesn't seem to have a replacement to it either. Everyone should write to Bissell and request they start making it again!

"My housekeeper loves it, I love it, even my husband love it!", I also have a housekeeper that likes to clean the old fashion way but I'm paying her by the hour & watching her wash the corners of the floor with a toothbrush while I have many modern tools & seeing my prescription drug costs go through the roof is killing me.(I'm disabled) I had 2 steamers the scunci and Bissel Steam Mop & we have 4K ft of ceramic tile. Not counting carpeting. I brought out the Bissell and saw the look on her face. This time I just said try it & tell me what you think. She did, she loves it & now she wants 1 of her own & 1 for her mom! We do not dry our pads in the dryer! I need a new filter-Bissell never said they were out of them but didn't mention they were no longer making the machine! Why would they stop making such a popular product?

"Bissell jewell", I ordered a Bissell steam mop from Amazon for $50, reduced from the original $89. That is plenty to pay for it. It works nicely and speeds up the mopping chore which I hate. No dirty mop water or mop to wring out. The pads are a little tough to get back on for the next cleaning, but do go on. Maybe don't dryer dry them.

I notice that at the Bissell site they say this item is no longer available. Shame. The one on Amazon priced at $229 is far overpriced. Just to let you know. It ain't worth that.

"why did they stop making it???", I have had my steam mop for 3 years now and I love it...it gets the floors so clean, it's easy to use, it fits into tight corners and underneath tight places, and it's easy clean-up (just throw pad in washing machine and empty water). I'm such a clean freak too. Recently I went to buy replacement pieces(filter, mop pads) and to my dismay, I couldn't get them anymore...this model's been discontinued! When left with no choice, I bought the Bissel Flip It...what a pain! Seperate cleaners to fill up for wood/vinyl, it doesn't fit underneath anything, it's clunky and cumbersome and always tipping over (once spilling out the contents of the "dirty" tank, and hard to clean up at the end. I have to pull out hair/dirt/dust from the tank and nozzle and rinse and clean the thing each time. I have 3 kids, I have no time for this! It does clean at least, but it takes so much more time/energy. Really a nightmare that my favorite hard floor cleaner has been replaced by a lesser model!

"WOW!!", I don't know how I washed floors before my steam mop! The absolute greatest cleaning tool ever - it works superbly on both tile and Pergo with no mess or fuss - add water, plug it in, and steam clean your floors - lightweight and easy to use. No chemical smell and cleans like a dream!
